i am no travel critic, but i know good when i see it and this aint a 4star hotel. The staff are friendly and helpful. the rooms are cleaned daily but youbetter like the news channels, thats all you get in english.I had a room overlooking the front and the noise was constant. You make friends real quickly by the pool as your only six inches away from the next sunbed. The pool is ok but the sun is on one half in the morning and the other half in the afternoon. The canteen, yes canteen is chaos.it takes a couple of days to work out were to find things and when you do you wonder why you bothered.Go half an hour before it closes and you might get a table to your selves. The AI is a waste of time unless your an alcoholic. We ended up eating out to save our sanity.AH, the roof terrece is ok.
- Advice: stay away

I would recommend this Hotel, Rooms very clean and Spacious, Food very nice, good variety and choice. The only complaint was being charged every day for the Bed to go on the Sunlounger, Big rip off. Also if you want to upgrade your Board Status to All inclusive do so in England because the Hotel Charges 23Euro's per person per day. The Staff very Pleasant except the Bar Staff.
- Advice: Very nice

We visited Fanabe Costa Sur Feb 2009. The rooms were great clean with great balcony view. Great location only 5-10 min walk to beach, shops across the road, tuesdays and thursdays cheap market near by. Great Amenities eg. Tennis court, football pitch, golf course and lots more. Restaurant busy in winter so i would think there would be a lot of waiting in line in the summer but apart from that great food.
- Advice: Great shops along the beach front
- Good For: Beach

we arrived early hours of the morning,to our surprise we were told that a cold buffet was available for us if we were hungry,[never had that option before]we were grateful after a long trip, our room was just as requested sea view, spotless very comfortable.rooms cleaned everyday, fresh towels given,we were all inclusive ,had tv in room [rarely used] restaurant was spotless.waiters waitresses nicely dressed and only too willing to help, the food was excellent, plenty to choose from.all named so you knew what you was eating,as soon as a plate was emptied it was taken away ,you could eat as much as you liked.i did[hence gained half a stone] the desserts were just as yummy. ther was also a buffet outside with a selection of ham, cheese, cakes ,all kept hygenically in refridgeration.oh and a fantastic selection of flavoured ice creams, with scoops to put in tubs[you must try the rum and raisin]this was available all day. the evening entertainment was nt too bad.had male singers ,flamenco dancers, and our fave was the animation team who put on a show from grease.they mimed the songs words to perfection.the dancing was really really good [our fave show of the week] they put there all into iy.well done to them, goodness knows what time they had to rehearse that.nothing was too much trouble with the staff.we were a short walk from the sea, sand is black but further up its normal sand,we have the local bus service next to hotel, also a market there twice a week.opposite two shopping centres, and more within a short walk from hotel,a trip to los cristianos was just over a euro each, local buses i recommend much cheaper than taxis though they not too bad .transfer to hotel is about 30 to 40 mins. you can sunbathe on the roof wher there are sunbeds ,few umbrellas,2 pools [cold water]but great to cool down, children not allowed in pool[for obvious reasons, the roof is not a place for kids.we never used the sauna,jacussi.gym.the only downside of hol was that the sun beds at the main pool .only one side of pool side had the sun,the other was in the shade,as we did not have children we never saw it as a problem,we will return to the hotel,we had a lovelly relaxed hol.
- Advice: clean plenty of places to eat .people friendly
- Activities: nice walks both ways from sea front one way the classy hotels the other up to the harbour
- Good For: Beach

i have just returned from my 2 week stay at the fanabe hotel in costa adejeand i have to say although i had a fantastic holiday, i was thoroughly diappointed with the hotel, now dont get me wrong im not snobby but this hotel was not a 4 star hotel.
al start with the food at first it started off fine something we could all eat(we went as a family m, my partner ,our 2 children, my mum n dad and my younger sister aged 17)but after around 4 days the food started to get quite repetitive with chips and chicken on the menu everyday also salad but no meat only cheese to eat with it which may i ad was rubbery cheese and anything else that was on offer was covered in grease. for the 2 weeks we were there my 8 yr old daughter was well for 4 days ,the rest of the time she was ill with 1 thing or another which i put down to the disgusting food,my dad was also ill for 4 days my mum had an upset tum , me my 4 yr old and my partner all got head colds and headaches which we put down to the filth in the pool, now here comes the confusing part we watched the caertaker clean the pool every morning and they painted round the sides of it yet if you went under water with goggles on the pool was misty dirty and things floating in it like plasters, hairs, string off bikinis, that was to name a few and that was just the downstairs pool dont even get me started on the 2 upstairs pools. then this brings me to the bar staff, completely ignorant unless your spanish which might i add 9 people out of 10 were in this hotel it was rare you heard an english voice, and the drinks could not get u drunk what so ever we actually sat one night and drank every drink on the all inclusive menu and went to bed completely sober very disapointing and i am completely put off going all inclusive again as there was no point.i have to say it wasnt all that bad the rooms were very clean and cleaned every day with clean towels everyday we left a little tip everyday for our maid because she always did a great job, and the location of the hotel was really good away from the noisy bars but close enough for ya to crawl home which we did many a night.

