Just got back from staying here. The rooms are very small and not so clean (the bedding and towels all had brown stains on them), but as aleady mentioned you get what you pay for and it was pretty cheap! The mirror fell off the wall on the first night and we asked about 5 times to have it replaced and the glass cleared up and it never was. The balcony is tiny, barely enough room for 2 chairs.
The food was nice. The breakfast was fine despite being the same everyday, lovely tomatoes and cheese and olives :)
The Turkish night was really good fun and good value for money (10 pounds a head and really lovely food and brilliant dancing)...but be careful about the drinks, the waiters kept encouraging us to have more and pay the next day, we got charged way way way more than we should have been - they claimed we'd had double the amout of drinks that we actually had and there was no way we could prove this. So pay on the night or drink by drink!!
Also beware of changing money in the hotel - the owner very blatantly and rudely tried to rip us off, fortunately we already had a rough idea of the exchange rate.
The waiters were all really friendly and helpful and the reception staff were mostly fine which created a nice homely atmosphere. Also felt very safe and no problems with security.
Don't recomment Goldtrail as a tour operator, they ripped us off on trips, failed to supply us with correct information regarding pick up times etc.

Overall, i think that the pamukkale hotel was one of the worst experience that i have had,as soon as we arrived at the hotel, all happy and excited but tired, the electricity turned off which meant our tiny room had no AC.
Not just that, the food was disgusting, breakfast consisted of only one option every single day - bread bread and more bread. The workers however are extremely kind but the owner of the hotel, Zeenat, is quite arrogant and not at all helpful .She was quite welcoming the first few hours but by the end of the day, she showed her true colours. She refused to let my teenagers play snooker ans shouted when water was splashed out of the pool, this ruined my children's holiday and has basically, put me off returning back to Turkey.
Thanks a lot hotel pamukkale!

Great location but VERY basic.
The breakfast consists of melon , bread, cucumber, hard boiled egg and rancid tea.
The staff are mostly miserable.
The rooms are a joke in all honesty but you get what you pay for, take some ear plugs as the windows ect are,nt attached correctly so they might as well be wide open as far as noise reduction is concerned.
Altinkum is a nice place and quite cheap, a local pint is around £1.
Beach loungers are 4 YTL.
If you LOVE break dancing you,ll like dolphin square at night, if you dont- tough because its everywhere everynight!
I enjoyed the holiday and it was cheap but the lack of anything to do at night(shows ect) let it down, also the really pushy bar staff trying to get you in their bars grated on me all the time.(they even do this during the day!)
Let me also note: STAY AWAY FROM THE GALAXY BAR. it truely is the pits, and you,ll get ripped off.

This hotel was good value and would definately stay there again. It was basic but clean and had everything you need for a weeks holiday. Not sure what people expect when
they choose a 2-3 star hotel as you pay for what you get.
The staff were friendly and couldnt do enough for us, when we left they all came out and waved us goodbye. How many hotel managers do that?
We ate there a few times and the food was always good, imported drinks could be a little pricey so stuck to local alcohol.
All in all a good experience.

These people giving this great hotel a low score have probably paid £200 for a weeks holiday.
This hotel though admittedly basic is a really friendly Turkish hotel. Clean - yes the bedding and towels are not changed daily but what do you expect for what you paid? The pool is small but the beach is on your doorstep. Get out and about.
The staff are REALLY polite and friendly. The location is superb - only 400m to Dolphin Square and a further 200m to the seafront.
The breakfast is basic but try the restaurant in the evening for the best food in the whole of Altinkum. We ate there 5 times in our 2 weeks and can vouch for that.
This is a gem of a hotel and I for sure will return in the near future.
Come on Goldtrail - this great hotel should be in your main brochure where it deserves to be.

