Sarakina Apartments

was there last year loved it quiet and out of noise, kids loved it went to the beach every day and went round the whole island beatufil sites to see. we are going back in back in six weeks as we inenjoyed it weather was great hospility was good but it would have been better if there was more to do at nigt instead of going into langanas for interterminate as we went at the start of the season but all and all brill place to be

i came bck from sarakina apartments yesturday 20/09/09 in zante, it was the most beautiful place iv ever been, the apartments were so big and so clean i had no problems with bugs etc which is a thumbs up :D, the pool was amazing, lovely people at the pool bar and nicos the owner of the apartments was such a lovely guy, i wud consider this place for sure, i enjoyed myself and miss it already, weather was so nice aswel had thunder storms first day but rest ov week okay, wud probs go bit earlier bout july/august for best weather. overall best place yet =)

Arrived at the Sarakina on 1st May 2009, we were the first to arrive and was greeted by Nicos the owner who welcomed us to a glass of wine as we were the first guests. We were a family of 2 adults and 2 children aged 5 and 7.
We were shown to room 6 and were amazed when we got in the room at the size of the bedrooms and the fantastic view we had from the balcony - wow. The rooms were the biggest we have ever had and they were so clean and tidy. The cleaner came in every day they were spotlessly clean and the cleaner worked so hard every morning. The fridge was fully stocked with all the essentials including milk, cola, orange juice, larger, wine, water etc and you have what you want and pay before you leave the price was very reasonable.
Unfortunately due to us being the first to arrive we were expectinging the taverna to be open so we could eat there but it was not open and was due to open the week later when we were going home, there is a pool bar which does serve drinks and snacks though which we used quite a bit. The pool was lovely just down some steps and we basically had it to ourselves.
The sarakina is a good 20 - 25 minute walk from the town of lagana down a hill which can be a little dangerous with little ones but there is a courtesy bus which runs 3 times a day. We liked the walk though so found this no problem. There is a supermarket called DIA which is cheap for everything, and there is a pub opposite called legends great food great price and good hospitality run by a liverpool bloke called Billy, we were having 2 adult meals and 2 kids meals for about 14 euros.
Would definately go back to the Sarakina but no later than May due to lagana not being so suitable for families.
All in all great holiday great weather (one day it was 36c)great choice of apartments!

My friend and I stayed at Hotel Sarakina and we were so impressed. The rooms were huge and clean and we had the most amazing view over the mountains.
The owner, Nikos was so friendly and could not do enough for you, when we got stranded in the middle of laganas with no money, they even came to pick us up when we called them!
The food in the restaurant was excellent and we enjoyed the nightly Greek dancing.
I would highly recommend this hotel to everyone!

Have just got back from a great one-week holiday staying in the Sarakina apartments in Lagana. The apartments are run by a really friendly family and are rightly given a 3* rating. The rooms were clean and well furnished and there was plenty of storage. Rooms were cleaned daily, and towels/sheets were changed once during the week which I felt was reasonable. You get use of the large pool right next to the apartments where theres a bar (with food) which was nice.
I think the Sarakina is best suited to families, but my friend and I were there to sunbathe and go out and get drunk at night and we did not feel a nuisance or out of place. I would probably not recommend this hotel if you're a big young group.
The hotel is situated away from the strip which was great, you could get a free Sarakina taxi down to it, or a normal taxi which is a fixed 6 euros. Otherwise its only a 10 minute walk to the busy strip. There are no shops near the hotel but as its only 10minutes into town that wasnt a problem, as you could also buy water from the pool bar if you needed.
Overall I really really enjoyed my stay and was absolutely gutted to leave! (The family also own a taverna next door and the food and atmosphere are lovely)

We have just returned from a two week holiday at the Sarakina Apartments in Lagana and can't praise them highly enough. The apartments are lovely, spotlessly clean and nicely furnished. Nicos and his family did everything possible to ensure we had a wonderful holiday. The Taverna next to the apartments is also owned by Nicos and his family and we ate in there a few times during our stay as the food was delicious and we enjoyed the Greek dancing each evening. We will definitely try to go back there next year as it was one of the best holidays we have ever had.

We have just returned from staying at the Sarakina Apartments. Beautiful views, nice clean apartments. We had a fantastic week; we met some nice people.
There is a 10-15 minute walk to Laganas Town, where all the restaurants and supermarkets are. We ate out every evening, very reasonable also went on two trips through Smile Tours. We recommend Smile Tours as Thomson can get a bit expensive.
Our first trip was to see the turtles, we were able to see only one turtle but we had a fantastic time looking at all the caves and swimming in the turquoise sea. The second trip was of the Island Tour; it’s on a coach and you learn about the History of The Island and have many stops to admire the scenery, this includes a beautiful shipwreck, and you do traditional wine tasting, well worth the visit.
If I had to pick a fault, it would be there was no supermarket near the apartments, meaning we had to walk the 10-15 minute walk in the heat just to get a newspaper or food items. Would not put me off visiting them again.
The Owner of Sarakina Apartments, Nico is very friendly, including his family. The resort has only 13 apartments which mean this resort is quiet, which meant some days our kids had the pool to themselves! We would definitely go back in 3-4 years time because we like to try different places.
If you choose this holiday and resort, we guarantee you, you will have a great time!

We've recently come back from the Sarakina apartments in Lagana Zakynthos and we must say it was excellent. The rooms are spacious and clean, you have a maid come in daily, have clean sheets and towels, she'll even do the dishes for you.
Nicos and his family are very friendly they cannot do enough for you, nothing is too much trouble.
The taverna next door is also owned by Nicos the food and service is the best on the island, the people come from all over to eat there, they have Greek dancing and music every night.
There is a nice pool perfect to cool down in and also a snack bar which serves great food. We had two teenage girls with us and they loved it there, there are trips you can take to visit around the island and I must say we enjoyed every one of them.
As for the resort itself the beach is about 30 mins walk, but Nicos has a free bus service if you wish to use it, or you can get a taxi for 6 euro, there are lots of restaurants and shops on the main strip.
Had a fantastic holiday can't wait to go back.

The Sarakina is a really nice place and I would recommend it to anyone. Nikos and his son are legends! Made the stay enjoyable. Rooms are large and spacious with adequate facilities.
You have to use the pool of the hotel next to the Sarakina but you really wouldn’t be able to tell if this wasn’t stated. Everyone from the hotel is very friendly.
Only reason it doesn’t get 10/10 is that its a little far from the strip, about a 10 minute walk. The courtesy bus is supposed to run 2 times a day but if you just ask they are quite willing to give you a lift. If not a taxi is only 6 euros, cheap as chips!
I’m 18 and really enjoyed it, music was turned off fairly early for the families which is good but some younger guests may not appreciate the noise of the younger guests at 7am.

Me and my family have just returned from Zante staying at the Sarakina apartments.
What a fantastic holiday. The apartments were cleaned every day. We had the use of the next apartments pool and snack bar the Agnanti, which is looked after by a lovely woman called Carrie.
The owner Nico's who owns the Sarakina also owns the taverna next door the food is beautiful and reasonably priced. He also runs a free mini bus from the apartments to the laganas main strip were the restaurants and bars are.
I would highly recommend the Sarakina to everyone and Zante is a beautiful place and we can’t wait to go back.
