lovelly place to vist
the sunseeker hotel complex was well and truly nice and the staff couldnt of been more helpful and the jacuzzi and indoor pool allthough small was good as well the mini supermarmarket was well equipped but if you wanted anything different the staff would get it for you the appartment was very clean but a bit dated and we did try the oven one day but it didnt work that well but that wasnt a real problem when we arrived they had even provided us with a welcome pack which was a godsend as we rea lly were to tired to go out shopping and wanted a drink and a bite to eat the area was nice and peaceful and not to far to shops and bars
value for money
we stayed in a 3 bedroom apartment in this complex with our 3 teenage sons . it was good value for money, the rooms were not very clean, particularly behind the doors; the light bulbs were barely adequate-some other guests had bought brighter bulbs and replaced the originals.it was possible to hire an electric fire for 1mtl a day, and also a remote control for the t.v. we didn't bother with the t.v. as there were only a couple of english speaking channels anyway. there is a bar on the ground floor but i think the t.v. was on a sports channel most of the time. the owners were very efficent and courteous, but we felt we were being watched every time we departed and entered.we curtailed our stay here as we discovered some unwelcome 'livestock' in our rooms on several days. this complex is very handy for shops, cafes, restaurants and there is a promenade along the seafront.we ate at "venus" restaurant one evening (as reccommended by lonely planet) which we could not fault - not cheap but if it's good we don't mind paying. also reccommended by lonely planet was "da rosita" - let's just say they were having an incredibly bad night. one of the local pubs -"fat harrys" was typically english. there was live music at least 2 nights of the week; the beer was very good. we went there on new years eve and the whole family had an enjoyable evening, everyone seems to go there from babies in pushchairs to real golden oldies. the legal drinking age is 16!!! we were on malta for about 3 weeks and enjoyed the ambience so much that we have bought a property there.if you want to stay at a 4* hotel, check out the 'golden tulip vivaldi ' in paceville.
Clean & Friendly
Had a great time we had a 5 month old baby we had a cot clean beding, towels the maids were great, reception where fantastic. All sports coverage in the bar downstairs. Pool could have been warmer but as a base for malta Fantastic.Rooms are large and have all you need with a good shop down stairs.
Wonderful stay in the SUnseeker Holiday Complex
My husband and I just came back from our 4th holiday in Malta. A country that we just love to visit. The other three times we have stayed in Mellieha and we decided that now it was time to try something new. Our in stay in the Sunseeker Holiday Complex in Buggiba has been very joyful. The apartment had everything we needed and the family running the hotel is so friendly and helpful - and so is the whole staff. There is a swimmingpool on the roof where you can enjoy the beautiful view over the sea. A supermarket in the basement with everything you need. Furthermore the complex offers a laundry, jaccuzzi, indoor pool, fitness room, bar, restaurant and a nice sitting area in the reception. We can only recommend a stay to others and would not hesitate to go back ourselves! Thanks for a wonderful stay!
superb
We arrived at 01:00 and were greeted by the night porter. Check in was quick so were in room within 10 minutes. The room had all the amenities that you wanted but all I wanted was to unpack and get to bed. The room was a studio with seperate kitchette with cooker, fridge and table with all the required essentials. The bathroom/shower were off the bedroom small but clean. Next morning was the meet and greet with a rep called Vince. We just had our return tickets checked as we knew we didn't want to book trips or car hire. It is best to take a walk up to tourist street and book all your trips with Mary at the Freestar shop. Very cheap and reliable. We had various trips and the drivers were prompt, gave running commentary on route to destination. The sunseekers is good value for money and very friendly staff all round. The breakfast is very good value for money. The mini supermarket in the basement was an added bonus and had all that you wanted so you didn't have to carry 6 bottles of water miles in the midday sun. Certainly I would go back to Sunseekers again and again as it made my holiday. Well done to all at sunseekers and Thank-you. From room 1023
Loved the Sunseeker
Stayed at the Sunseeker Holiday Complex with Husband, Daughter and Friend for two weeks. Enjoyed it. Family run and very welcoming. Staff were exellent. Would go back again.
