What a fab 2 weeks. The hotel was great, so clean and tidy. Angela and her team cannot do enough to help you. The views from the pool bar and pool area as well as our room are ones to remember. We met people who had been before and we like them are going to return in 2008. ... more

Set back from the road just 800m from Skala and across the road from Golden sandy beaches lies a delightful Hotel called the Aeolos Beach Hotel. A family run hotel that is run by Angela the owner who greets each coach in person. When you first enter the Hotel, you are... more

The food never changed it was the same ever day, breakfast was sometimes left overs from the night before such as rice and pasta. Entertainment was changed once a week and most of the entertainers were un-enthusiastic. The drinks were ok, not much choice, for more you must... more

This was our first stay at the Aeolos beach hotel. Set up a rather steep incline, you looked out on nothing but mountains and the beach and Greek mainland beyond. The rooms were superb; we actually had a power shower and more than enough room for a very comfortable stay.... more

The pool at the Aeolos Beach was superb. Its elevated location was excellent. Quiet, just out of the village but only metres from a huge sandy beach. The standard of accommodation was very high and well cared for and the staff welcoming and hard working. The rooms are... more

Absolutely the best!!!
Just returned from two weeks at the Aeolos, our first trip there, and it has got to be the best studio/apartment accomodation we have ever stayed at Greece! The room was spacious with plenty of cupboard/drawer storage space, and the bathroom would have been more at home in a five star hotel - no shower tray, clingy curtain and hand held shower attachement, this was a proper cubicle with hot water available at all times!!!! The pool was just the right size with plenty of sunbeds to catch the sun, and what a view whilst you laze away the hours. Angela and her team will go out of there way to help you enjoy your holiday to the max - even scouring the village to provide new mint for the Mojito's!!!!!!!!!!! The hotel restaurant along the seafront, about a 10 minute stroll, served great food - and the discount provided for being a hotel guest was a really nice touch. Will definitely be returning it was that good!
An excellent small and friendly hotel
My wife and I spent a week at this hotel at the end of May / beginning of June. It is an excellent small hotel which offers bed and breakfast and self catering accommodation. We were warmly welcomed off the coach by Angela, the owner, and her staff - who promptly whisked our luggage away, delivering it to our room within minutes. The rooms are spacious, well equipped (we booked bed and breakfast, but still had a small kitchenette with fridge, sink, kettle) and immaculately clean. The staff couldn't do enough to help and were genuinely friendly and helpful. The pool was excellent and the small bar served drinks and very substantial snacks. The beach is a steep 100 metres away, and there is a small supermarket within 200 metres along the beach road. There is also a superb cake / pastry shop 100 metres in the other direction, which has only just opened. Aeolos also has a restaurant which is located along the beach road and a 10% discount is offered to Aeolos Beach residents. The food and service here were similarly excellent - it is run by Angela's father and husband. All in all, an excellent small hotel in a lovely location.
Lovely Friendly Hotel
Lovely, small hotel. Angela and staff were very welcoming. Rooms were a good size with good size fridge, lots of storage space and views of the sea. On the downside my husband would have liked a TV in the room if only to keep up to date with the news! The breakfast was a bit boring with not a lot of choice, but I suppose on a Greek scale it was OK. Overall we had a lovely time and would recommend the hotel to anyone looking for a quiet, chilling out holiday.
The Lovely Aeolos Beach
This is fantastic hotel, Angela & all her team make you feel so welcome, it is so friendly, the bar in the veneing has an excellent atmosphere and stays open until the last person goes. The staff at this hotel really do make your holiday. The rooms are very clean & angela inspects them regularly to ensure they are up to her high standards, the hotel is about 15 mins walk from the town, but this is no problem, the view from the pool area are stunning. As for kefalonia, it is so stunning we hired a car for a few days (i would only recommend you do this if you dont have a fear of heights and you are a really confident driver, it does feel like the locals are using you for target practice!) and visited sami a lovely harbour and fiscardo, very beautiful and of course Myrtos beach where the sea looks stunning, also the view as you drive through the mountains is gorgeous. You can book a trip like this for 39 euro each through thomsons, or there is a place in the high street charging around 26 euro each. As for prices, I was supprised how much things did cost, we took £1000.00 and then put a further £200 on the credit card as we run out of money, we were bed & breakfast & only had lunch twice, so only really paid for evening meal & drinks (having said that we do drink well on holiday!), you can get a meal with starter & a caraf of wine from 28 euro if you shop around, and up to 50 euro in some places, to be honest all the food we had was wonderful, you will pay around 3 euro for a beer & 4 euro for a spirit, & 2.5 euro for a glass of wine. Whilst kefalonia is a little bit more expensive than other parts of Greece it is truley beautiful.
