" Fun, fun, fun "
Submitted By: Family GuyWe booked a silver caravan which was spacious, clean and well equipped. The only occasion we had to contact reception was when a circuit breaker tripped late at night. It was fixed within a fifteen minutes by a friendly maintainance man.
We have stayed at Park Resorts Camber Sands before and found that site too big and had too many folks for the facilities. California Cliffs is just right in that there are enough there to make it lively but not so many that it is overrun. Having said that you need to get into the club early on, around bingo time, to secure a good seat.
Special mention has to go to the entertainment staff, the Teamstars, who work from morning till night to ensure everyone, particularly the kids, have a great time. The staff do change from year to year but this years bunch were an absolute pleasure. My daughter (four) was entranced by Spike and Alistair so much so that a threat to tell them she had been naughty day brought out her best behaviour for the rest of the day.
Everyone at the site had a smile even the guy running the go-karts slipped us some extra tokens as the kids went on almost every day.
The whole holiday was topped on the last night when my two were given a special award (there were six) by the Teamstars which each of them has proudly put on display in their bedrooms. Everyone who joined in the daily actvities got certificates but the special award left my son (eight) speechless... not an easy task.
This is an ideal family holiday and I would not hesitate to recommend it. There is something to suit all ages from craft corner for under fives to a teenagers club called the mix, they even managed to get some sulky teenagers to work out a dance and perform it on stage at party night.

" Fantastic Family Holiday "
Submitted By: Miss N L MardellThe swimming pool was clean and lots of fun with a pool for babies/toddlers too. The food in the restaurant was of good quality at a reasonable price. There is also a Fish and chips takeaway which is good. The evening entertainment was superb. Our kids were so well catered for with the fantastic Team Stars and Sparkys Krew Club who were so enthusiastic and really interacted with the children. From 7.30 til 9pm it was all about the kids and it was non stop with competitions and dances. My 5 yr old daughter has returned with 5 certificates! I'm afraid I cannot comment on the entertainment after that as we were usually so tired it was back off to the caravan, but I heard it was very good.
I would strongly recommend a holiday at California Cliffs.
" New season, new start "
Submitted By: smorrisThe caravan was Bronze standard, we found this clean and exceptable and similar to a similar standard to our Haven holiday last year. The park was family friendly with all of the amenities that we expected from the brochure. Then pool was clean and the shop was reasonably priced and well stocked, not something that you can say about other holiday parks. The staff were friendly and the entertainment was fantastic dor children and later became fun for adults. The restaurant was reasonably priced, tasty and included pub food and costa coffee.
Being outside of Yarmouth was a bonus, we kept out of the hustle and bustle but still only had a five minute drive into Yarmouth itself and drove to Potter Higham to the start of the broads. The beach was 2 mins away but lovely and clean - very breezy out of season though!
California Cliffs offerend everything that we found from holidays from similar companies on a smaller and less crowded scale. The other reviews were probably accurate in 2007/2008 but I would really recommend it now. We booked our summer holiday for this year before we left and got a great deal, I can't wait! Don't be put off, they have obviously put in a lot of effort and it has paid off. I had a briliant time.
Advice: lots of tourist sites to visit for all areas
Activities: Grat Yarmouth, Sandringham, the broads

Submitted By: spilleddwarfOn arrival at around 3:45pm, we were greated by a member of staff, who advised us of where our caravan was and gave us a pack, detailing that in the event of a problem later on, we should call the EMERGENCY FIX IT LINE. (alarm bells should of rung at this point)
On arrival at the caravan we initially thought, well its not a long way from the main area and we wouldn't have too far to walk, this was the only benifit.
The caravan felt damp and smelt very musty, but seemed initially ok for our stay, on closer examination we found Cigarette butts in the bathroom, the toilet had not been flushed with stale urine in it. 80% of the windows were insecure, mould in all of the windows and on the walls. Carpets dirty and no attemt had been made to clean them, but inside we had been left a pack of highly starched sheets and pillow cases that needed to be torn apart.
Eventually we found the main heating controls in the bedroom, and worked out what to do to get some form of heating. We duly switched this on and put the fire on, only to find that the main heater in the bedroom didnt work, so we left it for a while in the hope it would heat up. This was not the case and we called the EMERGENCY FIX IT LINE, out came a young security guard who said he would log the job for tomorrow and get a Corgi engineer to check the heating, strange as Corgi do gas and this was an electric heater, but i was not going to argue with him.
The next day we went out early and on our return we asked at reception if the fault had been rectified as the Fix it man said. We were spoken to like we had no right to complain and that we should put up with it as it was a bronze caravan and if the heating worked it worked if not tough luck, we were not intitled to have any form of heating and we should think ourselves lucky that we had any at all.
The burly lady on reception would be a credit to any of HMP prisons as it was like talking to a brick wall, you had no chance of getting anywhere with her and it was more than her jobs worth to sort anything out. On return the caravan we thought we try a different angle and call the EMERGENCY FIX IT LINE, only to get another prison warden with the same attitude, put up, shut up and stop wasting her time, so far a happy holiday, but it gets better !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So to try and make life more comftable we left the fire on and went off to Park Finals Night, well what can we say at least some guests got up and sung and had a go to make the evening enjoyable, the entertainers were young and looked like they should still be in school, wearing corests and trying to take off Moulin Rouge.
Anyway, on return to our caravan it was extremally coser and warm as the fire had been on full whack for nearly 3 hours. off we went to bed, if you can call it a bed as you have to be under 5ft 4" to fit in it. At 6:00am the gas ran out as expected so again we call the EMERGENCY FIX IT LINE as instructed by the Burley Receptionists, we tried calling for nearly 2 hours as we were getting cold and had no means of cooking. So as we had no joy calling my wife went to Reception to try and find someone, to her suprise the main building was chanting that it was on fire and everyone should be evacuated, so she made a hasty retreat and came to the caravan.
With everything above happening we decided to cut our losses and go home after trying to find somewhere open on a Sunday morning that would be prepared to cook our breakfast, for which we did and duly drove through the rain home.
Park Resorts beware i will be calling to retrive some form of compensation for this shambles which is called a family hoilday park.

