Disneys Wilderness Lodge Hotel reviews

Jul 2007, Mr A Bailey

Superb place stay, you get Disney deluxe lodgings at the high end of the moderate price scale. Lots of people comment / complain about the transport to MK and other parks but we thought it was great. We were travelling with a three year old so hence all the daily baggage... more

Magical stay at the Wilderness Lodge
We just got back from our trip to Disney World July 29, 2003. We had a wonderful stay at the Wilderness Lodge!! We were very impressed with the entire lodge during our stay. Everyone on the staff was very polite and I felt everyone went out of the way to make our stay one to remember. We had 2 adults and 2 kids in our room for a week and we never felt it was too small. The lobby and pool areas are beautiful, the food was better than average, and we were so impressed by the cleanliness of the entire lodge and grounds. Even with all the people... more
Disney at its best!
Just returned from a 5 day stay with my wife and 12 year old daughter. This place is great! Typical Disney first class service with a very different theme.A vacation in itself is just a stay at this resort. Preferred it to all the other Disney resorts we've stayed. These include the Yacht club (didn't like the transportation setup and lack of a decent snack shop)..the Grand Floridian ( beyond stuffy) and the Polynesian ( nice but not worth the cost) .Don't get me wrong, these are all first class hotels. If the monorail were connected to the... more
Brilliant Vacation
My family and I went last June to the Resort and loved it. There was plenty of stuff to do for all ages, there's bars and restraunts for adults and pools and an arcade for the kids. You can also rent boats and bikes from the hotel. Transport to all the Disney theme parks is free and it is very easy to use. The rooms are spacious and have a balcony which look out onto either the pool area or pine trees and the side of the hotel. The lobby in the hotel is big and really beautiful. I would say that the Wilderness Lodge Resort is a great... more
it was ok
The Wilderness Lodge was beautiful, but we were on the outskirts of the hotel, on the 8th floor. We were near the outside stairs, but after a full day, who wants to climb 8 flights of stairs? Also it seemed the wait for the boat to the Magic Kingdom took forever. The smell inside the Wilderness Lodge, was too much. Maybe because I was pregnant, but the smell of the smoke from the fireplace, and the smoky food from the restaurant, really sent me running to the bathroom more than once. The pool was beautiful, and the interior was beautiful.... more
An overall great experience
I just got back from a 4th of July celebration in Disney. AMAZING!! I highly suggest it. We stayed at the Wilderness Lodge and were very impressed with every aspect of the hotel. The lobby is breathtaking! Truly something you must see in person to understand. The rest of the hotel was equally impressive. We ate mostly at the small cafe near the pool, which offered a great selection and very good food. Overall my experience at the Wilderness Lodge was great. The bell service was top notch and the staff went out of their way to make sure... more
The Pampering, Beautiful Resort that's Amazing!
Wow, there is so much to say about this hotel, but it's almost impossible to put in words how great it really was. I went with my Mother and my best friend last year in June! Not a good chpice I know considering June is the busiest time of the year. However, we still has a truly amazing time. When your driving towards the hotel, the wilderness lodge starts appearing from behind the big, beautiful trees. The hotel seemed never ending! It was massive, but so beautiful! Valet was nice, but can get pricy if you go out a lot, so if you... more
Pacific Northwest at it's best...
We stayed here on our first trip to Disney. It is an awesome experience seeing this hotel for the first time. The lobby is amazing. The rooms are nice, though a little small. The staff is great, and it is a great choice for a Walt Disney World vacation.
perfect for your first Magic kingdom experienc
The Wilderness Lodge litterally "has it all". Location, Location, Location..Even though the Magic Kingdom is only a ferry boat ride away, it still has a serene atmosphere. (unlike the Contemporary, which is more like staying in a mall for your vacation.) There are quiet alcoves with fireplaces. babbling brooks, and comfy chairs in a lodge style setting. Our kids loved the"Wispering Canyon Cafe" where they participated in a "hobby horse" race. The character breakfast was wonderful and unrushed. We never made formal reservations and... more
Great place to stay!!
We love the Wilderness Lodge! We have stayed here twice and plan to go back. We love the Wilderness theming, and the easy access to Magic kingdom by boat. My husband loves the Whispering Canyon restaurant, however it is not really my favorite. Lots of smoked meats, which I am not fond of...but it is a very fun type of meal! Artist Point is a very nice restaurant and $$. Our kids, aged 3 and 5 love the Water slide, and the geyser. The location for us is a plus, plus, plus, since we spend alot of time at magic Kingdom with the kids.Would... more
Wilderness Lodge; Feel like you are in a Disney movie
My family and I have stayed at the Wilderness Lodge three times, soon to be our fourth. Everytime I drive up to the guard house and the cast member says, "Welcome home Mr. XXXXX," I have to admit for a 32 year old, I get choked up, with a tear in my eye. Then you drive up to the main door where they take your bags and park your car for you. You then walk into the main area of the Lodge and again, the choking of the throat and the tearing of the eyes all over again. The stay at the lodge is outstanding. There is nothing but praise from me for... more
