I would agree with all of the comments about the accommodation. However no one seems to mention the very busy and noisey road that runs at the back of the hotel and is about 20 foot higher than the sun terrace. Far from restful and relaxing. I will not be going back for this reason alone.

Best Hotel Ever
Morasol Suites Puerto Rico 13th August Anne Barnsley We stayed at the Morasol from the 29th July for a fortnight .We had booked at the Marina Suites and were called four days before we left to say it was overbooked are we glad it was.The morasol is one of the cleanest and friendliest hotels we have stayed in.The staff couldn`t do enough for you whether it be the reception, bar or the cleaners. We managed to keep one of the rooms on as our flight wasn`t until 3.35 pm for a charge of 47 euro worth every cent. The pool was more than adequate for the size of the hotel although early one morning all the sunbeds were taken with towels not bodies the manager had them all lifted and taken to reception it worked, we could go for breakfast and still get a sunbed when we came back. The entertainment at the hotel is four nights a week we only caught one show Goodtime Charlie a very good singer.Snacks through the day at the hotel very good value we ate at the restaurant one evening it was tasty but didn`t get enough of it.A must is the Las Vegas restaurant in the main shopping the steaks are FAB.We will be back at the Morasol again as we have been to puerto rico three times and we love it.
Superb Accommodation
I have recently returned from a holiday in Gran Canaria staying at the Morasol Suites. This accommodation is superb. The suites are very large and modern with all of the equipment you could possibly need on holiday - including:- hob, fridge freezer, microwave the list goes on. All areas of the hotel are of the same high standard even the pool was cleaned daily during our stay. There is also a roof terrace on the 3rd floor with lots more sunbeds and a hot tub overlooking the marina. Even though we were staying during peak season the pool area and roof terrace were never over crowded. The only moan I would have about the pool area is that the hotel staff didn't like you leaving your towels on your sunbed even if you were popping up to your room for half hour for lunch. This did seem a little ridiculous but the main reason for this was because of the people that put their towels out first thing in the morning and then went out for the day. The hotel is in a fantastic location overlooking the marina and only a 5 minute walk from the beach, shops, restaurants etc and you don't have to walk up any steep hills so this hotel is suitable for everyone. We ate in the hotel restaurant once during our stay and the food was good but you can get a far better meal outside and a lot cheaper so I wouldn't recommend staying half board as food is very cheap in the resort. The drinks in the hotel are also double the price of drinks in bars outside. The hotel don't have a problem with you bringing your own drinks into the hotel from the supermarket. We stocked up on all of our drinks in the supermarket and kept them in our fridge and sat on the lovely balcony overlooking the marina. There is also a bar just accross the road to the right called The Wigwam where the service was friendly and good and the drinks were far cheaper. Our favourite restaurant was right up on the top of a hill opposite the Europa Shopping Centre. The restaurant was called Picasso's and we had one of the best meals I have ever tasted there. For three adults the cost of a three course meal including drinks was around £45.00 which is fantastic as the food was superb. We got a taxi from the hotel up the hill at a cost of 3 euro's. Another great restaurant is El Toro which is less than a 5 minute walk from the hotel just through the tunnels to the right of the hotel. Again a fantastic meal with very friendly staff and a small bill at the end of the night. For breakfast you must try Yogi's this is an english cafe just accross the road to the right of the hotel - this was the best breakfast I've ever had outside of the UK. If you fancy an Indian try Little India which is just around the other side of the beach above the little shopping centre - again we had a fantastic meal. The beach area is lovely and clean with plenty of loungers for everyone. The shopping centre was fairly good although there are plenty of larger shopping centre's in Playa Del Ingles which is only a bus ride away and costs only a couple of euro's. All in all a fantastic holiday I cannot recommend enough - we will definately be returning to this hotel.
