The Potamitis Apartments were very nice, really enjoyed our stay there.
We only managed to get these apartments as Thomson had decided to tell us that they were no longer sending people to the hotel we had booked a few weeks before!
But, turned out to be a positive move. The owner of the apartments was very helpful, friendly and went out of his way to do everything he could to make our stay a good one.
In fact, most of the people that were there the same week as us were 'regulars' having been to Potamitis at least once before and liked it so much, they return year after year. A good sign!
The road to the beach / Alykes centre doesn't have a footpath, so just keep your eyes out for the motorbikes/cars/trucks/coaches etc, the road is not that busy, but the drivers could do with being a bit more pedestrian friendly.
It's about a 10 minute gentle stroll to the 'cross roads' - straight over for the beach and a couple of bars, left or right for more bars and restaurants.
We found a couple of nice restaurants to eat in, the one on the corner on the right hand side of the crossroads with the beach in front of you (I forget the name -) seemed to be the best, both in food and price, but everyone is competing on price, so 2 of us could eat and have drinks for less than 25euros. Great value.
For nice surroundings (and a game of crazy golf if you want it) is the Iris Bar, just about halfway on the right hand side from the apartments to the beach. Happy Hour was good with a wide variety if cocktails on offer.
All in all a great holiday, great weather, nice apartments - just a shame that the Thomson rep didn't seem interested in being helpful (which wasn't an issue for us, but could have been for some others).
