Totally loved it. We wanted a relaxing week away in a lovely environment and that's exactly what we got.
Staff extremely helpful - especially to the ladies but it’s not over the top, and it’s nothing you can't handle. They're not rude or pushy, just a bit extra smiley for the girls!
The food was very good and with lots of choice - Egyptian and Seafood nights in the restaurant were spot on.
Hotel is spotlessly clean. If there weren’t so many other places to go to on holiday we'd definitely go back.

Went for 2 weeks, 5 mins from airport. Plenty to do from water polo to archery to belly dancing, or not, the choice is yours.
Animation staff especially Omar and Zeco brill. Pool brilliant and very warm, hotel very clean. Food good.
My daughter had her birthday while we were there and they make you feel special.
Beer fine, vodka is more like petrol. Evening entertainment a lot better than had expected but don’t expect Blackpool or Sharm. More Lamaya version ha ha.
Trips excellent. We did 2 day Luxor for the historical bit and had an excellent guide, couldn't fault her in any way.
We went on camels and there is nothing like riding a camel in the dark with the locals singing along.
Went snorkelling in another bay and saw turtles and loads of fish by the coral, excellent little trip.
Downside beach by hotel not the best, you have to go off a jetty to snorkel and when we went loads jellyfish. And outside hotel have to tip for everything.
Excellent value for money.

We were both impressed with the Lamaya Resort from the moment we were welcomed to the moment we left the resort.
Myself and my husband have visited Egypt several times and can honestly say this is the best hotel we have experienced.
We both worked in the hotel and customer service industry for many years and were equally impressed with the level of service received and the standard of the hotel.
We decided to attend the 'Welcome' the following morning and were surprised when the Management Team arrived to introduce themselves to us all.
During our stay the staff were genuinely helpful and friendly, there was a great choice of food each day in the restaurant (they had themed evening dinners), our room was cleaned daily to a high standard and the main hotel and pools were spotless.
Our room was lovely with a very large bed a big walk-in shower.
There are trips that you can book. The snorkeling is good with lots to see. The animation team kept their poolside 'tunes' to a non-intrusive level which was great.
It proved to be a very relaxing holiday and we will definitely go back.
Our only reservation was the Gym - it only had one bike and one treadmill and was more popular than any Gym we have used on our holidays - this was rather frustrating for 2 people that workout everyday, however we also swim regularly and the non-heated pool was perfect for 'lengths'.
All in all a great place to stay and we will definitely go back.

Excellent resort for a relaxing break. Don’t use if you want active night life. Travel from the airport to the resort is only 10 mins, but the air traffic isn’t noticeable at the resort. The site itself is excellent, being 4 hotel complexes around a coral bay, totally self contained, with good site security. The down side is that it is miles from anywhere. If you expect to be able to wander down a street and be in the town centre forget it.
The rooms are excellent. We upgraded to a family room and got a double room with two singles separated by a wall and doors, not a curtain, a great idea. Lovely size with plenty of cupboard space and places to dump bags, snorkel gear etc. The safe was free as well.
Staff as has been said were excellent, nothing was to much trouble. Please remember that the staff are usually on only £30.00 per month ( yes per month) and tipping is a way of life, but only tip where you think its appropriate, don’t be bullied.
A tip of 1Egyptian pound (10 pence) is OK for the towel boy who moves your sun loungers and all the families junk to the spot in the sun, we tipped our room boy £10.00 sterling, at the end of 2 weeks and he was over the moon, he earned it. The bars have tipping boxes, the contents of which are shared out equally.
Money- There were plans for a small bureau de change for the site, but we had difficulty changing travellers cheques. Take Egyption pounds, Euro's (lots of 1euro coins for tipping) and American dollars. Most shops will also take sterling. If you have the space take your own snorkelling gear, as it cost us nearly £100 to buy all our stuff at the site.
If you can take the desert island cruise, the photos you will take will make people think you've been to Barbados. The cost and time scale of a trip to the pyramids was too much. The kids club was O.K. but didn’t really cater for English speakers. But the Egyptian staff loved the kids and would do anything for them.
The food was excellent, don’t forget no pork products at all and that Egyptians have very sweet teeth, meaning the puds were overloaded with calories. Lots of fruit to help you be virtuous. Overall an excellent, relaxing holiday, and I will go back in a year or two.

The Lamaya was only 9 months old when we stayed here in April. Lovely hotel which was spotlessly clean, excellent staff - they couldn't do enough for you and the grounds were wonderful.
We went mainly for the diving and were not disappointed. Diving on the house reef was very easy and accessible from a jetty straight off the beach. The coral and fish were fabulous. If you have a valid medical certificate, take it with you otherwise you will have to have a medical with the hotel doctor which will cost you 25 euros. The Dive Centre on site was particularly good and all staff were efficient and helpful.
Rooms were clean, a decent size and maintained to a high standard. Not a lot to do in the evenings although the Animation team put on a show if you wanted a bit of light entertainment. There are plenty of places to sit and play cards, talk or just watch the world go by. Not the resort to go to if you are a bit of a party animal!
The Hotel was very International with guests from Russia, Germany, Holland, Switzerland, Italy and Britain.
The food was buffet style and was as we expected from an Egyptian Hotel. Predictable, I think sums it up! Chicken, beef and rice. We always found something to eat though and the staff in the restaurant are very efficient and helpful.
The weather was perfect and if you were looking for a relaxing stay in the Egyptian sun with the opportunity to dive or snorkel then this is the place you should come. We enjoyed our stay so much we are hoping to go back for a week in October.

Have just returned from my holiday. Overall everything was good but there are a few downsides.
The staff at this hotel are superb and will try to fulfil any requests you may have.
The hotel does not have a diet drinks neither does the very small shop, the Hotel Manager said he would get some for us a tray of 24cans cost 70 American Dollars!
Food the food overall was good but oddly on our last day the restaurant was changed around and I must say there was not such a good choice.
Diving. The dive centre at resort is expensive and they insist on a medical certificate, my husband had been diving in November but they insisted on full check dive (not needed) at a cost of 25euros, also all equipment has to be hired separate increasing the cost, he eventually went via Thomson’s, and did two dives at a cost of 108 American Dollars although excellent dive, he went off shore expensive compared to Sharm Hurghada and Taba.
Snorkelling and swimming. There is a jetty at the lamaya side of the bay for entrance to the sea, for those of you like me who are not very confident (its very deep) you have to walk around to the sister hotel Coraya where it is easy to enter sea and the fish are stunning. We were told you could use any of the sister hotels but the beach boy at the Coraya told us to hide our towels because they are a different colour to the ones supplied by Coraya, I suggest you take a couple of your own and leave Hotel towels in your room.

We went to the Lamaya in April for a one week all inclusive holiday and it was fantastic.
The hotel is superb, food is excellent, and whilst everyone says you get a dodgy tummy in Egypt we were fine.
If anything it’s down to people pigging out too much and getting too much sun. My boyfriend proposed to me at the Lamaya and I can honestly say it was one of our best holidays ever! If you've booked a holiday there you won't be disappointed.
P.S the quad bikes are amazing and so is the horse riding!
