Just got back from Zante and what a...

Jul 2006, Mr J Roberts

Just got back from Zante and what a great time me and my girlfriend had even though Thomson attempted to ruin it by not picking us up for the Athens excursion ( my advice is go with a local firm otherwise you wont go). They didn't even tell us that the trip was cancelled. Anyway back to the Atlantis and what I will say is it's was as beautiful as their websites pictures.
The bad points are our room had a rushed feel to the finish for example door frames not put together squarely and tile grouting left all over the tiles (which would just wash off if they washed the tiles), and yes the fire alarm seems to go off whenever someone makes toast or smokes too much in their room.
Also it attracts rowdy crowds of blokes we experienced 3 lots each worse than the previous who didn't seem to care when they smashed glasses in the pool (thanks!)
Apart from these minor gripes and the tour operator being lax on picking you up for excursions I would highly recommend the Zante Atlantis and if you go check out Paul's bar next to barcode for a quieter and more relaxed drink he also puts lots of comedy on his 15 TV’s in the bar nightly.

9 / 10
Jul 2006, Mr M Pearson

The hotel is situated away from a main road but is close enough to all the restaurants and shops. Rooms were generally clean, however the kitchen facilities were very basic.
Staff were all very friendly, especially Paulo, and the food from the snack bar was good.
The main road closest to the hotel was quieter but had lots of nice restaurants and bars. Giorgio’s was the best restaurant and Amigos was the best bar we found. It was definitely worth going self-catering because of the wide range of choice and it's cheap.
The main road down to the beach was much louder and busier. The beach is about 10-15 mins walk away down a few side roads.
The resort was generally clean and friendly, however there are loads of PR people hassling you on the beach and outside bars one after the other.
We went on three excursions booked through Thompson. Although it was more expensive than local firms, it was worth the extra money because of better organisation and timing of the trips. The Turtle Island Cruise was the best we went on, however the inclusive meal was awful. Be prepared to swim a short distance to a picturesque beach and to walk on a floating walkway to the place where you have lunch.
The Smugglers Cove excursion was cancelled once due to poor weather but was re-scheduled and was well worth a visit. Going with Thompson was worth the extra money because we were the first people on the beach. As we were leaving it was getting very busy.
The trip to Zakynthos town was a short excursion, but was worth it for the view of the town from high up and included some wine tasting.
Overall the hotel was clean and friendly, the resort had something for everyone and the Turtle Island Cruise excursion is a must!

Also just returned from a week in...
7 / 10
Jun 2006, Mr M Moses

Also just returned from a week in Laganas and will best describe the Zante Atlantis and Laganas to you. Firstly the Atlantis good points are the location which is 200 yards from nearest bars, shops, restaurants and supermarkets about 10 mins to the main strip with all the bars and clubs and then a further 5 mins to the beach.
The complex and rooms are spotless, rooms cleaned every day, sheets changed every day and towels most days. The staff there are very friendly as are the Greek people in general as you will find out in Laganas.
Bar food at the Atlantis is average compared to the rest of town which I would say is excellent, especially the restaurants that are on the edge of the beach overlooking the sea, we loved the 1 with the bloke in Greek costume and the parrot.
This time of the year the resort is mostly full of groups of youngsters (mostly English) but there are also families and couples but few and far between. The Atlantis had a mixed range of guests the first part of the week but by the time we left the groups of loud English had arrived (mixed) with their arrangement of flags and towels (maybe they should be in Germany and not here).
Also can anyone explain why the fire alarms seem to go off at random in the Atlantis? The worst 1 went of between 2am and 3am one night. Also considering that Laganas has a noise curfew where bars and clubs have to be quiet or shut all the doors the Atlantis bar decided not to for a couple of nights going on into the early hours, worst thing was there were only about 5 people in the bar!
Best bar in Laganas has to be Bar Code by far, great for sport, music and Magners. 1 thing to note is don’t buy the bottles in Mad Murphys bar as 2 bottles of Corona will set you back 10 Euros, 6 - 8 else where.

We have literally just come back from...

Jun 2006, Miss R Olley

We have literally just come back from Laganas and I can only say it was superb! We went last year also, but this hotel was far superior to the very basic apartments we had stayed in previously.
I really couldn't believe how well we had done for ourselves! The hotel was lovely and modern, the pool was a good size and the staff really make the complex complete. Nikos at the bar was absolutely brilliant from teaching us Greek to making our favourite cocktails whilst we attempted games of pool!
The hotel is in such a great location being only 10 mins from the resort centre, but far enough to get a decent nights sleep after a night on the town!
We loved the place so much there are even talks of going back in September!

My friend and I have just returned...

