Having recently stayed at this hotel I would not go there again if you paid me.
My partner and myself are both wheelchair users. The room was adequate for our needs, with a walk in shower. Walk in being the word as the seat in the shower was so small you could not sit on it without fear of falling off. The entrance to the hotel was down a steep slope. My partner could only just manage this. I use an electric wheelchair and needed assistance from hotel staff both in and out of the hotel for fear of tipping the chair or falling out of it.
My partner ended up with food poisoning (we only ate in the hotel). I have come back with hepatitis.
Don’t take large cameras as you cannot get them in the safe. The cleaners broke ours and the hotel told us it was our fault as it was not in the safe.

Great hotel for families, we found it very clean and comfortable. Rooms where very big with plenty of room for the four of us. The food i would rate as good and the entertainment for children and adults was great. The staff were great and helpful. The entertainment team were fantastic and funny at all times. Great location nice and quiet. The hotel as got work going on around it but it did not spoil the holiday. I was sorry the holiday went so quick and i would go back there for another holiday.

we stayed for on week in this Hotel and could not find fault. Our room was overlooking the front of the Hotel and when we asked to be moved they did do this. we got a pool and sea view. The room was lovely and the maids worked hard each day. Bed changed three times and towels each day. There were three plugs in the room. The food was lovely and changed regularly and plenty of choice each evening. The staff were very efficient and seated you quickly. the buffet was well run. I would go her again.

We decided on the fanabe costa sur as we knew there had been a full scale renovation and we can only compare this with the other 4 star hotels we have stayed in this fabulous area.
Our room as anticipated was newly decorated with new mattresses etc however-the main bedroom light did not work. We reported this on 4 consecutive days and were promised it would be fixed so in the end we had to demand to see the manager on the fifth day. When we had been out we came back to not only the light working but a complementary bottle of champagne and two glasses which I thought was sweet of him.
There was also only one plug socket in the room and the balcony light wasn’t even wired up
The maids changed towels every day but I suspect never touched any of the surfaces all week and the floor wasn’t cleaned on two days.
They can get away with it as everything’s brand new but I feel over time if hygiene standards are not raised the hotel will become shabby again.
The dining room I can only describe as total unorganised chaos. The staff were having a problem keeping crockery supplied to demand on one occasion 10 people in front of me were queuing for soup waiting for soup, the stockpot was there but the bowls took 8 minutes to appear by the time it got to my turn the stock pot was empty and no sign of anyone to replace it.
We enjoy hotel buffets as a rule but we found the food disgusting. (Even the 75% Germans at the hotel were finding it hard to find something tempting) All the food was unlabelled and dried up. After the second day we decided to eat out in the evening and eat lunch in the hotel. What did really concern me was the length of time serving dishes of food were left out, I thought it was standard practise to change these every 15 minutes or so on some occasions we were in that dining room 1 hour and the some of the servers weren’t changed at all.
On a positive note, the view from the roof of the hotel was breathtaking and the hotel is in a lovely area, however although we have a winter break every year in this area we won’t be returning to the Fanabe Costa Sur.

We stayed at the Fanabe Costa Sur for the New Year and would offer the following comments.
The Hotel had just undergone a refurbishment and in truth should not have opened when it did. Most of the pictures show nice blue sky at the end of the pool bar, when in fact its now a building sight. If this is a 3 star hotel then it’s only just. Rooms are OK, although not over spacious, bathrooms need some ventilation if they are to last.
Hotel caters mainly for the German market so expect to struggle with the food in the menu. Reception staff are generally very good and helpful.
During our stay the following were not working two of the four elevators, fire alarm system, Jacuzzi, disco, fitness club, sauna, shops. The pool was very dirty each morning, however the pool man, got it nice and clean by the end of the day!!
In general an OK (just) hotel in a very good location, it need 3-4 months for all the building work to be completed, then it would be worth booking until then I would suggest booking elsewhere.

