Alpha Hotel

I only got to this hotel because of the price but i have to say it was such a nice place to stay for a week. It was about a 5 min walk to the train station which you paid only 1 euro for a ticket, a 2 min train drive to Sorrento for a more busy place with shops, bars and resturants, supermarket up the road, resturants and bars. We stayed here as a family of four in one large room with our two young sons sharing our room. My wife and I stayed at the hotel from October 08-14 and the room on the second floor we had was spacious and spotlessly clean.It had lovely furniture and a large bathroom with jacuzzi bath/shower which was very welcome after some of our long walks around the surrounding area(7 hours around Pompei and I lost count after 1500 steps down from Ravello to Amalfi via Atrani). Stayed at this hotel for 2 weeks (21 Sep - 05 Oct 2007) and can describe this hotel in one word... EXCELLENT !! A spotlessly clean hotel with large comfortable rooms. First Rate staff for whom nothing was too much trouble and were always cheerful and helpful and made all guests feel very welcome. It's been a long time since I was genuinely made so welcome in any hotel. Quiet location, views of the bay of naples, helpful proffessional staff.

We stayed at this hotel for a week from the 7th September 2007. To be honest, given the previous reviews, we were a little disappointed. Our room, although huge, was on ground level with no view at all with terrace being right next to the kitchen outlet grills. The Jacuzzi shower unit did not work, but did manage to soak the entire bathroom. We did not ask to be moved as our rep was on airport duty and once we had unpacked it was too much trouble to repack and move. I booked this hotel through Citalia and for a special birthday. The pictures in the brochure are a little out of date and really do not do the hotel justice. We stayed for 1 week half board. The room was spacious and quiet. Our balcony faced the mountains not the road. The room had a flat screen TV with English channels, safe and fridge. It was cleaned daily to a high standard. The Alpha is a lovely small and friendly hotel. The staff are truely excellent. Both breakfast and evening meal are very enjoyable experiences - good food and relaxing - wonderful silver service. The rooms are lovely not 'plastic' built-in furniture. We asked and got a quiet room - so traffic noise not a problem although double glazing would cut out most traffic noise.

We had a very pleasant stay for 5 nights at the Alpha. The hotel itself is approx 5 mins walk from the station in Sant'Agnello. Sant'Agnello is the next town to Sorrento but effectively one runs into the other. What this means is that the centre of Sorrento is maybe 25 mins walk away. Alternatively you can readily go by bus or train. There is a bus stop outside the hotel but with an infrequent service. More frequent service from near the station but buses can be packed so you may not get on the first bus that comes along! Tickets to... more

Truly paradise....we stayed for a week and had a blast....do be so careful where you book...this hotel has character,lovely pool,amazing food and the staff are amazing.We knew them by name and they gave us loads of info n help...it is 3 mins on metro to sorrento centre we preferred to drink locally as it was half the price and people are much friendlier.Take our advice and if you are thinking of italy this is the hotel.......you can ring john or pat and we will gladly tell you all about it.
