Hotel Description:

Couples of all ages and families too, will appreciate the hotel's stunning location and calm atmosphere. This is a traditional hotel, set on a picturesque pine-clad hill with lovely sea views. Not suitable for the less mobile as there is a very steep driveway. Located on a steep hill overlooking the sparkling blue waters of Aghia Paraskevi Beach, the hotel is only 150m from the sandy beach. The bus-stop to Skiathos Town is 100m away and is a 7km journey from the hotel. Local shops and tavernas are a 200m walk.

" We have stayed at this hotel twice in... "

We have stayed at this hotel twice in the last few years and would thoroughly recommend it despite some reservations. Those reservations (excuse the pun!) include a short but very steep driveway up to the hotel which would be unsuitable to those with mobility problems, and the other main drawback is the hotel doesn't feel welcoming to families with children who were thin on the ground on both holidays. There are some facilities for children including a small playroom and a children's pool (closed when we stayed) but the hotel is aimed pretty much at the couples who want a quiet and relaxing time with little noise around the hotel and pool. Our children are very well behaved but we still felt unwelcome amongst many older European guests.

The hotel layout is stunning and beautifully designed on several tiers. The pool area is excellent though the sunbeds do have towels over them the night before which is immensely irritating and sunbeds can be tough to find when busy.

The pool bar is expensive so we used it little, but the food on offer both half board and full board was traditional, rustic and superbly cooked. Plentiful too! The hotel has it's own taverna as well as restaurant which only opens from early June. There is no entertainment of any kind in the evening though musicians occasionally visit the hotel for a 'serious' night of piano playing or traditional Greek music which is taken very seriously by the hotel owners! Sssshh!

The views over the bay are fantastic from the hotel and the nearest beach is a ten minute walk down past the side of the neighbouring Princess hotel and straight on to one of the best beaches in Greece complete with sun loungers, shop and taverna! The essential bus stop (you don't need a car here!) is just next to the Princess also, as are several excellent tavernas. Getting around Skiathos is easy and cheap. Make sure you go on the Skopelos boat trip to see the dolphins, absolutely wonderful experience.

All in all a wonderful hotel with friendly staff which I would recommend to all.
