Hotel Rena Reviews
" This was our first time to the island... "
Submitted By: Mr S C Nicks
This was our first time to the island & this Hotel, as a family we were on a budget & I have to say I felt we were well rewarded for our choice. The place whilst a little rough around the edges but was very very clean, the staff excptionally helpful & the rooms were of a good clean standard. The Inclusive breakfast was not to everyones tase but there is a fantastic bakery 5 mins down the road that did the job. Prices at the pool bar were excellent as was the quality of the food and drink served. The pool area was kept clean and tidy but was in need of a little running repair here and there. The amenities around the pool were plentiful and the attitude towards the children by the staff was fantastic! Access to the beach was excellent & the quality of the beach & beach amenities was fantastic. If you want a great relaxing venue where it is not too comercialised then this is the place for you. We as a family will be going back to the hotel for our next holiday in Aug 2008. The only thing I will request this year will be a room wiith a balcany.

Santorini is a stunning island with some of the best coastal views you wll ever see. Fira is a must but wise to go early (bus stop opposite Dorians) it's only 2 euros to get there and only a 20 minute journey, but as many cruise ships moor there if you go early enough you may not get caught in the queues for the cable cars or a donkey down the 600 steps which we walked down. It's a bit smelly with around 80 donkeys going up and down but it was a great experience and one of the highlights of our holiday - a must do!
Kamari can be got to by water axi which is 4 euros each (each way) but a nice journey around the coast however Kamari is even more commercialisd than Perissa and very very expensive ( We paid 10 euros for a beer and an ouzo and lemon)
Overall had a great holiday but that was down to being well advised of where to go.
Had I stayed on the front of perissa all week I don't think I would have enjoyed it
Another big plus was 'Jago' who worked the bar in the Rena. Top bloke and very funny with his 'Kalimari' every morning instead of Kalimera. He brought us fruit every other day for nothing and is a font of nowledge if you need to know anything
Overall a nice holiday with stunning views but for those who like tradittional Greece this may not be for you unless you fine the little places we do
