We arrived at Zante on an early...

"We arrived at Zante on an early flight totally exhausted, but when we arrived at the hotel we where more than impressed. After a good rest we started to explore and enjoy the hospitality at the hotel and around the pool bar. The staff were pleasant and very helpful and the rooms cleaned every day to a very high standard. The hotel is very modern and of a high standard, and the rooms are the best we have enjoyed abroad. In all we found the whole Argassi resort very enjoyable with plenty to do without being too roudy and the local people are the most pleasant you could wish to meat (not the usual hassle of touts). In fact, we enjoyed our holiday so much we have booked to go back in September 2008, and we just cant wait."

This hotel is very modern, extremely...

"This hotel is very modern, extremely clean and well run. The staff are excellent and can't do enough to make your holiday. Although we had an issue with the room not having a sea view and private balcony as expected we were moved as soon as possible and the hotel amenities more than exceeded our expectations. The pool area is the hub of activity during the day - where Donavan was always happy to chat and advise you on local restaurants and places to visit. The food was excellent and good value for money.

In the evening you could relax and enjoy the atmosphere in the rooftop bar and lounge. Odi makes fantastic cocktails and again was more then happy to offer advice on places to go. Although Argassi was a 10/15 minute walk into the centre and you do have to take care on the road there were plenty of good places to eat. Although Argassi does not have a sandy beach you can catch a bus to St Nicholas and enjoy watersports and a lovely day there.

So 'Thank you' to Dennis and all the staff from the reception and cleaning staff to the all the bar staff for a lovely holiday and we hope to come back for another visit soon. Congratulations on a first class hotel, a great team effort - but Shhhh otherwise we'll never be able to get a booking you'll always be full!!!!

Taking a lot of time reading reviews...

"Taking a lot of time reading reviews about hotels before booking, I thought it only right that I add my comments about the Nefeli Hotel.

Initially when reading the reviews on this and other sites I was more than apprehensive when we arrived in Zante for our holiday 9-16th July 2007.

However, I was incredibly surprised with the Nefeli. The building is tastefully decorated, and my room looked over the sea. The bedrooms are very spacious with plenty of storage space, with modern furnishings. There was even an LCD TV on the wall (Ours was positioned too high and did not give a great picture)! All rooms are equipped with a fridge and tea and coffee making facilities. You can hire the Air Conditioning Unit controls and safe for a small fee, from reception

The dining area for breakfast is beautiful, with panoramic views over Zante, mainland Greece and the island of Kefalonia. On an evening when the sun goes down over Zante town it is amazing. The bar is well stocked and reasonable priced.

The staff of the hotel were extremely helpful and very pleasant. The Owner Dennis was there to meet us at the start and to say goodbye and was always helpful. Our rooms were cleaned beautifully each day, and we were able to sit on our balcony enjoying a cup of coffee overlooking the sea.

I have to concede that the hotel it is a little way from the centre of Argassi for the less agile, and the road is not very well lit at night, and you have to negotiate a very nasty bend on a very busy road. However, it took us less than 10 minutes strole to reach the Green Frog which is at the beginning of the 'strip'

In all, I believe that the teething problems mentioned in other reviews are mostly done and nothing at all effected our holiday.

I would certainly consider returning to the Nefeli Hotel.

The Nefelli hotel was an exceptional...

"The Nefelli hotel was an exceptional hotel for a holiday in Greece in the resort of Argassi. I thought that the views from my room was outstanding with the pictures view of the beach. I was also told that, that view could be seen by every room.

The hotel is filled with very nice and friendly people and they are all willing to help even though that is their job they put in the extra effort.

I have not 1 fault about the rooms as they where cleaned to perfection everyday which made you know that you did not have to lift a finger whilst you were staying at the Nefelli hotel.

I have heard many people complain about there not being any beaches near and that is the draw back however i did not let that upset me as i did not find that the case as there was either a beach in the space of walking distance or a beach that cost less that 5 euros to get a taxi to.

Also i had heard complaints about there not being much to do or see but it is very easy to get a bus into Zante centre which costs just over 1 euro i do not believe that this was any inconvenience as it was not a long bus ride and the journey was not stressful and you did not get any trouble.

