Hotel fab, region poor!!!!!
We have just returned from holiday in Dreams Vacation and I have to say we were a little disappointed with the food and drink on offer, plus entertainment or rather lack of! There is 1 main buffet restaurant (Andalusia), and a further 4 restaurants where you have to reserve for meals. There is also a Mexican which I have to say was excellent. After all we did have to pay £9 per head. Mohammed was a pleasure and a good laugh! The staff are friendly, the waiters often bringing drinks before you have to ask. Look out for Malek, lovely bloke who cant do enough to help, but some are bordering on over familiarity, especially when you are trying to relax and sunbathe, or trying to eat! The rooms are just ok, not exceptional, but clean, and towels and sheets changed daily. We tipped the room cleaner at beginning of week and he made sure the mini fridge was topped up with water and coke and sprite. The air conditioning is a godsend especially in the middle of August. We left a card in the holder, so the room was cold all day, probably not supposed to do this, but hey! You can use all the facilities at sister hotel. Dreams Beach if you fancy a change, and this is where the pergola, my place, love boat and grill house are based. There is a little vehicle called the Taff Taff (or Putt Putt as I called it) which will ferry you between the two hotels, but it’s not a very long walk if you can’t get on it! We had a couple of trips to Naama Bay (£7 return taxi) and found it gruelling saying no constantly to the various shopkeepers who are demanding you enter their shops and buy stuff! But I suppose you get used to it, but it spoils a good look out! That place is amazing at night when it is all lit up, a must see! A must trip is quad biking in the desert, this was fabulous! We organised this with a company who had a stand in the shopping mall in Naama Bay. Fully insured and at £13pp, far cheaper than the organised trips with tour reps, they come and pick you up at hotel, and register with hotel to say they are taking you away for a few hours. Very well organise and a must do, we had tea in the desert in Bedouin tent; bloody awful stuff but my other half loved it!!!! As most people will find who visit this region, we had a few tummy upsets and had to buy extra diarrhoea tablets at pharmacy. £13 quid, so be prepared to take extra with you! They advised us to drink plenty water to avoid dehydration which gives you the stomach cramp, but we adhered to this so a bit unsure how we got "Pharoahs Revenge" Overall, it was ok, not horrendous, but we will be heading somewhere a bit more lively for next years holiday.
Fab Holiday
We have just returned from our holiday in Sharm. Dreams Vacation Resort was fabulous. The staff our very friendly and helpful. The resort is big there are 9 pools to choose from. Our room was spotless on arrival and kept that way during our stay, the staff cannot do enough for you and nothing is too much trouble ( a litlte tip though £2 does go a long way). Best bar is Mexican at poolside. Best places to eat Mexican ( a great meal for only £9) and My Place over at Dreans sister hotel food there is fab. If you do go seek out Mohamed Aly at the poolside bar a very friendly guy. We had an excellent holiday and would definetly return. Our little bit of advise would be to haggle prices in shops as shopkeepers will let you pay top dollar if you dont ( dont be embarassed to do this as everyone does you will soon get the hang of it)
best hotel ever!!!
my boyfriend and i have just returned from a 2 week holiday in the dreams vacation hotel!iv got to say its one of the best hotels iv ever been to! I could not say 1 bad thing about this hotel, the cleanliness is deff 5 star, the food is great and there is so much choice i dont no how people can say it gets boring...theres about 7 restaurants!! Our fave was the loveboat, you have to pay about £15 each but u get a 4 coarse meal and all your drinks for that and its lovely! All the staff cannot do enough for you, every morning we came down with our towles about 9.30 and the pool attendents would get us 2 sunbeds in the same spot!the only day we had trouble finding a sunbed was when we had a late night and didnt get out of bed until 1pm!haha! The cleaners were brill too, we got to no them and give them a little tip every few days and our fridge was restocked everyday with water, coke and sprite!! Deff get a snorkal and go down off the jetty on the beach, the fish you see are amazing!! As for the bad stomaches, me and my boyfriend both had it but we didnt put it down to the food because if you went to the welcome meeting the rep tells you that if you dont drink about 4 litres of water a day then you will dehydrate because its that hot! we didnt listen and we both had it, but we went and got some tablets and started drinking loads of water and it went!!! The animation team are great, we always stayed round our pool in the day as its loads more chilled out and quieter than the dreams beach, but on the night we always went to the dreams beach as the shows they put on were really funny!! How people can say this is a 3* hotel i dont no......listen to this review because were booking up to go again next year!!!
our dream place
My partner and myself have been to this resort twice now and found the experience brilliant on both occasions. The hotel staff and facilities were very good,[animation team a bit lack lustre]. The food was as good as you'll get anywhere, although a bit repetative, waiting and bar staff were always cheerful and ready to serve. As with any holiday the extra staff such as the massage team and the excursion reps can sometimes appear to be a little pushy at times, but then thats their job.A polite no thanks is sufficient. We are planning to go back for the third time and can't wait. We can't recommend it highly enough - try it for yourself, you will not be disappointed
what a holiday
just spent a week all inclusive at this hotel, the hotel itself is lovely but quite far from the busy centre of sharm el sheikh. The hotel staff are brillant and i cannot fault them one bit, a bit dissapointing about not having a proper beach but that doesn't matter when you are actually in the sea and can see coral and all the fishes up close. The hotels food was a bit repetative but food is very cheap in sharm itself so that wasn't a major problem. above all a very nice hotel and a lovely relaxing break from british spring weather.