Great apartment , very clean, quiet location
My wife and I spent the first two weeks of July at the Morasol and really enjoyed it. The room was very spacious with a modern design and was cleaned every day, the cleaning staff were very friendly. There is a large pool lower floor outside and up on the roof there is a quiet area with jacuzzi. The location was good all rooms overlooked the harbour in a quiet area but only a 15 minute walk away from bars and restaurants. The main commercial centre was a bit like 'chav city' and we only went there a couple of times, but, if you are into lively music, disco's, chicken & chips restaurants and a cheap shops then you will find plenty to do. If you enjoy nice food we would recommend two restaurants near the main harbour, Oscar's and Caballito de mar, both next door to each other. For trips out, we hired a car from reception Ford Focus £96 for four days, go to Mogan on a Friday for the market, experience the sand dunes at Maspalomas, drive to Roque Nublo and walk to the top to see Mount Teide in Tenerife, you will be above the clouds. Las Palmas (the capital) has a good mix of shops and some old sites if you enjoy a bit of exploring. In Puerto Rico be aware for time share reps, you will be asked to go to the caribbean beach 'Anfi' for a free day out. The only gripe we had about the apartment complex was that each evening the restaurant Manager stood outside the gate trying to get guests to eat at the apartment resaurant, we were told that the restaraunt and the bar are independant to the apartment complex ( Don't let this put you off though). We had a great two weeks and would recommend it.
Morasol 'Sweet'
Top class. Value for money, greast physilities, friendly staff...Not over crowded. Pool n jacuzzi were brialliant. Free private parking in a secure parking lot. Views and food were great. Need I go on.... When we return to Puerto Rico We will definetely be staying in the Morasol again. Couldn't reccomend it enough. Can't even compare it to any other Apts in the area. 10 out of 10
junior suites really nice
We returned yesterday ,this Aparthotel is very nice as long as you want a quiet holiday. it is about 5 mins from bars etc and almost every room has a balcony overlooking the marina pay the extre 330 or so for a junior suite they are very nice. The hotel is very modern and has what I can only describe as a minimalist look about it. the public areas are very spacious which does mean it lacks some atmosphere. The staff are very friendly although we felt at times there could have been more of them. Everything is very clean with regular fresh towels including beach towels. The pool is very clean and there are loads of sunbeds and more on the roof top solarium where there is also a hot tub. There is absolutely no need to put towels out, but again some numpties did ! We went self catering as did most people, the restaurant food was good but a little expensive with the service being a bit slow. and it has very little atmosphere about it. they hold the entertainment in here so if you don't want to see or be dragged in to the caberet eat early! There is the usual standard evening entertainment Elvis, Robbie lookalikes and flamenco. There is nothing here for kids but the pool. It was a shame there was no cafe/bar at the pool you had to go in to find someone for a drink or snack and that wasn't always easy during the day. The main thing that annoyed us was the restaraunt manager who stood outside the door of the hotel and pestered you to eat in the hotel and the pestered you when you again when you came back in. this actually put us and others off eating there! We would not go back to Gran Canaria it is bit like Blackpool with sun ! and the shopping centre is horrific with loads of english breakfasts and roast beef, I thought i was supposed to be in Spain?/ try Oscars for a good meal but it can be a bit pricey.