I think that this hotel is very basic and a bit boring.
I can recommend the Merymana just across the road as it has a big pool. Unlike the Pamukkale where it is a paddling pool.
The shower was broken and the door was faulty. The waiters only like nice looking girls otherwise they just ignore you. The building is falling apart and it would be nice if they put some effort into it.
The breakfast was Turkish so I didn’t eat breakfast for a week. The bedding was changed once and is only changed once a week. That makes me wonder if when I got there the beds were clean.
The waiters try to enjoy themselves but are always chatting up girls.
Generally it’s an okay hotel, but I wouldn’t recommend it. Rating-3.

This was our first time to Altinkum, but our 16th time in Turkey. We generally stay in 2 or 3* accommodation and this has to be the worst Hotel we have ever stayed in.
Previous reviews said the staff were friendly, well if you were two females then yes, but we had to ask for our coffee every morning, where others were asked by the staff immediately they arrived for breakfast. On arrival at the Hotel the bin in our bathroom had not been emptied, there were no clean towels and the room had not been cleaned. After complaining we were offered another room but decided to remain in the room provided it was cleaned, this was done immediately.
So no problem, only 2 days later the bin hadn't been emptied again, this occurred 4 times in total. After 6 days we had to go to reception and ask how often the towels and bedding was changed. We were advised that towels every 3 days - we had had ours 6! The bedding is only changed once a week! The doors on the rooms don't shut very well and every time we shut our door another piece of the wall by the door frame fell out, it was like Fawlty Towers!
The Pool was very small and in the shade all day long, although you can use the pool at the Merymana across the road which was really good. The location of the hotel was very handy, short walk to main beach, 2nd and 3rd beach. The beaches are not very clean as the bins are not in close proximity to the sunbeds, so people put there cigarettes out in the sand. It's the first time I have ever paid for a sunbed, with the rate being 2.5 lira to a pound, 2 sunbeds and an umbrella was 10 lira.
We had some really nice meals, a short dolmus ride away are some really nice restaurants, and they will generally come and pick you up if you ring them. We can recommend Alo 24, Sofra and Sabilha all within a minutes walk of each other. Another restaurant we tried quite often was Oyans, just down towards Dolphin Square in the same road as the Hotel, the staff here were very friendly, the owners made an effort to come and talk to you.
Generally we felt that there are far too many places selling property and they are still building. There isn't much to see in Altinkum and shopping is a bit sparse, so when you want a change from laying in the sun, you've been on a boat trip and done trips to Ephesus and Pamukkale there's not a lot else to do.

Not long back from Altinkum. This Hotel is very, very basic. We were there for a week and you do get your beds made up on a daily basis, but you do not get your room hoovered or the toilet cleaned again till your departure. The bathroom/shower was quite dirty; when we arrived there was hairs in the sink and in the shower plug hole – DISGUSTING ! When the room gets hot with the heat you can smell urine from the shower.
The hotel in general could be very nice if they put some money back into it for its upkeep, the location of the hotel was good, the staff were very pleasant and helpful, the food at the hotel was nice.
I know you pay for what you get, but at least where you’re going should be clean, that's what I think anyway!

Well overall I think the hotel was average.
The rooms are very basic. The location of this hotel is the best thing; it takes you 5 minutes to walk to Dolphin Square, and gives easy access to Altinkum's 3rd beach.
The Pool is far too small but if you notice, most pools in Altinkum are.
The staff are friendly and polite. I strongly suggest if staying in the Pumakkale in the height of summer, to invest in the air conditioning, the do charge for this though. But it’s a most have in summer, as the rooms are boiling.
I think the Pumakkale is situated in a good location, with easy access to everything and overall not a bad hotel! But as I say very basic!

We checked into room 102 at 8am on 1-8-06 on seeing the room it was basic but very clean with a TV and air con so we were happy, the breakfast was Turkish which was ok but would be better with more choice.
The staff were all very nice and we had a good laugh, we had an evening meal a couple of times and the food was good, the pool was a bit small but with only 10mins to the beach, not a problem.
All in all we had a really nice week and will definitely go back on the last night the boss bought us a drink and they all waved us off at 3am thanks for a really nice holiday.