Submitted By: Miss C GrimesThe pool and drying areas were really clean and there was plenty of fun for the kids. The caravan we stayed in was a gold 3 bed roomed one with plenty of room and quite a large lounge. The pub drinks were a reasonable price (only what you would pay in your local).
Lots of entertainment, fun, and laughter. Cabaret was on most nights after the kids fun and the singers were actually quite good. They had karaoke for children on one night where the winning child gets a prize and all the non winners get a sticker.

Submitted By: Mr M KitchWe booked silver accommodation 2 bedroom caravan through Hoseasons. After leaving home at 5.00 am we arrived in Great Yarmouth around 11.00am. We had a look around Yarmouth and Hemsby, by this time it was around 15.30 so we decided to head towards our caravan park, by this time our kids were getting very exited at the prospect of spending the next week in the holiday park with pool, kids club etc.
On arrival our first impressions were good. We were handed our key and told where our caravan was. We opened our caravan door and all seemed ok, the kids rushed to their room and started to unpack. As we were unloading our car and seeing more and more of our accommodation we started to realise how dirty and unclean it was. Rice and crumbs on the worktop, mould on the windows. It wasn't until one of my daughters went to the toilet that we noticed the terrible smell that was coming from it. An unbearable smell of urine on a damp floor.
So back to reception we went, we got an apology and then got sent to our next caravan. The lady at reception said this one had just had its carpets cleaned and the floor maybe a little damp. I thought this was a bit strange but we took the keys and wandered off to our new van. This one was much cleaner so we unpacked again; kids went off to the pool everything seemed great our holiday had now started.
By about 7pm we were all pretty tired having left so early that morning. We sent the kids to bed and said we would give the club a miss the first night. The Mrs and myself decided to watch a little TV before we went to bed, after about half hour we started hearing a funny noise like a lawn mower going round the side of the caravan. I opened the door and to my surprise the noise was coming from the club, it was the sound of the microphone. We looked at each other and said as long 'as that’s how loud it gets were not too bothered, we're on holiday, tomorrow night were going to be in there anyway'.
But it didn't stop there 9pm the music started, I can’t really explain how loud this sounded in the caravan but I can only compare it to being in a tent in the same field as a rave. We thought it might calm down after 10pm but no it just got louder and louder. 11pm, 12pm, 12.30pm and finally at 12.45pm the music stopped, by this time we were beside ourselves, the kids by this time were overtired and we were all in a ratty mood.
Morning came and back to reception I went. I told them there is no way we could stay another night in that caravan. The only van they had was the one next to our one which would be exactly the same.
I questioned why the music was so loud and that there must have been other people complaining. The only answer I got was that people were here to enjoy themselves and basically made us out to be stuck up and not here to enjoy ourselves. On that note I asked for a refund and then was told I would have to write a letter of complaint to the head office and they were not authorised to give refunds. I managed to get the head office number and stormed off back to the van to get my mobile to give them a piece of my mind.
Head office didn’t want to know and said they didn’t have a complaints department and if we had a problem it should be dealt with at location..........GREAT........ What do we do now????
We remembered we booked the holiday through Hoseasons so as a last resort we phoned them..... What a difference they took our mobile number and said they would phone us back in 10 mins....... 10 mins later they phoned us and told us we could have a refund if they couldn’t find us another holiday within the area.
Having two young kids we said it would be great if they could find us another holiday nearby and then at least we weren’t letting down the kids. Within 20 mins they had found us another park with same facilities within 1/4 mile from where we were staying. They had reserved it for us and we could go and have a look before making a decision to stay.
The caravan was great 12ft wide 3 beds couple of years old... we had everything at park swimming pool, club, and kid’s club. Great.
Thumbs up to Hoseasons and all at Summerfields for a great holiday!!!!

Submitted By: Mr Lt's A JokeStaff some pleasant, some tell porky pies as they know you will be leaving at the end of the week and string you along. Staff can make a small problem a very large problem. Before booking all I knew was the brochure now I know why they don’t show you too much of the parks or vans in detail to each park. I will not return to any park resort you pay good money for a decent holiday. Read other resorts comments!!

Submitted By: Mrs K WhittleWe went to the reception to complain and were told that someone would meet us at the van to have a look, she could not believe how dirty it was even under the seats had loads of rubbish we were told to go out while cleaners came to do the job.
Later when we went back it wasn’t a lot better but we had a long travel and our day was going to be over so we did most ourselves. Then we found we didn’t have enough plates etc and bedding for all people staying in the van so we had that to sort we got bedding that day but the plate came day after.
Then when we were at the pool one day I needed the toilet so went to the pool one I could not even walk in it was smelly dirty you wouldn’t let our dog in it if you had one.
On walking round the site there were no dog bins for people to use so most just left the dirt on the ground, not the best thing for kids? I have came home with bites on my arms from the beds, so did the kids.
I have emailed park resort but have had no reply as yet but this is not the end of it think hard before going and taking your kids to California cliffs.

Very highly recommened.happy to sent pictures as proof..
