Great Hotel
10 / 10
Aug 2011, holiday123

We arrived at Kusadasi after travelling for around an hour from Izmir Airport. We were the last to be dropped off so it gave us a chance on the coach to see part of the city and other people's hotels and we wondered what Carina Studios would be like on arrival. (It turned out to be the best hotel we saw in Kusadasi)
The hotel overlooks a stunning view of the sea and some rooms also overlook the pool and bar area which is very pituresque. You are able to hear noise from the beach club, but it's only music in the distance and doesn't stop you from sleeping.
The rooms are clean and spacious, with a small balcony area. We were firstly put in a room that looked right out onto the sea, but on the second day of our holiday we had problems with the air conditioning not working properly. We were then moved into another room with an even better view of the pool and also the sea! They do charge £40 a week for the air conditioning, but as we weren't told this on arrival we ended up only paying the aircon for 1 out of 2 rooms (we were a party of 4), and other guests at the hotel had payed £2 a day for the air-conditioning.
The pool is lovely, heated and lots of room for swimming and also sunbathing. There were always sunbeds available and also fresh towels put out for guests. A few times we also recieved free drinks when we were around the pool.
We went Self-Catering so didn't taste much of the food, but what we did eat was lovely. The bar, and eating area is also very pretty especially at night with lit candles and sometimes live music.
The walk into Kusadasi is around 10 minutes down a hill, overlooking the sea. The city itself is very lively with lots to do, loads of shops, resteraunts and bars. Bar Street is the place to go if you are looking for a night out, but doesn't get busy till after 12, 1.
The opposite way takes you to ladies beach. We didn't discover this end of the city untill the last few days of our holiday but the food and atmosphere down there is much more relaxed and better quality.
The staff at Carina Studios were always really helpful and polite and I would definately recommend it to anyone, and will probably visit again myself. It's a peacefull, beautiful hotel which is only just out of the lively resort! Many other things to do in Kusadasi aswell such as the waterpark, boat trips etc!

Great Holiday
10 / 10
Aug 2010, Cromy

Just returned from a two week family holiday at the Carina Studios, and could'nt fault the hotel one bit it was very clean, maids came in every day and staff are very helpfull and very friendly. Cant say we had any sleepless nights with the disco that has been mentioned in a few reveiws. The veiws from the hotel are fantastic, over looking the sea, pool area is great with ample sun loungers and parasols, and with the Dolmus (bus) stopping right outside every 5mins it is only a few mins to Kusadasi centre or Ladies Beach. Great place to go, would'nt hesitate to go back again.

The Carina studios were fab, pleasant helpful friendly staff, hotel is very clean, maid service excellent. Food at hotel was lovely and reasonably priced, spent most of the time by the pool, plenty of loungers and pool very clean. We were prepared for the noise we had read about from the nightclub opposite but never really heard it so couldnt have been that loud!!!
would definetly recommend this hotel, convient location about 10 min walk to town and dolmus buses brillant. would defientley recommend the Kaylon restuarant in kusadasi it is brill much better than planet yucca and loads cheaper!!!!

Jul 2010, katyyyyy

Just returned yesterday relieved to get a good nights sleep, too noisy from nightclub opposite until 5 in the morning. Transfer from Bodrum was 2 and a half hours, can't go on beach opposite as they charge. Good points - very clean, cheap to get to local shops and beach (ladies beach) Staff were friendly, if you have a late flight make sure you pay for late check out before you go as the hotel charge £30 to stay til 6pm, you also have to pay £40 a week for air conditioning. We were self catering.