Overall my holiday was successful and i would go again myself and i would recommend it to anyone who is a family or a couple. However you can see that i have not mentioned say young people because i feel that the only draw back for them would be that to get to the night life they would either have to have a long walk to get to it or get a taxi there and back every night.

However that is the only downside to the Nefelli hotel, on the other hand i would still recommend it t anyone including young people as the taxi i do not think would break the bank as it is not over charged.

I would like to thank all the staff at the Nefelli hotel as they made my stay very welcome and i would definitley go again.

"We arrived on the 8th June to sunshine and blue skies. We were very impressed immediately with the hotel and its modern design. The computer generated image did not do justice to the hotel and particularly the views from the rooms and especially the terrace.

Dennis, Donavan and Odi, made it their business to make us feel welcome and comfortable. This was accentuated by the guests on that particular week.

All in all it was one of our best holidays. Thanks again Dennis, Donavan and Odi and the rest of the staff, also best wishes, Thanks for a most enjoyable week. And hope to see you again.

We stayed at The Nefeli for 12 days,...

"We stayed at The Nefeli for 12 days, from the 28th May.

The hotel is very well presented & the staff were very helpful & friendly. It is on the outskirts of Argassi, which was a good thing as the centre of the resort is very busy & noisy.

Our rooms were as lovely as the rest of the hotel, which is very modern & comfortable, with a perfect location - the view from all the rooms & the breakfast area is simply stunning.

The only drawback for us was that the computer generated picture of the hotel implies that the hotel is on the beach. The fact there is no beach & the picture shows the hotel as being at "sea level" just isn't the case. There is a private road in front of the hotel & then a considerable drop to the sea.

There is a free bus service to St Nicholas Beach & if you have a car there are quite a few beaches nearby, we found Plaka beach which was perfect.

We enjoyed our holiday & the lack of a beach was the only real drawback.

Having set off for Argassi on 14th...

"Having set off for Argassi on 14th May to stay for one week at the Nefeli Hotel we were disappointed to find on arrival that the hotel was not open.

We were therefore offered alternative accommodation at another hotel on a bed and breakfast basis. We were, naturally disappointed not to stay at our chosen hotel.

However, following the necessary safety certificates, etc, the Nefeli finally opened its doors to customers on Friday 18th May 2007. We decided, therefore, to stay at the hotel for our final three days.

The building is indeed very tastefully decorated, and all rooms overlook the sea. The bedrooms are particularly restful decorated in pale green and cream.

The dining area for breakfast is beautiful, with panoramic views over Zante, mainland Greece and the island of Kefalonia on a clear day, but can be very windy.

All rooms are equipped with a fridge and tea and coffee making facilities.

On arrival we, however, felt that the hotel was far from 'up and running.’ They experienced in our three-day stay many teething problems. Items arrived daily - mattresses for the sun loungers, bins for the rooms, parasols. Breakfast was not running smoothly.

The male guests were thoroughly enjoying their English breakfasts, whilst we ladies would have given anything for a more simple breakfast of toast, cereal, yogurt and fruit, etc.

The staff of the hotel were extremely helpful and very pleasant. The pool barman Odi was particularly a character. Our rooms were cleaned beautifully each day, and we were able to sit on our balcony enjoying a cup of coffee overlooking the sea.

Location wise, it is a little way from the centre of Argassi for the less agile, and the road is not very well lit at night, and you have to negotiate a very nasty bend on a very busy road.

However, if you can manage the walk, or perhaps take a taxi, you will find the hotel very quiet and relaxing set in a very natural looking area of Argassi - passing olive, fig, and various other fruit trees on your way to the centre. The local bus runs on time and the bus stop is about a 5min walk from the hotel. It costs 1euro 20 cents for a one-way trip to Zante centre - very good value.

In all, we believe once the teething problems are over and done with this hotel would be the ideal location for those seeking a quiet relaxing holiday, set in lovely surroundings.

We would certainly consider returning to the hotel in the hope of experiencing a more relaxing time in a hotel that was over its teething problems, and up and running.