Jun 2006, Miss D Quigley

My friend and I have just returned from 1 weeks stay at the Zante Atlantis Apartments and I have to say that it was first class from start to finish. The studio apartment we stayed in (A12) had 3 single beds and was very clean. The maids were in every day making the beds and the towels and bedding were changed every 2-3 days. The apartments were in an ideal situation for us. Quiet round about but within walking distance to the main strip in approx 5-10 minutes. The beach was only a 10 minute walk as well.
The bar in the apartments is owned by Nico who speaks very good English and is always willing to help you in any way he can. What a lovely person! He has a barman named Pavlos working for him who is extremely handsome but watch out girls, he's a bit of a ladies man!
Anyway I rate this holiday 10 out of 10 and would definitely return again. Be careful though as it was 110 degrees out there as was getting warmer every day.
P.S. There is a restaurant called The Friends less than 5 minutes from the apartments and the food we had there was that good, we went there every night!

This was a brilliant choice of...

Jun 2006, Miss Ffion Jones

This was a brilliant choice of hotels. The rooms were really clean and tidy, daily maid service. It was really good because the hotel was a five minute walk away from the main road, where all the shops, restaurants and bars were. There was no hassle from any one going by at night. The staff there are so friendly. We made really good friends with them. The food at the hotel was excellent and no over expensive.
The beach goes on for miles, so if you like to take long walks, this is for you. The walk down to the beach can be a bit of a nightmare if you go through the main street. You will get hassled form workers trying to get you into their bar, and there is over 20 bars. This was a huge down point. From the hotel you can take another rout to the beach to avoid all of this.
Overall brilliant hotel!

We were due to stay at Villa Helena,...

May 2006, Mr C Goward

We were due to stay at Villa Helena, but cos Thomson messed up the booking, we ended up here and I think it was a blessing in disguise. I really loved the hotel. The worst bit about the hotel was the food quality from the hotel bar. It was cheap, but wasn't always up to scratch. The location is fantastic. For me it was the fantastic location to be because it was far enough from the hustle of the Laganas strip, but close enough to walk it. Was only 10min walk to the beach.
We tried out a lot of different restaurants and bar's. But best place to eat must Michael's Place on the main road Laganas. And for football atmosphere has to be next door at the Three Lions. The guys on the door there this summer are fantastic! Whilst we were away England played against Belarus and one of the lads is a Scot, and he proudly wore the England shirt!
Some great clubs out there too! Rescue is always packed, and bar code can get quite rowdy too. The Pink Panther was fantastic and great for a laugh. With the laws out there meaning no noise after midnight, pink panther was sound proofed so after midnight, go up there and it stays open til early hours!
Niko, the barman, at the hotel is fantastic. His English is good too and has a lovely dog called Daisy. He's funny and very helpful too.
The room we stayed in (D10) was really nice and I don't think we could've asked for better. The wooden roof was really nice and it felt like a cottage. I don’t quite know how to explain it but if anybody else stays in that room, maybe they can help me out.

Mar 2006, Miss F Recksolm

I have recently been to Zante Atlantis I really enjoyed my stay and found the hotel and staff to an excellent standard.
After reading all of the reviews posted I would have to say I don’t really agree with any.
I think the apartments are clean and the meals are great that I do agree on!!
However I would say that if you are looking for a night life that Zante Atlantis is good for teenagers aged between 16 - 17 but if you are looking for hard core then it would not be the place to stay but if you are looking to go on holiday get drunk but still be in a good state of mind the next day then this is your place.
Maybe I would recommend it for young couples who are looking for some time together in the day but a night life in the night time.

I visited Zante Atlantis in...

Jan 2006, Dr D Falangi

I visited Zante Atlantis in September, having just read the review place in this site by Mr Jonny I would have to disagree, and state that the hotel is perfect for young groups of boys and girls. Especially those of 18 years old! The hotel is packed with entertainment and very good looking bar staff (well done Zante Atlantis).
Being a doctor myself, I was a little worried about going clubbing as i am aware of the effects of alcohol. However, i felt no need to consume such a beverage as i was bewildered by the flames!! See you in July!!
Love the Doc, peace!!!

Jan 2006, jonny

I visited Zante Atlantis last July for 1 week with my wife and two children aged 16 and 18.
I found the accommodation to be a value for money it was very basic which we all expected anyway as we have visited Greece previously.
I was happy with the location as it was not to far from the main strip but far enough that there were no large groups of boys or Girls staying at our Apartments/Studios.
I would recommend these apartments/studios to young couples as well as old as it has the ability to entertain all ages.
I would not recommend the apartments to any groups of Girls or Boys as the apartments/studios are not in the thick of all the action and they may become board, I would recommend they stay nearer the strip its self.
The beach is not to far away which was great and there is a supermarket close too!
Anyway I would give the Zante Atlantis 10 out of 10 and would really advise people to spend their holidays here.

Nov 2005, Mr A Thurgood

We were a party of four adults (2 over 65 and 2 aged 37 and 40) and two teenagers. Super hotel with friendly staff.
Cleanliness of hotel, bar area and pool beyond question to suit all ages and parties. Decent freshly cooked food available from early morning until late afternoon. No evening meals hence only 9/10.
Definitely recommended and will certainly go again.
Ideal situation away from bustling town but close enough to walk everywhere.
