Our best holidays

"Atrium Hotel has exceeded our expectations!

It was our second time in this Hotel and it was once again a great experience.

It is a hotel with a romantic atmosphere, unique style, excellent staff, very good service and astonishing view!!

We felt so welcomed like being at home and we only look forward to return next year to this fantastic place!

I definitely recommend Atrium!

We have stayed at this hotel twice in...

"We have stayed at this hotel twice in the last few years and would thoroughly recommend it despite some reservations. Those reservations (excuse the pun!) include a short but very steep driveway up to the hotel which would be unsuitable to those with mobility problems, and the other main drawback is the hotel doesn't feel welcoming to families with children who were thin on the ground on both holidays. There are some facilities for children including a small playroom and a children's pool (closed when we stayed) but the hotel is aimed pretty much at the couples who want a quiet and relaxing time with little noise around the hotel and pool. Our children are very well behaved but we still felt unwelcome amongst many older European guests.

The hotel layout is stunning and beautifully designed on several tiers. The pool area is excellent though the sunbeds do have towels over them the night before which is immensely irritating and sunbeds can be tough to find when busy.

The pool bar is expensive so we used it little, but the food on offer both half board and full board was traditional, rustic and superbly cooked. Plentiful too! The hotel has it's own taverna as well as restaurant which only opens from early June. There is no entertainment of any kind in the evening though musicians occasionally visit the hotel for a 'serious' night of piano playing or traditional Greek music which is taken very seriously by the hotel owners! Sssshh!

The views over the bay are fantastic from the hotel and the nearest beach is a ten minute walk down past the side of the neighbouring Princess hotel and straight on to one of the best beaches in Greece complete with sun loungers, shop and taverna! The essential bus stop (you don't need a car here!) is just next to the Princess also, as are several excellent tavernas. Getting around Skiathos is easy and cheap. Make sure you go on the Skopelos boat trip to see the dolphins, absolutely wonderful experience.

All in all a wonderful hotel with friendly staff which I would recommend to all.

4 star??

"My husband and I have just come back from a very disappointing two week stay at the atrium. Yes the view is lovely if you are at the pool or the restaurant or if you are lucky enough to have a room with a 'real' sea view. We waited two and a half days (with another 3 guests) for a change to a sea view which we had booked and the third room we were shown was slightly better than the rest.If you like a hot (or even warm) bath or shower then you need to be at the hotel by 4.30 p.m. asI was on the only day that I had a hot bath and in the morning you had to be up and bathed by 7 a.m. When I complained for the thrid time about the lack of hot water I was told that I would have to be back and bathed early before the rush hour for hot water!!! Apart from that, the island is lovely. Hire a scooter, 9euros a day from the super market down the road, or a car and explore the island. You will find some lovely, white ,practically deserted beaches which you can relax on. There are plenty of tavernas just down from the hotel. The best value we found was the taverna orsa. Hotel does supply towels for the beach and pool. Sun bed hire for one day at the beach is 4 euros for one so car or scooter hire and some much nicer beaches is by far the best.In my opinion not a four star hotel. The Mandaki village and Kassandra hotel look nice with nice grounds to sit around in."

"Just spent two week at the Atrium, yes the food is not to good on the evening but just a 2 minute walk away there are at least 14 tavernas serving in at least half of them first class food esp mesostrato.

Had no problems with the room, staff very helpful and friendly, pool area is to die for. If you dont like the pool the beach is 5 mins away.

Just going to book for next year.

"I have just returned back from a break in Skiathos, where my partner and i stayed at the Atrium hotel. Before we went I read some reviews that concerned me and was expecting a sparse, plain hotel with questionable standards in catering.

I can honestly say that if you are member of the burger and chips brigade, want waiters in red coats singing and dancing, cooking full english breakfasts every morning stay well clear...please!

The hotel was designed and built by the architect who still lives there with his family. The hotel is Greek through and through and the staff are quiet, helpful and polite. The food is Greek, they havent even attempted to go down the English route and thank goodness! I honestly wonder why those people who moan have gone to Greece, if they dont like Greek food?

The climb to the hotel really isnt that bad, its 5 minutes of a steep incline, however if you do have issues with mobility the taxii's will take you to the reception. The views are just stunning, you can relax by the pool with a cocktail from the bar and look out over the Agean sea, I really couldn't have wished for a more relaxing break. One thing i would say is that it isnt really a hotel for children, there aren't any clubs or activities and only a limited amount of space around the pool.

I will definatley be going back!

Gorgeous Hotel

"We went to the hotel in May,for 2 weeks and had a lovely stay. The hotel itself is designed beautifully and has its own individuality. The view from the pool over the sea is breath taking and the pool/pool bar has a lovely relaxing atmostphere.

The food is typically greek, and very nice. If you are one of the 'burger and chips' brigade then you will probably have a moan, but this hotel is for those who want to experience Greece, rather than Blackpool!

Staff were very polite and would highly recommend coming to this hotel.

Nice hotel, shame about the food

"lovely pool, interesting hotel, lots of seating with nooks and crannies. interesting architecture. the staff were untidy and the food choice was very limited. if you like sliced apple with lemon you are o.k. 14 nights of it.

hotel is situated on a very steep incline and is terraced so completely unsuitable for anybody that is not 100% fit. the bus service is very good but very crowded standing room only most of the time. the holiday overall was very enjoyable and the thomson reps were excellent.

"The Atrium hotel is a little bit incosistent in terms of the all round experience, however overall it does come recommended. Its strength is its public areas, with stunning views from the excellent pool area. Suprisingly for a hotel in a very hot place, the indoor public areas are also good enough to warrant using in their own right when the sun gets too hot. Rooms are reasonably comfortable, but a little sparse for a 4 star hotel, however they again beneft from great views. The staff are very friendly and helpful.

The main let down is the food - its average at best. There's only bar snacks during the day, and with a fairly steep (albeit short) walk down and then back up to the nearest taverna, this is a bit of a pain. Evening meals are not recommended. But then, when it comes to food, you're not short of tavernas anyway, so this is not much to worry about.

Oh, and that steep walk...getting to and from town by bus is a doddle, however making that climb at the close of the evening was sufficient incentive to get a taxi home, as these take you right to your front door!

Fabulous Hotel with fantastic views, great holiday

"We holidayed at the Atrium Hotel June 2004. We had just got engaged and somehow the staff got wind of this!! They spoiled us with champagne, flowers in the room and fresh fruit delivered daily!!! It was paradise.

The staff are so friendly and can't do enough for you. This family run hotel is excellent.

Set in the side of the hillside overlooking the Aegean Sea, the views are fantastic from every room, yes every room has a sea view. The rooms are a decent size with air conditioning, fully equipped bathroom & hair dryer. A lovely wooden verandah or private terrace comes all included.

The food is excellent, simply prepared, typically Greek fare, we did half board but I guess it is sometimes nice to try some of the other local Tarvernas. In the evening the dinner is served on the verandah alongside the plaza style pool. It is stunning, simple, but stunning..... you feel as though you can just reach out from alongside the pool and dip your finger in the sea. But of course the sea is way away!! Just romancing!!!

Skiathos is so pretty, so green & lush. The beaches are great and plenty of them.

Getting about is so easy. The bus travels thru to Skiathos Town regularly and the bus stops are numbered, so no worries about where do you get off on your return journey!

We are taking a trip there again this year, in June and I just can't wait.

Try it you'll love it!!!!!!!!!!
