Myself, my partner, and 2 friends have just returned from a fantastic week at El Vita!
We had booked 2 studios which were very basic but we only really used them to sleep and get ready to go out! The towels and bed linen were only changed twice during our stay, which we thought was quite bad. There is air conditioning which cost 60 Euros for a week or 100 Euros for 2 weeks.
The pool area was fantastic with loads of sunbeds with mattresses on, and umbrellas also. The pool bar area was great too; menu was ok for snacks and cooked breakfast, reasonably priced too.
On a Tuesday and Fri. night there was a bbq which was 7 Euros each, which we enjoyed, and then there was karaoke which after a few drinks we got into the swing of things!Helen, the lady who did it all sang too, she was great.
We must mention the pool bar staff, Foti, the 2 Petros', and last but not least Crazy George! They were all so friendly and helpful, George had us in stitches, and all the kids loved him!
Lardos village was about a 40 min walk, we can recommend Roulas(which is owned by Crazy Georges uncle),and Valentinas, where Petros from the pool bar worked in the evening.
Pefkos is also about a 40 min walk the other way which has all the shops and bars and a lovely little sandy beach.
We ate out in Lindos which was approx 10 Euros in a cab, it’s beautiful there. We can recommend the Courtyard bar and Qupi nightclub if you fancy a boogie. It doesn’t open till midnight though so expect to get home in the early hours!
We had never been to Rhodes before and are planning to return! Enjoy!

This was the best holiday ever the resort was great the staff were the best we have booked to go again in May and September and we never go back to the same place twice.
This is a first for us I can find nothing to complain at all about I just cannot wait for may the bus stop was just out side the staff would phone a taxi for you as we used to eat in Pefkos a lot in the evening we went to a Greek wedding as well that was something to see the locals were so friendly.
This was a holiday I did not want to end and that goes for all my family.

This was such a boring holiday, Elvita failed to put on a single item of entertainment in our one week stay. Whilst the weather was quite nice the only place to enjoy was the beach! Until the Elvita staff decided to take in all the sun loungers as it was the end of season, this is not acceptable as there was another coach load of holidayers coming in when we left. We did try to make our feelings heard to the Elvita manager but he became very aggressive. The Elvita pool was full of algae.
Thomsons did however arrange a quiz night on the final night, but guess what? They didn't turn up so we all turned up and waited and waited and around 10 o'clock pm we realized it was not going to happen. We spent most nights doing crossword books in our rooms. Such a waste of time and money.
As for the rooms, they were nothing like the rooms we were shown on Thomson web site, they were not cleaned very well and were more like a prison cells. But I can say that one member of the staff Pedros was very nice.

These apartments are not the place to go in October. We arrived two weeks before the end of the season for a one week stay. It was like a ghost town as many of the restaurants and bars near the El Vita were closed, but the week began with hot weather (28C) and there was a great looking pool, a beach and plenty of sun beds.
The apartments themselves were a disappointment as they were very basic and looked nothing like the pictures advertised on the Thompson website. Other guests said the same thing and one couple had to change rooms three times for various reasons, including bad smells.
Entertainment was non-existent (unless you include barman Pedros' dodgy but amusing dancing). On the Tuesday we were promised a Greek Night with a barbecue and karaoke by the pool, but it had to be cancelled due to a storm and it wasn't rescheduled for later in the week.
Also, our Thompson Rep organised a quiz night on the Friday. He posted leaflets on the Friday morning then failed to make an appearance.
I found the owner intimidating, unpleasant and unapproachable. Those who complained about the lack of entertainment were shouted at, ignored or told to go away. On the other hand the bar staff were as friendly and helpful as they could be.
The area was ok and there are loads of cats here which I presume are strays, fed by kind holidaymakers. We walked to the nearby towns of Lardos 20 mins to the left on the main road and Pefki which is 30 - 40 mins if you go right down the main road.
If you go to Lardos you know your abroad. The locals are friendly and obviously used to the heat because many of them were wearing jumpers. This town isn't loud, but it's full of life and interesting characters. We went to Yamas bar which serves drinks and snacks and Roulas restaurant which serves excellent food and the home made tomato soup was under two euros and I can honestly say it was the best I ever had!
Pefki is full of cafe's restaurants and bars and in the evening it's lit up like Vegas. We went to Nostalgia restaurant which was probably the most high class restaurant we went to. They had an impressive water feature and typically Greek alabaster decorations on the walls. We were entertained by a small ginger kitten who visited many of our fellow diners and proceeded to sit at the next table and chew on the table cloth to our great amusement! The waiter encouraged him to get down but it seems cats are tolerated as they keep vermin away.

Overall my husband and I wasn't that impressed with the resort, the room was basic but functional. The cleaning could have been better and the towels and bedding changed more regularly. The kitchen was very basic but useable. The rooms situated at odd angles (our bedroom window overlooked someone else’s balcony!)
There was absolutely no entertainment in the week we were there. The rep was supposed to be doing a quiz night but didn't show up! The staff were rude and unhelpful, they only seemed interested in each other.
Lardos in a whole is very small and quiet, the village is about 20 minutes walk away and consists of a few tavernas and restaurants, which are lovely but again very quiet. October is obviously end of the season in Greece so I understand it quietening down but the hotel staff had lost interest completely. The pool was freezing and the pool bar wasn't very good, the food wasn't that great.
You can get a bus from outside the hotel which will take you most places on the island, we paid E4.50 each and went up to Rhodes town, which is somewhere you have to see if visiting Rhodes, it takes about 1 1/2 hours to get there via bus but it's worth it. We've been to Rhodes 4 times now so we love it and know that there are some wonderful places, but I won't be visiting Lardos again and certainly not El Vita.

We stayed for 10 nights at the El Vita Hotel in August 2006. We had a very spacious room with a good kitchen area. The bathroom was rather basic though and we had to ask to have some clean towels on one occasion.
The cleaners could have been better. The hotel pool was excellent and heated. The snack bar was ok. The hotel managers were ok. It was a hotel dominated by families and couples would be better off going to another hotel. It was a little noisy at night too.
There were just a few tavernas and the odd bar near to the hotel. We spent most of our holiday in Lindos which is fabulous. The beach at the hotel is ok but rather pebbly and rough looking in some parts and the sea is rocky underfoot.

Me and my girlfriend thought it was a great place to go but could have been much better. There wasn't enough entertainment and most of the staffs attitude was terrible. There where some nice little bars especially one which stood out for us which is called The Gallery which is situated just outside the grounds of El Vita.
We also thought the cleaners were rude and very interruptive and it would help if they washed and changed the bedding more regularly. We thought the pool was very clean although there were a few dangerous parts as my girlfriend cut her foot on a screw which was sticking out of a faulty lighting that they had fitted into the pool for after dark, even though you weren't allowed into the pool after dark anyway!.
We talked about it and have decided that Greece is a nice place especially the weather but if we where to go again it wouldn't be at El Vita.
