Aurora Hotel

My husband and I stayed in this hotel for 3 nights in September. This hotel is in an excellent location. Opposite the beach but slightly away from the centre of town. Having said that, it was only 5 minutes stroll along the water to the centre of town. We had booked a superior seaview room with terrace. The room was quite basic but clean. This hotel was lovely and in a very convenient location in Amalfi. The staff at reception were very helpful on arrival and continued to be so throughout our stay. The room looked freshly painted and although small was very clean and had a little balcony opening up to a view of the sea. Breakfast was served on an outside balcony looking out over amalfi and with a pretty garden an potted plants surrounding. Take your sunnies though, it is very bright in the morning. My sister and I spent 5 days here in July 07, sharing a suite with sun terrace. The room was very clean and the bathroom modern and spacious. We elected for a suite with sun terrace for the view, although being on the top floor, it required an extra set of stairs after exiting the elevator. Watching the marina activities made for great entertainment, day and night. The Aurora staff were very helpful, carried all our bags up the extra steps. We stayed in the fully self-contained apartment which is situated away from the hotel right behind the Duomo and the piazza. It seemed brand new and was very spacious and beautiful. No seaview like the hotel but great value for money. We enjoyed shopping and cooking our own meals and saved lots of money that way. On a big trip it is good to go self-contained when it is available. It's a good break from hotel rooms. Amalfi is amazing. Loved the walk to the old paper mills. Loved the gelati shop on the corner!

We spend 3 nights in this nice hotel end of May and had a wonderful time. The staff was very friendly and helpfull. Amalfi is small town, but in the center it can be a little bit noisy. Hotel Aurora is just a short walk away from the center in a more quiet spot (dead end street) and directly on the coast. The breakfast is ok. If the weather is nice, the breakfast is on the nice terrace with beautiful flowers. The rooms were very clean. We would go again any day.

My friend and I stayed at the Hotel Aurora for 3 nights of our 10 night Italy trip. I loved it! For the price, and being a 3 star - this place was lovely. (and I'm very picky!). We reserved a sea view with balcony. I think we were on the 3rd floor and loved the room and the view. I liked that the location was at the end of the street which reduced some of the noise, yet was completely within a short waking distance to the center of town as well as the pier. My son and I stayed at Hotel Aurora for 2 nights in April. We have been home now for one week, and I still find myself missing Italy! I wish we had booked more time in Amalfi, because our stay at Hotel Aurora was so wonderful, and I was certainly not ready to leave! Our room (304) was absolutely beautiful, and had a big lanai to enjoy the sunshine and gorgeous view! Our stay at the Aurora was wonderful. We enjoyed the location, the friendly staff and the accommodations. We appreciated the attention from Andre for anything we requested. We shall return.

My husband and I stayed one week at the Hotel Aurora in Amalfi and it was not long enough! We had a great room facing the ocean and their own private beach. The rooms are huge and beautifully furnished with the best bathrooms we have seen in many years of traveling. Gorgeous tiles! Gigantic bath towels. Just returned from an enjoyable stay (3 nights) in Amalfi at the Aurora Hotel. Previous reviews, especially the ones dating back to 2004, have not been particularly favourable, but wife/I thought we'd give the place ago Firstly, hotel is right on the bay area - can be a bit noisey but equally it makes for pleasant viewing of the local life.