Us: Couple, early 40s
Transfer Time: 1.75 hours from Izmir including 4 other Hotel drop offs
Staff: Friendly and eager to help
Clinetell: Mainly British Families and Couples
Location: All rooms overlook the Bar, Pool and Sea. The Sea is about 50m away but no decent local beach as the area is mainly hilly and rocky
Hotel: Pool not huge but clean with loads of spare loungers. Exchange rate in Hotel better than in UK. Internet 5 Turkish Lira/Hour. Indoor and outdoor Bar, Terrace and Games room. Food and Drink nice but generally 20% dearer than in town except that is for the evening meals which are competitively priced. No problems with food water or salads. Monday is FOC welcome meal night with a belly dancer and games. BBQ and Turkish night is Wednesday at 25 TL each.
Rooms: Very basic but clean. Air con is £40 extra per room per week.
Ladies Beach: Is best local beach and is 20mins away on foot or catch the Dolmus which passes the hotel every few minutes and takes you there for 2TL each. They stop running at 11pm.
Kusadasi: Is 20mins away on foot and same applies to Dolmus as above. Planet Yucca is one of the dearest places to eat in town but there are two other decent restaurants 25 metres either side which are cheaper, we think better, have live entertainment and also operate a free delivery/collection service. Prices; Large Efes Beer 4TL with a meal costing between 11 and 30 TL each. On average the total bill for the two of us was 45TL for Garlic Bread, Two meals, Two Drinks and Fruit Salad.
Nightlife: The nightlife is a kilometre down the road in Kusadasi however The Hotel is only 200 metres away from a solitary nightclub called Jade. If you’re into Turkish/Acid/Dance Music that is so loud that it vibrates the hotel windows until 4am every single night then you’ll love this hotel. Sleeping prior to this is dam near impossible and to make matters worse all rooms face roughly the same direction. The Hotel and Residents have filed a petition however some how the club owner has obtained a License to play music until 4am. The adjacent busy main road can also be noisy during the night.
Our tour operator rated this hotel for families which would be true if the nightclub wasn't so near and played music so loud, so late.

Some great bits - some not so good
6 / 10

Good bits:
The view - absolutely fantastic.
Rooms - Basic but had everything we needed.
Cleanliness - Outstanding, this was the cleanest place we've ever been to.
Staff - Very friendly, efficient and attentive.
Bad bits:
The noise - The staff at the bar kept playing the same songs over and over again and it was dance/europop/techno drivel at its worst. To be fair they stopped doing this after complaints. However, when the Eurovision Song Contest was on the big screen was set up outside and we were subjected to this until the small hours. That was painful.
Don't underestimate the noise from the Jade nightclub across the road, we were there for the season opening and the word "noisy" doesn't cover it. It was like an earthquake, shaking the windows until 5am. It was a live band which made it worse.
The prices - This leaves a bad taste, when we arrived we were charges 16TL for two tins of Carlsberg lager from the shop, that's about £7-£8 and twice as much as a bottle of decent beer in local restauraunts! The bar was boycotted by most guests due to the prices.
Would we go there again? - No - The noise problem was worse than the good bits, we felt, others may feel differently.

I have just got back from the Carina Studios, I have been going to Kusadasi for the last 10years and think it is an amazing place.
They have something there for everyone young or old.
The carina is possibly one of the best I have stayed in the staff are amazing Jimmy, Danny and Ronaldo...and not to forget the Magnificent First Choice Rep JJ what a lovely person she is.
The carina is in the perfect location with the centre and the main harbour only a 10 minute walk from the hotel and about the same for Ladies Beach.
I would recommend this hotel to anyone.
If you are going ignore bad reviews they are just being rather picky and I did not see or hear this night club that several people have mentioned!!!!
Not much entertainment at the hotel if Iam honest but what do yopu want when the main town centre is a 10min walk away???
If your going here, you will have an amazing time.

The Carina Apartments were really...

The Carina Apartments were really lovely. Although the rooms were quite basic, they are clean and tidy and the view from all rooms are gorgeous. Kusadasi is a lovely place to go to as it's right near a harbour, and the hotel is perfectly situated between the centre of the town and Ladies Beach. There are loads of great restaurants in both locations, but the hotel food is also very good. The Welcome Meals were a real highlight. These took place on Mondays and dinner was supplied free of charge and there were loads of games with the fun and friendly hotel staff.
The pool was lovely too. If you like to swim, it's big enough for that, but also great for just having fun splashing about.
There's a nightclub nearby which is noisy at the weekend, but wasn't too bad. Other than that, really pleasant. I'd go back!