What a change!
We are in our 50's and went to malta 10 years ago, frendly people, cheap food and drink. WOW what a difference now! All of Malta is a building site-probably due to them joining the Economic Union (EU) Food is no longer cheap, all our meals + a beer worked out at over £20 for 2 people. Beer is usually 80cents (£1.33) for the local Lager and £2.00 for english beer.A single plate of food was from ML3.75 (£6.22) and we found it best to buy an 'eat all you like' for ML5.75 (£9.55) We stayed at the Sunseeker in Bugibba for 7 nights in may and it was clean, friendly, had a rooftop pool (small), an indoor pool (not heated) gym, sauna, small shop. Great as we was allocated on arrival, and didnt know what to expect. some say the resort is like Blackpool! no, its small, yes it has Dodgems on the seafront, but not tacky! We caught the local busses, to go toValletta, Sliema, Mdina (the silent city-which wasnt as they have found an ancient wall in front of the church whilst repaving; now has diggers, lorries and workmen all around) The bus drivers are mad (one of ours was holding a mobile phone by his ancle and texting-looking up every 15 seconds to see what side of the road he was on! he spent more time in the 30 minute journey on the wrong side of the road and very nearly hit a stationary car in front, and its an experience to use them (most busses, date from the 50's, are single deckers and full to overflowing. They only cost 50cents (85p) for any length of trip. We enjoyed ourselves, but we were better off with our memories of how it used to be! To anyone thinking of going ,I would suggest you leave it a few years-the building works may have finished and they may even have built some decent roads with the EU money!
Lovely run by people that cared about you continously.
My wife and me found this superb hotel before we left Malta last year, and we booked for 10 weeks this year. Arrived middle of january and left end of march. The hotel delivered all we needed. We really felt we got much value for money . We appriciate the caretaking of the owner , his wife , his daughter and his son . And not to forget a serviceminded and helpfull staff. Through cosy conversations in the evenings with other guests in the hall , it seemed that others were as satisfied with this apartment hotel as we were. It is probably no great surprise that most of this people we met in the evenings and ourselves included , has booked an apartment for next year.
Reliable as ever !
Standards at Sunseeker are much higher than other similarly rated hotels in my experience which amounts to 8 visits to the island... It is family run , is very close to sea and centre of Bugibba,is cleaner than competitors, has an open pool " on top" and is realistic with room tariff.
Lovely friendly welcome
We have stayed at the Sunseeker Holiday Complex every year since 1993. In 1998 the complex underwent a complete new makeover...and it was excellent. The Sunseeker is family run by George, his daughter Clare and Son Neville. Not forgetting the army of staff that help to keep the complex running smoothly. Go to the Sunseeker Website for all that is offered to the holidaymaker. For a little local information, the sea is less than five minutes away but it is a rocky coastline although there are areas to sunbathe on. The waters all around Malta offer excellent fishing either standing on a rock or in a hired boat. On a saturday and sunday evening taking a stroll on the front may take you a little longer than usual, because it would seem all the locals get dressed up and walk along meeting family and friends stopping and chatting and moving on. It is lovely to see, and such a friendly atmosphere. At the bottom of the road from the Sunseeker there is a Gala bingo hall open all day sometimes into the early hours in the summer months(thats just for those who may be getting withdrawal symtons from back home). Summer time in Bugibba can be hectic but you will find that the noise from the bars seems to quiet down around midnight. There always seems to be a fiesta in a town somewhere, try booking at one of the local tour shops much cheaper than a holiday company and you still get picked up / dropped off at your accomodation. If going to the Sunseeker from November - March it could be worth you booking direct, making your own holiday arrangements. The weather is still good. One Boxing day I was in short sleeves and shorts on the beach front. February can be a little too wet for my liking. When in the resort go to the Boccha club, pass McDonalds, and watch the home team play an evening match, its similar to green bowling (well almost).