friendly, clean and an ideal location
Located 15 minutes walk from the centre of the resort this hotel was far enough out to be very quiet but near enough for a lovely walk to and from the restaurants. The staff (especially George the barman) were all very friendly and the rooms were excellent, with very good showers, fridges and air con. all spotlessly clean with regular bedding changes this is a well run hotel. The pool was a little small but was never crowded. I would recommend this hotel to anybody wanting peace and quiet but wanting a little livelyness in the evening (in Skala).
Friendly Hotel in a Beautiful Location
A lovely hotel in a great location. Small and friendly, staff excellent. A week here wasn't enough, could have easily stayed for longer. Beautiful views of Skala and the beach and on a clear day (which we had many of) Zakynthos is clearly visible in the distance and well worth a visit. Room comfortable and of a decent size although our balcony was rather small. Lovely pool and there were always sunbeds available should you wish to sit and relax there. Bar food excellent and breakfast good, a range of tasty extras available at reasonable prices. One word of advice it is very dark when walking back from town at night (about 10-15 minutes to the centre and the last few minutes totally unlit) and the tip from another trip advisor member to take a torch was a good one. When our week was over we didn't want to leave!
great accomadation
Although the hotel is a good 20 minute walk from Skala i would recommend the place to anyone, it is a family run hotel and has one many awards. The hotel rooms are cleaned daily and have great showers. The hotel is fairly quiet with no road noise, it seems to have a nice clientele who many have been there more than once. The pool area is very clean with more than enough free sun beds and parasols and the resteraunt which caters for breakfast and snacks is very competetively priced. After all this the one draw back is the walk back and the very steep drive approach to the resort
Wonderful relaxing holiday
We had a great time at the Aeolos Hotel, lovely quiet location although only 15 minutes from Skala. Good idea to take torch for the last 200 metres of the walk back. The staff were very helpful and most spoke excellent English, guests were english as you can only book through Thomsons, I have attached their web site which gives you a good idea of the hotel [--] We stayed self catering which was quite basic 2 electric rings, fridge, kettle etc quite normal for Greece which was good enough for us as we only had breakfast in our room, B&B rooms had fridge and kettles, rooms are quite spacious and kept clean. Kefalonia is a beautiful island well worth hiring a car to see the wonderful coastal and inland scenery. The Rep will give you a basic road map of the island but if you wish to explore other beaches etc you would be better to buy a road map at home before you go.
Great Hotel
We stayed at the Aeolos Beach Hotel last week and it was GREAT! A lovely couple who run the hotel were welcoming. We were the first guests there of the season and all the staff were new and were excellent. Lots of smiles and very very helpful. A great setting - the hotel is on a hill at the end of Skala. Just a 10 minute walk to the restaurants and bars and over the road from the beach. It is a great resort too - quiet at this time of year but still lots to do. Lots of great trips to go on. Breakfast at the hotel was continental but for a small charge you could buy a cooked breakfast. There was a snack bar which served great food all day. No restaurant at the hotel but they do own one just a 5 minute walk away. No TV in the rooms (although doesn't matter) but there is a TV in the hotel lobby. The only thing to take in to account is that the road along the beach is well lit but the lights stop before the hotel as does the pavement so bring a torch. Also if you have mobility problems there is a steep walk to the hotel from the road and this needs taking in to account. Overall an excellent Hotel. Recommended!!! The Weather for early May was good. Quite hot on some days but not overpowering. Great for long walks down the secluded beach and small coves as well as the walk to old Skala. Some days were cloudy and some nights were very windy. Bring a coat!
superb
We stayed at the Aeolos Beach Hotel for 1 week. From the start we were very impressed with this 3 star hotel, which was meticulously clean throughout. The service was excellent, and friendly in keeping with a smaller establishment. The hotel is a short walk from the beach with a good choice of Tavernas. Scala is a quiet, pretty resort but has a friendly atmosphere. A few things to be aware of: We had to pay extra for a safety deposit box. There is no lifeguard and the pool is probably too deep for non swimmers. The rooms were in close proximity to each other and at times sound carried. Generally a lovely stay and would definitely recommend.