Dreams worked a charm in Sharm
We were three single girls staying at Dreams Vacation and shared one room. Whilst a little more space would have been good, we had no real problems. We had a great time and everyone was really friendly . You just had to take it all with a pinch of salt - we lost count of the amount of cheesy lines we heard from waiters, shop keepers etc in the hotel. But they know they are being cheesy and it was all in good fun. We had more trouble with a letchy German guy in the disco than with the locals! Unless you get up early it is difficult to bag a sunbed - but then that's the same anywhere you go. We went to the Dreams Beach end a few times, the jetty area is really nice - and yes there is no actual "beach" but it was fine. I've never snorkelled before, and really enjoyed it. We went with Thompson and did two excursions- Cairo By Air and the Red Sea Cruise. Both were fantastic. Cairo was predictably tiring, but well worth it. The guide, Islam, did a great job. But be warned - we didn't get lunch till 2.30pm and it's a long morning! Food in the hotel can be a little samey, but there is something for everyone. The Mexican was great - had to pay 750 LE ( £7.50) for it though. The menu is different each night at the Mexican ,so check it has something you like before you book. Mohammed usually comes round at the tables at breakfast time trying to get people to book. Drinks- watch out with the spirits and the cocktails - the measures get bigger and bigger. Something I failed to take into account one evening and paid the price for it the next day! The Bedouin tent at the Dreams Beach end has a realy nice atmosphere for a few drinks and for trying the Shisha pipe ( only £1 to try) Entertainment : No doubt about it - cheese city! The Animation team do their best, but with so many nationalities to cater for it's bound to be difficult. We stayed away from the main Animation shows. There is a singer who sings the same songs every night, but it's fine. If you show the smallest sign of wanting to join in he'll have you up and singing! In all - everyone is only to happy to help, and we all had a great time.
Great Holiday!
I travelled to this hotel with my fiance and for the little money we paid, we were not sure what we would get! The new reception had just opened when we arrived and it was beautiful! The staff were so friendly and there were lots of different places to eat (This is because you can use the sister hotel FOC). The pool at the Dreams Vacation is quieter and nicer that the Dreams Beach. There is a little shuttle bus (Well, sort of!!) which takes you to and from the sister hotel - although it is just a short walk. The staff come around at about 3pm and give you a cold cloth to cool you off, which was a really nice touch. I would definately return to this hotel.
NOT 4* just about a 3*
Lovely weather in Feb. Been many times to Egypt all hotels have been great but this one wasn't If you're looking for a 4* or more, nice relaxing, clean hotel, don't go here. If you're used to Butlins, this is home from home with the rooms! Also, dreams beach, don't bother paying more to go there, they are the same hotel, you can use both facilities. When I went it was about £100 each more to get into Dreams beach. Luckily they had been booked out, so we SAVED £200 also, when they say they are booked, they aren't, we went and the place was quite empty really It was dirty, needed a good clean, even when we moved rooms, that one was dirty. We moved because we were itching after a day or so, red rashes everything. then once out the room, after an hour or so, okay. Then started again when we went back, after sleeping, so the beds were infested with something Entertainment you expect to be noisy but then it stops around 11-11.30pm. Then you get the staff going home at around 2am, they shout and talk loud, waking people up. Yet the tourists, can't hear them! Then around 5-7am (different daily) you get woken by a noise sounding like a loud garden strimmer. It's a man walking around with a thing on his back, spraying something then 7am, (as at night 6pm) a van drives round, it's slow and REALLY LOUD, spraying stuff in the air to kill mosqitos Does't matter, you can sleep by the pool....NOT. you'll be asleep then woken by staff, who think it's funny to pick up your sunbed and shake it, or wake you to get you to buy a trip or have a massage The pools are FREEEEEEZING cold Only one small kids one is heated,. it's in the Dreams beach resort and full of Egyptians so you can't get in that part, considering the hotels were quite empty it was annoying Food, isn't too bad, had better but got by. Some hotels do chips for the kids, this one didn't when I was there Beach WHAT BEACH? You have steps down towards it, with landings, so you go down about 5 steps to each landing, on each landing is about 4 sunbeds. then at the bottom, lots of beds around the cliffs....but you can't get in the water, you're on a cliff there is a small bit to snorkle in Resort, looks lovely, the reception, dinning areas are luxury. Its the rooms they are basic not clean. Also, you get a lot of Egyptians on the site, using the facilities,. They have a nightclub in Dreams beach, next door, so they use that too and hang around outside.
Fabulous Dreams vacation
Just got back from Dreams Vacation. Excellent time .This hotel is better than sister hotel Dreams Beach. The food was fantastic ,the rooms and whole resort spotless. Very chilly at night in March though and pool freezing but day temperatures were above 80. Didn`t want to come home. If you do excursions you must do Quad biking in desert bloody brill. Going to go back again and do Cairo trip as they are covering up the spinx in 2010 and it will never be seen again as it is crumbling badly and they can`t restore it anymore. Airport has changed alot since i was there 5 years ago. much cleaner. still alittle chaotic. If you go with thomson although fab they tend to book 5 flights going out in one day with only 10 minutes between them so you can imagine the build up. Just to add though we were ripped of by the locall perfume shop in sister hotel. 3 bottles of perfume cost us £140.00. Avoid. Lots of steps down to beach and no sand.
Not quite a dream !
Just returned from 2 week honeymoon at Dreams Vacation. We have spent a few weeks in other resorts around Sharm and must admit we were more than a little disappointed. We never try to expect to much and of course its only our opinion but here goes. The two main problems were the most important to our holiday, food and service. The food was dull, if you plan to do more than a week your going to struggle. The staff were over familiar to the point it became rude, constantly pushing extras, such as massage/tattoo ect.Being constantly interrupted at meals and when relaxing by the pool was driving us mad. Some of the junior staff were letchy to my wife they need to work out the difference between welcome and unwelcome attention.! The reception staff were not interested in dealing with basic requests,eg directions, advise on facilities or giving change from larger bank notes. Sorry If your planning your Holiday here remember its just our view!
