This is a nightmare of a place. ive just spent 2 weeks there with my 2 children my husband and my auntie and her son... Please dont waste your money. The food is horrendious there are sprouts sprouts and more sprouts. We were having to wait for snacks at 3pm to get a meal that would actually not make us ill.. Make sure you take plenty of Euros as its deposits for everything including your air-conditioning. Your evening entertainment is the staff stripping and showing you how to make irish coffee!!! We had an occassion at the pool, there was music playing in the back ground from the entertainment and a song came on called "what the ****" and you couldnt blag the kids that it was staying something different. When you check in take your passports straight back as they are kept in a box behind the counter where everyone has accsses to. The water in the showers is as if they are running out of water as it wouldnt even fill a cup up. And worse of all the place is riddled with ants and wasps they are every where all day every day. The First choice rep is just a waste of time being there as she will clearly state to you, its not a first choice hotel she is there just for your welcome meeting and to book tours!!!!!!!! The pool is fine though :)

Having recently stayed at Electra Village two weeks ago. Me and my family found it very, very unpleasent.I went there with my three children and husband, with an open mind having read previous reviews beforehand. We arrived to find staff very unhelpful, as we are a family of five we had two rooms. However, they didnt even know we had any rooms booked and left us to last, to be seen, after been first in the queue. Once the rooms had all been sorted out we went to unpack and get settled in, only to find one room's front door unable to open easily. Once inside,to say the room was basic was an understatement. As the room decor and bedding was very dark and dismal.
After having a brief look around outside, we returned , only to be greeted by cockeroaches running all around the room. After checking there was none in the bed, we discovered uncleanliness of the sheets, the pillows, mattresses and throw-overs. Yoou could maybe understand one room been a little unclean, but not BOTH.
Also, we had an electric shock off a socket nearby the fridge, live wires exposed from light fittings, holes and mould in curtains.
Food was very basic, and you were likely to dine with ants at all meal times. Food was bareable but not up to a good standard.
After three days COULDN'T STAND IT ANYMORE. So we upgraded to a five star, baring in mind the ELECTRA WAS SUPPOSE TO BE A FOUR STAR ON OUR TICKETS, regardless of the star rating, all hotels should at least be clean. So after paying for an all inclusive holiday, we found our selves only recieving half board at an extra price. But was worth it to see the look on my children's faces at the other accomodation, at how clean and tidy it was.
Overall wouldn't reccomend this hotel to anyone.

Well, have just returned from 2 weeks at Electra Holiday Village.
Had a fantastic time, met some fab people & had very very hot weather.....
Plus points for this resort, entertainment staff Annis & Stella are fab & work very very hard at making your holiday fun for you
Quite close to Ayia Napa - can walk in within 15 mins
Close to beaches
Pool area clean & well maintained
Close to bars & restaurants
Bad points for this resort, rooms could do with being updated but not too bad
Bar staff need some manners and tips in customer service
We had ants but went to reception who gave us some spray and we did not really see any more during our stay
We had a fantastic holiday & really enjoyed our stay at Electra... 2nd time we have been there now.....

Arrived at Electra late on 12th May 2010 for 2 weeks, family with 2 daughters aged 8 and 6. We hired a car from Budget to pick up at the airport but be warned the cars are not at the airport you have to walk a far bit to a car park then get taken via mini bus to a back street in Larnaca to collect your car, then take it back to this place to return it so we got to the hotel much later than others who had the transfers.
When we arrived at Electra we were greeted by a man who was very helpful and took us to our room. We were in room 1213 (Superior) on first impressions looked fine, a little dated however it is only a base. On waking the following morning we could not beleive the view we had it was amazing, the sea was just in front of us just wow! The balcony was wonderful and very private. On opening the front door we had a lovely view of the childrens park and the lovely clean swimming pool we had the perfect room. We had to pay for aircon because we stayed in May which cost 125 euros which was a lot but it was needed. The location was the best just a few steps from the beach and 100m from the strip in aiya napa (just 5 minute walk throught the path). We stayed half board this was good for us as it is expensive to eat out however the food was not the best but you could find something to eat, we were glad we didn't stay all inclusive, however again the drinks were expensive in the hotel costing 12 euros for 3 cokes and a pint. If you are half board be warned when the waiters ask you what drink you want you do get a bill for this before you leave, we though you had a drink with the meal however had a phone call from the reception saying we owed them money for the drinks!!
There was entertainment all day long with quiz's water polo darts etc etc, the entertainment team works very hard, they are hotel run and not first choice run. Even though it is a first choice exclusive there are lots of germans who use this hotel however there were no issues with reserving their beds. A lifeguard was on duty everyday which was great. My girls went to kids club which was run by Regina who was fantastic with the kids i had no issues leaving them at all, kids club was 10-12 and 3-5 then mini disco at night which wasn't that great. All staff were very friendly. On the beach there was watersports, they were quite expensive but great. Nice little beach to, nissi beach is a walk away but hire a car and there are loads of quiet beaches to find.
There are some fab places to eat and drink, theres a cocktail bar called paggios which did nice food the furnishings was lovely, you must go to Protaras and eat at the american indian diners the food is outstanding and the welcome is the best we have ever had anywhere we have been 10/10 there.
Overall we had a great holiday we had this holiday for £1369.00 for the 4 of us half board, i would probably go back but only if it was a good price.