Although the hotel was due for a refit, we enjoyed a good standard of accommodation. Our room was large with a nice view, round spa type bath and with tv, hairdryer etc.
Nicely located about five minutes from the seafront, there was a handy supermarket across the road for bottled water and snacks, and some nice bars and shops nearby.
Food in the hotel restaurant was ok, but not exceptional...some days were better than others, but on the whole the food was fine and the restaurant clean. Entertainment was plentiful but we chose not to indulge -traditional dancing, acrobats and bingo etc.
During the day, the roof terrace area on top of the hotel was lovely, with two small dipping pools and fantastic views towards La Gomera island. Good place to relax and soak up the sun!
Overall this was a pleasant hotel in a nice area. Would visit again.

Hotel Fanabe Costa Sur On arrival we where pleasantly surprised by the hotel reception area, and cocktail bar. This opinion soon changed once we arrived at our room although we did have a view over the pool area, and the building site! The furniture was battered and agree with the previous TV comments.
The food on the first week of our holiday was a German menu, which was edible, but the meat was not always cooked properly. By the end of week one the food standard dropped to the point that we then ate out, along with frequent visits to the supermarket.
The attitude of the hotel staff (not all) stank, as they are well aware, as we were not, that the hotel would be closing at the end of April for a much needed refurbishment.
Despite all this the entertainment staff were the only saving grace, as they made a real effort in the evenings and throughout the day.

Rooms are good size and clean but avoid as best you can getting a room starting with a zero, they are on the ground floor with no direct sunlight or view, plenty of noise and are begging to be broke into! Fully agree with Mr O'Grady's comments on TV and tepid water. Food was of an average quality but good varied selection. If your going eat out one night do it on the Italian night (Wednesday I think) you WILL thank me, and also avoid the hot rice dishes. Plenty of room around the large pool and even more space on the roof, with a screened of nudist area, sun-loungers are free but a mattress is 1.5euros. Or you can go to any one of the nearby sandy beaches. Large bright reception area but the staff are curt and unhelpful.

The Fanabe Costa Sur Hotel is listed as Four Star, but I give it only Three Stars. The hot water was only tepid, not enough buffet space for the number of people using the restaurant.
The rooms and maid service at the Fanabe Costa Sur Hotel was good but the TV is rubbish. When will these hotels realise not every minute of the day can be filled at the pool or bar. People like to watch a film after a hot bath. Just no choice only eurosport or CNN. Unless you spoke German or Spanish.
One last gripe was that I booked an early call at 5.15. The call came at 5.30 when we were half way down the landing. The rest of the facilities were good, gym, sauna, etc.

Just returned from Costa Adeje. Resort is lovely, really clean and loads to do, quite cheap as well. Went with my husband and two daughters under the age of 5. The location isn’t two bad, there are shops around, but for evening entertainment on the beachfront the hotel is at the top of a steep hill.
Hotel could be better. The place is really clean and tidy, but I don’t think its a 4 star - when you compare it to the others around the resort. On arrival our room was small with only the one room to live and sleep in and a bathroom. It was decorated nice, but we had to be moved as we could see cranes, building work and our light switch wires were hanging out! We were moved after two days and the room was exactly the same, but with a better view of the construction site! It became a little awkward as there was no fridge, tea or coffee making facilities, nowhere to hang your wet beach towels or bikinis, and when you wanted to watch a bit of TV while you had a rest or something there was only Sky News.
The entertainment is OK although doesn’t start until after 10:30, but not really alot for kids - there is a kids club and a small mini disco and they do try their best though, but it takes time when everything is translated into 4 different languages. The pool also states no inflatable, no pushchairs and no reserving sunloungers. This was hard with two small children!
Overall the food was the worst, kids didn’t really enjoy any of it. Me and my husband found the breakfasts quite nice, but there were days when we didn’t want to try the evening meals. The restaurant is always really busy, and things take a while to happen, like eggs and toast and stuff, and staff didn’t seem too happy.
Our holiday was good, but I wouldn’t return to Fanabe Costa Sur.