well, me and my boyfriend never made plans to stay at this hotel, we were meant to be half way home when we arrived here!
The story is, our plane was delayed 29 hours and 30 mins, and after a few hours wait at the airport, first choice ended up putting all 250 passagers in this lovely hotel!
After checking in, by the wonderful hotel staff, we were given stunning rooms!!! then meal tickets to have our dinner ( were all very hungry ) you could eat as much as you like and still go back for more!!! it was great!!! beautiful food.
The waiters though were running about like madmen! made you ill watching them! but, i dont think they knew what hit them with an extra 250 scottish folk! haha
We had expected to be heading home in the morning, but a rep came to the hotel lobby to tell us all that we had to wait untill 3 o'clock to find out about returning to the airport, so we then had breakfast and lunch! again, all was beautiful food! (funny tasting bacon though )
With such a long wait inbetween meals and updates from the reps, me and boyfriend walked about the hotel, which had a rather small gym, 5 euros for the day, but they shut at 1 and open again at 4. hardly worth it. we seen a hairdressers which was nice. loads of things for kids to do which was tempting for us!!!
even though we didnt plan to stay here, we would recommed it!!!!!
- Advice: lovely place!!!!

I absolutely loved this hotel i could not find fault in it one bit, there wasa wide range of food to choose from, the entertainment was very enjoyable and the pool, well i couldnt have asked for a better one.
The room was very clean, there was a blackout curtain which made the room very cool when coming in from a hot day + the room was cleaned daily by very pleasent maids that greeted you as you left your room.
The pool area was extremely big + the pool was as clean as you can get
All in all i had a fabulous holiday + came home with a glowing tan (:
HIGHLY RECCOMENDED- do not listen to all the negative comments it is definately worth visiting.

This was our third visit to the hotel in the last 12 months so needless to say we like it there.
The hotel is in the slightly more upmarket resort of Costa Adeje and is very well kept. The hotel is spotless and I have to say that we have always found the staff to be very friendly.
Some have better English than others, but their English is 100 times better than my Spanish so who am I to complain. The rooms are spotless, the maid service exceptional and any requests are met with a smile and very quickly carried out. When you check in, you pay a small fee for the safe in the room and that includes a refundable deposit of 10 Euros.
You also have the option of paying to have the minibar stocked. You have to order a minimum of 10 items, so they could all be bottles of water if you wanted and then you are free to restock the fridge as you wish.
There is a fantastic supermarket opposite. However, as we had a young child with us, the reception provided the fridge completely free of charge. If you go half board, you have the option of choosing to eat either on a lunchtime or in the evening and personally, we preferred the lunchtime dining and then going out on a night but probably did about half and half this time.
The food is plentiful and there is usually a really good choice. This is a Spanish hotel and not a gourmet restaurant, and for the prices that we have paid, we consider this hotel to be excellent value for money. There is always fresh fish available cooked to order and fresh pasta dishes and there is also a meat section, again cooked to order. The food is very Mediterranean based, but that's why we go to Spain.
The breakfasts can be a rushed affair but try the omelettes when they are on, they were lovely, (if you can’t do without your English bacon and sausage and a good tea or coffee, there is a great English cafe near the Spa called the Pantry, home baked cakes and scones and the cheesecake is fantastic). Food aside, the hotel is in a great location, although up a slightly steep hill, but it's walkable, even with a buggy.
The swimming pool has a lovely section for the little ones, it was always warm and dependant on the time of year you go, the sun is usually still up in that area at tea time whilst the other side is in the shade. I can't really comment on the entertainment as we have rarely stayed in to participate but from what I have seen, it is your typical Spanish hotel stuff.
All in all, I would recommend the hotel as a great base. Spotless hotel and rooms, friendly staff and good food, and at a very cheap rate. It's not five star luxury but you are not paying 5 star prices so give it a go and have a great time - we might see you there next year!

We have just returned from a week at the Fanabe costa sur, a group of 8 of us went over for a relaxing holiday,
the good points....
room was lovely, big and clean, even had a tv with ITV and BBC 1 on it!!
food was fantastic, so much choice, and occasional theme nights in the restaurant
sunbeds cannot be reserved until the security guard opens the pool at 9 am!
Alcohol was not watered down!
bottled water and tea/coffee can be taken to the rooms.
bottles of wine can be ordered at the table at mealtimes (AI)
short walk from Fanabe centre and beach.
waiter sevice for drinks in the evening in the var, and they allowed more than 1 drink per person! in fact one night we ordered pretty much everything from the all inclusive menu to try!!
They do not take your AI band off when you check out!!!
The bad points......
No tea/coffee making facilities in the room
minibar in room locked (did not bother to open it!)
on the saturday lunchtime there was a huge queue to get into the restaurant, they appeared short staffed and food was not readily restocked!
they do not come round with tea/coffee at breakfast!
Entertainment is not fantasic!!
All in all a excellent hotel and well recommended for a relaxing holiday!!