Me and my family had an amazing time. It was beautiful. The beach was right on our resort and my daughter absolutely loved hanging around down there at night with a boy she met ;] ii didn't mind thou because it was only a 2 second journy. They also had a lot of places to hang around and explore with them being teenagers, and the reps were amazing towards the children. The food was delicious and fresh, i couldnt get enough of it. The entetainment was great for families. I do recomend the water jets on the beach outside the hotel. The kids and us had an amazing time, there so much fun. Overall the holiday was a blast and i would defo go ther again. Infact i have even booked us a holiday for 25th August 2010 to the exact same hotel. :)

This was our first visit to Cyprus and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Electra Village. It is very much geared to families with young children but as a couple we could find no fault. Staff were pleasant and extremely helpful. Food was varied, fresh and plentiful. We normally eat out when on holiday but we had dinner for the first 3 evenings as it was such good value as well as being of a very high standard.
Some lovely fish restaurants in the harbour, Vassos Fish Taverna is well worth a visit. There is a lovely walkway on beachfront to Harbour in Ayia Napa. A pity this walkway isn't lit up at night, it would be lovely back towards Nissi later in the evening.
Electra Village is right on beach, but it is very rocky. However, a short walk to right has some lovely beaches, Nissi being our favourite.
Boat trips from Harbour are good value. We did jeep safari from Hotel with First Choice, which was very enjoyable, and Antonis our driver was great fun.
We will definitely be back to Cyprus again. Weather was about 35 degrees for the full week so it was very hot. Air conditioning in room was a must and as it was so silent we could have it on all night (necessary) without any problem.
All in all a fantastic holiday and I would have no hesitation in recommending Electra Village, although we will probably go to a different area next time.
We felt extremely safe both in Electra and the whole area of Ayia Napa, but then we were away from the centre. Maybe there, and earlier in the summer, might be a different story

As i'd never visited Cyprus before I obviously did a fair bit of careful research before choosing our resort and accomodation for the holiday. Like any resort/accommodation there had been some negative feedback but overall it had been positive. I can now only add to the positive 'side' as we had an absolutely fabulous time and the accommodation was more than adequate. I can only comment on the general accomodation as we had gone 'Self Catering' to purposely use the hotel as a base. My party consisted of myself, my partner and 2 children 15 & 10. We had been allocated a studio and this was more than adequate for our stay. The amenities were fine, kettle; microwave;toaster etc. Apart from breakfast we ate out mainly (as you do)
The rooms were cleaned almost daily (only 3 out of 14 not done) with bedding and towels also changed on a regular basis. We only had a small problem with ants during week 2 but this was dealt with using some spray.
There were plenty amenities on site including internet access and there was never any chance of getting bored. I can only comment that there was plenty of entertainment during the day for kids and at night for everyone, we didn't attend ourselves as it's not our scene (Not a boring git;like to hire a jeep and get out and about)but everyone did seem to be having a good time.
Reception were very helpful although if you are exchanging travellers cheques use the bank just down the road as they took 2% per transaction, which I thought was expensive.
Pool was good but not the size that appears in the brochure (clever photography)although it was clean and there was a Lifeguard on continuous duty. There was no silly 'out of hours' antics with the pool or overall as Electra have adopted a zero tolerance to any mis-behaviour and offenders will be "checked out with immediate effect"
Would I recommend Electra?.....Definately. Would I go back?.....Yes

We stayed here last year and had a wonderful week. Some have mentioned problems with ants and bugs and we initially had this problem. In a tropical climate though bugs are to be expected. A call to reception resulted in a maid calling within 15 minutes with ant and bug killer and she left the stuff with us should they return. The entertainment in the main was very good. A couple of the themed nights not to my taste but you can't please all of the people all of the time and others enjoyed it. The food was acceptable, again they have to cater for a wide range of tastes and there were always snacks available if food was not to your liking.
We hired a car for the week and saw most of the island, breathtaking beauty.
All in all, a great holiday and an experience I hope to repeat in the near future.

we have just come back from Electra Village, after a 2 week self catering holiday. We are regulars to Cyprus and have stayed here before, our room 1511, was well situated, over looking the pool and had views of the beach( just). We were impressed with the cleanliness of the rooms, we had a lovely cleaner who came in almost daily to change our towels and tidy, make beds and mop floors, i was surprised at this, but really appreciated it, she was friendly and always spoke to our 3 year old, which was nice.I would say however that there are no locks on the doors on the inside, so our 3 yr old found it enertaining to let himself out, this is a healh and safey issue, as we could not just let him play in the room while you were in the shower etc, as he could have gone anywhere!
The complex itself is nice, we did not really use it that much as we are a family that likes to get out and about, but there seemed to be plenty on, i would say though that you have to like bingo, and quizzes, and talent shows... not really our thing, but people seemed to like it!! The entertainment staff worked hard, and seemed to be on duty every day for the 14 days we were there, i did find them a little cheesy, and somewhat fake at times when they came to talk to you, everything was so fabulous lol!!! but like i said some people like that kind of thing.
The pool area is nice, it is a graduated pool so its good for the little ones, my one complaint however is that the smaller childrens pool has a surrounding wall that is made of ceramic tiles, they are smooth, and are not rounded on the top, so very sharp and slippy, kids would slip and injure themselves, and i myself slipped and have the bruises and discomfort to show for my run in with the wall... this needs to be changed immediately as it is an accident waiting to happen!!! i would be very cautious of letting your little one play in there.
I cannot comment on the food at the complex as we never ate there, there is a good little shop for all your bits and bobs, and there is a laundry which is handy. we tnded to eat out and i would recommend that you do the same. Napa has so many nice restaurants that you would be missing out if you dont try any of them. There is a lovely japanesse restaurant, Garys is fab for breakfasts, and the orange grove is great, they do lovely food and are friendly, also there is an american diner which does the best steaks. You must try a meze, whilst in cyprus, the orange grove did a lovely one, its a must whilst you are on island, finally, make sure you try a Cyprus special sandwich... absolutely lovely !!!
