We have just returned from a week staying at the Domniki, and can thoroughly recommend it. We have over the years stayed at few places and can honestly say this is the best place we have ever stayed at. Whislt the decor may be a little dated, it does not detract from the charm, it is without a doubt the cleanest, friendliest place we have stayed at. The staff are so helpful, nothing but nothing is too much trouble.the pool is a must and as for the bay, don't forget your goggles for the fishes... worth the look!!! Definately going back next year.

Just returned this morning from a fantastic week at the Domniki. We have been to Cyprus 12 times and this hotel/location has to be our favourite . The location is situated in the Pernera area of Protaras with plenty of shops and retaurants 5 mins away.
The rooms are spacious and spotlessly clean. The pool and surrounding areas are fantastic and the views are superb. You need to stay there to appreciate what this hotel is offering, I cannot praise it enough.
I just want to thank Sonia and her family who own the hotel for a wonderful week. They are so helpful and friendly and nothing is too much trouble. Shaun the Chef, thank you for your wonderful food.
We are returning in September and cannot wait, this will become our second home now!

This accomodation was excellent and was just as described in the brochure - which I think is rare. From arrival you were welcomed to the apartments and made to feel at home. The staff were all warm and friendly, helpful and eager to please. The rooms were exactly what was required for a self catering holiday and the restaurant food was top quality. I can't fault this holiday one bit. Excellent and thoroughly deserving of a 10/10 rating, and I have already recommended this to friends and family despite only being back 2 days :)

This is a truly fantastic place. All areas were spotlessly clean. Rooms were spacious. Our studio had 3 beds and plenty of room for 3 adults. The owners are very friendly and always available.
The bar opens onto poolside, and shows all football games, feature films & cartoons.
Food is well prepared, quickly served & from a clean kitchen.
The pool is clean and safe. The patio area overlooks the beach and lovely grassed areas slope gently to the sea. You can use sunbeds by the pool or on the grass, all of which overlook the sea.
Rooms are well serviced by lovely staff, and we felt very welcome.
Pernera is quiet at the end of the season, so we took a £4cyp taxi each evening into Protaras. By far the best restaurant here is Nicolas Tavern, situated at the bottom end of 'the strip' opposite the big Chinese restaurant. Fresh grapes were cut from the overhead vines, and you are welcomed with lots of genuine Cypriot hospitality.
Daytime temperature in early November was mid eighties, and we strolled about in shirt-sleeves at night. One torrential downpour for 30 minutes, then sunshine all the way!
Loved this holiday, and will return.

Just arrived back from a wonderful week holiday in Cyprus, we stayed at the Domniki apartments on Pernera beach in Protaras. The weather was amazing, we did not expect it to be 29 degrees each day.
The staff at the Domniki are very friendly, they are wonderful with children. The outdoor pool is great with lots of sunbeds around the pool. They also have a grass area with sunbeds and tables to eat and a main eating area near the pool looking out over the sea and you are just a step away from the beach.

My Husband and I have returned from a lovely 2 week holiday in Cyprus. We stayed at the Dominiki Hotel which is situated in the Penera Bay end of Protaras.
I couldn't of asked for a better holiday. It was Fabulous. The Dominiki is a small hotel with 35 rooms, ran by a Cypriot Family, who are very welcoming, friendly and accommodating. The hotel is situated right on a beach, fabulous location, the rooms are spotless and very clean. The bar tenders Andreas and Peter are lovely. We were on the third floor room 307, which had a stunning view. It is advisable to get the air con though as it does get very hot, It costs 3.cyprus pounds a night or £32.00 for 2 weeks.
Entertainment at the hotel is twice a week. Tuesday night is Cypriot Night and Friday is Barbecue and Karaoke night.
The pool is lovely and clean. To think this hotel is only a 2.5 star, its more like a 3 star. Right next door to the Hotel is Poisiden Diving School which my Husband tried out, for 29 cyprus pounds, and he thoroughly enjoyed it.
Buses run every 20 minutes and for 80 cents, you can go anywhere, from Protaras, to Aiya Napia. The bus stop is right outside Windmills restaurant.
At the Dominiki, you are made to feel right at home. Our rep Ross was brilliant, and always on hand to help if you had any problems. There is plenty to do in Cyprus and we went on plenty of trips.
We found a lovely little Taverna on the beach called Blue Bay, which does a lovely Klefteka (Cyprus Lamb Dish), it was lovely.
The only drawback for me was that everywhere you looked or went, there was new buildings/apartments/villas being built.
I cant wait to return next year and continue my glorious adventures

Having just returned back from Dominiki Hotel, myself, my husband and our 8 year old daughter had a fantastic week! The staff were very helpful and very friendly; nothing was too much trouble for them.
Location was great, fantastic views across the beautiful bay. Friday nights is barbecue and karaoke night. Must say food was excellent and what a choice to choose from. We were impressed with our room, very clean and a lovely pool and sea view.
We will be returning again!

The apartments are nicely situated close to the beach. The room was in need of up dating, the curtains and the bedding had seen better days, also the towels were faded and threadbare. The service to the rooms was irregular sometimes going four days and putting the soiled toilet paper in a bin. It should have been emptied every day.
The drinks at the bar was quite expensive, watch out if you are buying any soft or mixer drinks always ask for the bottle, if not they will fill the glass with ice and use half of the soft drink and charge you for the full bottle.
The entertainment was poor, the karaoke itself was the worst I have ever seen. You also pay extra for air condition but at three Cyprus pounds per night it is rather expensive.