Absolutely Fabulous
We booked a last minute break with Direct Holidays and have just returned on sunday (16th - 23rd) and we were not dissapointed with the Morasol. Very comtemporary and ikea like in style, massive apartment with seperate bedroom, living area, kitchen and dining table. We were on the Ground Floor so the pool was a stones throw away. The pool was lovely and cold and the sunbeds were plentiful and the Morasol provided beach towels for them, so don't take them with you! We looked out on to the Marina which was beautiful and it was nice to be away from the hustle and bustle of Puerto Rico centre. The beach was 5 mins walk and the main shopping area 10 - 15 mins, which was ideal. Pool snacks, quite expensive but nice all the same. supermarkets and bars within few minutes walk. We tended to eat in the beach area, I would recommend El Greco and the Indian as well... Some entertainment which was OK - the typical robbie and elvis tributes but they proved amusing none the less All in all fantastic value for money and a lovely quiet setting
Excellent all round
I stayed at the Morasol at the start of June with two other mates and we had a ball. We were very taken with our apartment. It was cleaned every day and we got clean towels daily also. We were groundfloor and so our good-sized balcony was just a few steps up from the pool, which was gorgeous and a total saviour when we got too hot! The pool was cleaned everyday too. The staff were all very friendly there. We had a lovely view of the marina on the other side of the road and had 2 supermarkets very close by, as well as restaurants. I would advise people to steer clear of the Europa Centre if you don't like being hounded by folk trying to get you to eat in their restaurants. We had loads of fun when we went to the Commercial Centre and went to Harley's dancing bar, where men dance on tables, it's like Coyote Ugly eat your heart out! The weather was fab, just one cloudy day but still as hot as ever. Good time to go if you don't want it being too busy with kids running about. Great time all in all. P.S avoid 'Raoul' if he tries to tempt you with a boat trip where you will "see dolphins" coz you won't see any and it's a total rip off!
Stunning
10/10. Staff very friendly, great location, beautiful clean large apartment, great view over the harbour, lovely pool, definately recommend, no chavs allowed.
Absolutely Fantastic. 100%
My boyfriend and I stayed here from 10th May 2007 for two weeks through Thomson. The reception area is very moden, as the hotel is only a few years old, lots of marble and glass, with stylish lighting. All rooms face the pool/marina. We had a 1-bedroom apartment and you enter the apartment. The decor and furnishings are brand new and stylish with every kitchen appliance and utensil you could need. The balcony over looks the pool and marina. There are plenty of sunloungers, beach towels are provided free of charge by the hotel so no need to take your own. The pool is large and modern and quiet. There is also a sun-deck on the top floor with a hot tub - perfect for watching the world go by. The hotel is far enough away from the tacky resort and Commercial Centre but close enough for a 15 minute walk or a 3euro cab ride. The Commercial Centre restaurants all offer the same sort of food but I can HIGHLY recommend The Orient Express (Chinese with a lovely Irish lady outside welcoming you in), The Best Steak House (opposite the Orient Express) both in the Commercial Centre. Across from the hotel there's an Irish bar called Flanagan's Apple, they do lovely food. As does The Red Rose across from the Irish Bar. Along the beach near Puerto Base are some basic restaurants offering chicken and chips for 4 euroes. Do not think these restaurants are bad because they're quiet. My boyfriend had BBQ Ribs bigger than his own ARM three nights in a row with chips and I had a massive Tuna Steak with a drink each for 18 euros. Cheap and great. I recommend the market in Mogan every Friday, but a tip, get the 9 o'clock bus from Puerto Rico, It gets you there for about 9:40, a full hour before the large coach/bus trips arrive, before the massive influx of tourists arrive. The bus cots 2 euros each, each way, the boat costs 10 euros. Big difference. Amadores beach is excellent, but avoid on Sundays cos it's mega packed. The staff at the hotel were excellent. The breakfast has a large choice, the pool bar snacks are great, but we didn't eat there in the evening. Unfortunately, I slipped getting out of the hot tub one day and hurt my back quite badly. My boyfriend informed the staff about the slippy floor and the next day I had a bottle of wine and a letter from the hotel manager apologising and offering his help if I needed it. It's a four star hotel, but really feels like a 5 star. All the little extras made this trip fantastic. Recommended for families with children of all ages, young couples, older couples. We will definitely be returning.
great accommodation
my partner and i have just got back from staying at the morasol suites in puerto rico. Our studio was really nice. 2 large twin beds, and good facilities in the kitchen. ie kettle, perculator, toaster, 2 rings and cutlery. The shower was very good, and it was espacially nice to have a sitting area down a few steps away from the bedroom. The studio was very clean, and all the staff were very friendly and helpful. Would definately recommend it. puerto rico itself not very nice. lots of full english breakfasts, and chips with everything. not the sort of place we would normally go to. However the beach was very nice, and the amadores beach was within walking distance from the moraol suites. took us about 20 minutes.
