Kennedy Nova Hotel

When we arrived we were horrified that our room was looking into a sort of 'lift shaft' and in order to see the light of day you had to go onto a little balcony and look up 4 floors to see a few feet of sky! The photo on their website shows beautiful views overkooking the creek but to get this view you have to stay in a room with numbers ending 01 02 or 03. my partner and i have been coming to this hotel for many years, and find the place a dream. The rooms are very nice and well kept. The staff are very helpful and are willing to go out of their way where ever possible. Overall a very pleasent stay! I would recommend this hotel to anyone!

Walking distance to tons of restaurants and easy location for sightseeing pickups. Across the street from the harbor cruise boats. Only the rooms facing the street/harbor have a view and those cost extra. The room was nice and the service was good. Breakfast was included with the rate, and they offer a dinner meal plan which I thought wouldn't be good considering there's such a wide variety of restaurant choices steps away. It's a short drive to Vallenta.

Really liked the Nova: good location, on bus line and across from the promenade; excellent lobby where guests hung out in the evening chatting about the day; friendly staff; very reasonable dinners, with their coupons it was about 4 ML for a 5 course meal. Quality of meals varied from very good (lamb) to not so good ("Asia Night" - somehow they didn't get that sticky rice doesn't mean it's cooked 2 hrs). The discounted holiday was well worth the visit. Although we had a shaft room, the first few nights were very cold and so the excellent heating was very welcome and cosy.If you want a sunbathing trip then this is not for you. The roof is very adequate with pool, bar etc, though very small. the views over Valetta are amazing. Date middle of February through March 2005, After a very long flight I arrived in the late evening and very tired. I was escorted to a room on the second floor next to an elevator and the window faced the street. It was unacceptable to me. I came to rest and did not want to be surrounded by noise. I was not willing to spend a night there, so the manager looked for another room, I went up to the 4th floor, but the room was dark a small balcony looked into a shaft. It can be depressing. My partner and myself, stayed at the Kennedy Nova, from 16th nov till the 30th. When we arrived we were given a room with the shaft style outlook. We were not at all happy as this was a special holiday for us both, and we were promised a veiw by the tour company. We complained and were offered another room with more light when one came available three days later. We were given a higher floored rear room overlooking the streets of Sliema. The Kennedy Nova Hotel (Malta) is graded as a four star. The accommodation is such that it merits no more that two stars. The construction layout of this hotel resulted in the majority of the rooms being "shaft rooms" ie rooms with windows or doors looking onto a ting balcony, with a view to a similar room fifteen foot distance. Natural daylight can only be sighted by peering upwards. The lower the floor level, the gloomier the room. Two weeks was spent in such conditions and it was most depressing - the holiday spoilt.

We enjoyed our stay. the hotel is in need of a fix up as the common areas should be upgraded a bit. The employees were excellent. The location is very convenent but learn about the bus service as soon as possible. There is local stops in front of the hotel but a few blocks away is a major stop. The bus system works well once you figure it out. We did not think the food ws great but we were hoping for more Italian food entries. We would go back and would enjoy our visit. Malta is a good trip.
