me and my wife anne wennt 2 the villa hellena twice last & we were there the year b 4 george & his family r great they make you feel very welcome & about the theft,s wot aload ov bollock,s we r hoping 2 get back there this year! neil & anne anderson p.s. george i will phone you mate

Very good hotel. Not surprisingly the manager’s name was called George. It seemed everyone in Laganas was called that.
Hotel was clean with friendly staff. Bar was a little pricey at the side of the pool but was ok.
Pool was a little on the small side but was good for taken a dip in the hot midday sun.
Hotel was further than we thought from the strip and definitely not a walk! Was only 2 mins in a taxi but would have preferred it a little closer in.
Rooms were basic but clean and had no problems with maid service or damage to the rooms.

Firstly if your young and looking for a lively place to stay then Villa Helena Studios is not for you! It is miles away from all the bars/clubs and beach... I'd say about 30min walk! It is in the middle of nowhere and is really dodgy if you walk back after a night out.
The hotel staff are not friendly at all and the place is more like a family hotel not a hotel that is recommended by Thomson as suitable for young and couples looking for a lively atmosphere!
If you come in late you get shouted at and told to get in your rooms?!
Also the main reason not to go is YOU WILL GET MONEY STOLEN FROM YOUR ROOM! We had 70 euros stolen from us out of our bags. We found a cleaner wandering around a room even though she had already cleaned it 2 hours before! When confronted she said that she was just checking whether anybody was in the room!?! Well dodgy but the staff just wander in and out of your rooms anyway without even knocking!
The Thomson rep advised that we would need a police report which would mean having to get a translator costing 50 euros in order for us to get our money back... We decided there was no point in this as we literally couldn't afford it because of the money that was stolen.
Apart from that the hotel is pretty basic and you have to pay extra for the air con.
The only good thing about the hotel is that the food at the pool bar is really nice and its quite cheap as well!
As a resort Laganas is brilliant, the bars/clubs are a lot of fun and everyone is really friendly... the beach is a bit grimy but if you go further up the coast its beautiful with a really clear, warm sea!
Freestyle also do some really fun excursions like the cruise which was excellent and bar crawls with free bar!
I'd definitely recommend going to Laganas but whatever you do, just do not go to the Villa Helena Studios!!!!

The apartments were lovely; I had been to Zante many times before but had never received such a good welcome. George and his family were great. The pool bar was great for a snack at lunch and the pool itself was always very clean.
The room was smaller than most self-catering apartments but then again you get what you pay for and the price was very reasonable. Check out Paradise restaurant, just a few minutes walk from the apartments, great Greek food and lovely cocktails!!
The only thing that I would say was a negative about our stay was that on our last day a small amount of money was stolen out of one of the suitcases. Our room was always locked when we went out so we can only assume it was someone who had a key to the room. The couple that stayed in the next room to us had over £300 taken in cash, some from their safety deposit box. When we both went to see George and his family they became very defensive and nothing was done. It was only a small amount of money for us, but it would make us think twice about coming back to these apartments.
With so many people all saying they have had money taken there must be something going on and when we told our tour operator they were very unhelpful.
If you are going to this hotel do not be put off, you will have a wonderful holiday. Just be extremely careful of where you leave valuable items and cash. You are best to keep it with you at all times or lock it in your suitcase...so not use the safety deposit box.

We had a fantastic time with George and his family. After reading several websites that warned of theft we were a little wary but can quite safely say we had no problems with this at all.
George and his family were superb as was the accommodation and the location. We would definitely recommend this holiday to anybody and will certainly be returning.

After reading reviews from past visitors I was quite reluctant about this hotel.
On arrival there wasn’t much of a welcome off the owners we handed over our passports, they handed over the key and pointed into the direction of our room.
The room was nice but we expected a double bed but we received 2 single beds! Not really a young couple like us expected. But we pushed the beds 2gether which the staff said there was no problem and enjoyed the first 3 days going to the beach relaxing in the room before going for food.
During our welcome talk we booked the simply Zante tour which meant we had to get up early on Wednesday morning at 8 o clock to wait to be collected at 9.
That was no problem, Tuesday night had a early night everything was fine until 5 am the we didn’t realise there was a farm next door with chickens, cows sheep and especially roosters! We lay there for 3 hours listening to 4 roosters in total (we think) just make noises all night. So that day we did not enjoy our trip due to being so tired from the night before.
The following nights nothing changed some nights it was easier to drift back to sleep and other nights you'd get the other animals accompany the roosters.

Before leaving to go to Villa Helena in Laganas, I read reviews on the internet about theft and the such like.
We left valuable items in our rooms throughout the day and night and nothing was ever taken from our room. I cannot fault George, his dad or mum at all. They are a kind family who would do anything for you to ensure that you enjoy your stay and that you are comfortable and safe at all times.
I would definitely go back as I have never experienced such kindness from a studio/hotel in my life, as I did with George and his family. Much appreciated.