Kipros-Hotel owner -very friendly-always checking on customers comfort. Sonya-Hotel Manageress-young, bubbly and always happy to help. Andy-Barman/Scouser-funny as hell and a great lad to be around-real joker. Andreas-Barman(Cypriot)- just like Andy. Petor-Barman(Bulgarian)-very shy at first but a very friendly lad.
The Domniki is by far the best hotel I have ever stayed in. All the staff are very friendly. Just walk off the pool area and onto the beach. Plenty of facilities around the hotel. Shop, watersports, pub with live entertainment all within 2 minutes walk from the hotel grounds. The Domniki also has a Scuba Dive School underneath the hotel.(Poseidon Diving School)Best 7 weeks of my tour.

I visited the Domniki apartments on 2nd May 2007 for a week and I couldn't be happier.
It is in a great location, a really nice hotel and friendly staff.
Pernea is a nice little place with plenty to do and is close enough to Protaras and Ayia Napa.
I will definitely visit again soon.

I have been going to Cyprus for around 11 years now and have stayed at the Domniki on many occasions as well as a number of other apartments in the Pernera/Protaras area. It is a nice family run business with many of the guests returning year after year. The apartments have everything that you need but if there is something that you don't, the staff are more than happy to help.
The apartments are cleaned on a daily basis with your bins being emptied each day and bedding and towels changed ever other day except a Sunday which is traditionally a family day in Cyprus.
You have local amenities very close by, the supermarket is just across the road and a wider selection of shops about a five to ten minute walk. The local bus services runs frequently so you can visit more traditional parts of Cyprus ie Paralimani, farmagusta etc.
The staff in the apartments and bar are very friendly. They offer pool side snacks and evening meals. They also offer a selection of specials on a daily basis. They offer entertainment a couple of times a week. The BBQ is well worth a visit.
If you are into water sports the area has a lot to offer scuba diving, jet skis etc and boat trips which leave on a daily basis so you can see more of the Island. I would recommend booking these locally as you can save an awful lot of money as appose to booking through the tour operators.
Protaras centre is only about a 20-30 minute walk or a short bus or taxi ride, or if you are looking for something really lively then visit Ayia Napa which is about a 20 minute ride in taxi and will cost about £10-£15 English pounds or a bus ride in and a taxi back. There is a taxi rank just across the road from Pizza Hut on the main road.
The beach is only a one minute walk from the apartments and has lovely clear water.
This resort has something for every one ranging from 0-100.

Our trip began at Luton airport on 30th September 2005. The flight (Helios), due out at 0700hrs, was overbooked by 50 people. We were just about okay, but 50 people behind us had to be told they were not going to be on this flight and had to wait until 2200hrs..!!!! Not a good start for them and certainly a worry for the future.
The Domniki Apartments are well placed less than 100m from the Pernera beach. This is a circular bay, with a mix of soft sand and some rocks. Crystal clear waters and very warm. Serviced by the hotel local bar/restaurants overlooking the beach (though drinks etc were much cheaper from the supermarket which was the just as conveniently sited).
Initial impressions of the room were of disappointment. We had a ground floor, inland facing, self catering studio. I can describe the room as being adequate. The floors were clean, but the lamp shades, cupboards (doors and handles) and work tops were grubby and stained. The wardrobe was tiny, barely enough for one person, let alone two. The bathroom was ok except that the decor and tiling were tired and run down. The mixer on the bath tap was broken with jagged edges and the fittings were generally corroded and in poor repair. The mixer tap was jammed on the shower setting, so the bath couldn’t actually be used.
Generally the room was run down, in need of refurbishment it was more like staying in a run down council bedsit than a relaxing holiday apartment.
The first night, having just arrived, one of the beds collapsed when I sat on it (and I am not exactly huge!) . The leg had given way and had clearly been like that way for a while, having been propped up with fingers crossed! The chap from reception kindly supplied a plant pot stand to prop the bed up. Luxury!
The reception itself had been abandoned, with a notice left on the counter telling you that the sister hotel next door dealt with that side of things.
The thing that bothered me most was that after the bar had shut, there were no staff at all in the hotel and there was no security so anyone could just walk in and out past the abandoned reception desk. Similarly, there were no safety deposit boxes in the room. When I enquired at the sister hotel (Pola Costa) I discovered that I could rent a safety box in the communal area of the reception of that hotel. Who would want to leave their valuables in another hotel? Apart from the inconvenience, it isn’t exactly reassuring. Consequently, we carried all our valuables, passports etc with us everywhere. Not exactly as relaxing and worry free as I had anticipated.
Domnikis facilities, apart from the rooms, were generally good with friendly bar staff. There was a daily maid service, but unless you piled your dirty towels in the bath, they didnt get changed. The towels, by the way, were tatty, faded blue with bleach stains on. Clean, I’m sure, but not exactly inviting.
The pool area is small but pleasant , with great views over the bay.
Pernera and the nearby Protaras are, unfortunately spoilt by the tacky, Brit attracting “Blackpool del Sol” karaoke and theme bars. Elvis impersonators, Tom Jones impersonators, pub quizzes, Irish bars and Del Boy Trotter theme pubs are mixed with MacDonald’s, Pizza Hut and fake “local” cuisine restaurants staffed by Czechs. If you want true Cypriot culture, forget it. This is Britain in the sun.
