Though I'd write a review to put a few people at ease!- I booked to go to the Costa Sur 10 weeks ago with two of my friends and returned today. After the reviews which we read we were really really worried but as we had already paid we couldn't change. when arriving in Ibiza and driving up to the hotel I wasn't sure what to expect, once outside it looked fine, clean and welcoming. We waited around 15 minutes to get to our room, once in there I could see it was standard but clean, great air con and balcony over looking the pool. The next day we were really worried about leaving our things in the room as the previous reviews we'd read about being robbed, so we took all our money out with us, cameras phones ect. But left our passports hidden in the room just in case, we also told the cleaners that we would clean our own room. The food was fine, quite nice to be honest better than expected. The All-inclusive bar was o.k too, plenty of drinks to choose from but cups are very small, one member of staff on the bar was very rude but the polite lady made up for it really. Pools clean but the sunbeds could do with being fixed. The only problem we had was the last day we checked out at 12 noon and our flight was not until 2am, the receptionist removed our wristband leaving us with no food or drink all day, after we paid for 7 night and only got 5 days worth of meals because of this and as we didn't arrive till early morning the week before, also other people that checked out that day got to keep them on?? People did get robbed there the last day when we were waiting around to come home, but if your safe with your valuables and watch your door it's fine. Don't let the bad comment's put you off it is a really nice hotel in a nice spot too local bars open till 6am and some nice restaurants around too, just be careful with your valuables if you leave them in your room. Hope this helped!!!

Going back
8 / 10
Aug 2011, Sur

Yes it is basic but it is Ibiza and most of the hotels are basic.
We went last year and are returning this yearas it is fine for our needs. We have a 5 year child who loved the swimming pool and the park. The bus stop is right outside so getting to the beaches is very easy. The rooms are kept clean and the shops are all close to the hotel.
Lovely holidays had there.

Stayed there mid July 2011, when we went in it was a lot better than expected! Clean, quiet, cosy...
Upsides:
Food - Everyone says how bad the food is - if you're not a snob, you won't have a problem with it. I thought it was delicious!
Pool - Got dirty at times with the plastic all inclusive cups falling into it, but people cleaned them out almost straight away.
Rooms - The rooms were very comfy, tv, shower/bath, hair dryer... The glass patio doors are basically sound proof, kept most of the noise out!
Local - There are alot of friendly bars and restaurants. Moby Dick serves nice food and Mar I Pins has free wifi, amazing pizzas and hot dogs served til 6am. There is also a water taxi near by for 2.50 euros which takes you to the west end.
Downsides:
-My brother's room got broken into. Luckily it was the end of the holiday and only £20 went missing, but make sure you use the safety deposit boxes!
-The maid's come into your room every morning asking if you want it to be cleaned, but if you say "no" they leave straight away.
-The pool tastes very bad because of all the sun cream and is only cleaned once a week!
Apart from that, it was a great holiday and I wouldn't mind staying there again! All inclusive was very handy too! Alot of drink choices, bar open till 11pm. Not alot of snack choices! Plenty of shops opposite the hotel though :)

SERIOUSLY GUYS JUST READ THIS AND DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS ABSOLUTE HELL HOLE, IT IS NOT SAFE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Just arrived home from a girls holiday to this hotel, and i can honestly say it was the worst, most terrifying trip of my life. Monday morning me and my four friends aged 18 & 19, went to get pay to use our safety deposit box, when we got to reception, there was a woman screaming that all her belongings had been stolen, 500 euros, her phone, iphone, purse, everything! She insisted it was the staff as no one had forced entry and all the receptionists were totally blanked her, saying 'you have problem, you ring police'.
After this we were a little worried and began speaking to people by the pool. Its was SHOCKING! Most people had been stolen from, saying it had happened to them and that the keys were the same for each room on every floor. Peoples safety deposit boxes had been totally emptied!
On our third night we arrived back from a night out at about 6am to find a group of 17yr olds crying in reception, THE SECURITY MEN HAD GONE INTO THE ROOM AT 3AM WHILST THEY WERE SLEEPING AND TERRIFIED THEM! It was awful. They all got flights home as the were just too frightened.
The next day at lunch time, we went past reception where a blonde woman was crying, she was telling reception to ring the police as security men also went into her room whilst she was sleeping in the middle of the night, she also got a flight home!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It had happened to loads of people!!!!!!!
A stag-do went out, and arrived back to find each of their rooms with their rooms wide open and there was nothing left, NO MONEY, NO JEANS, NO PHONES, NO IPODS, NO IPOD DOCS, NO SHOES!!!!
We moved to another hotel but if we hadn't we would have got flights home! Everyone we spoken to had gotten things stolen, people were coming up to us and telling us to put bottles in from of our door so we would here them coming in, SO SCARY! STAY AWAY, I AM NOT JOKING AT ALL IT IS DANGEROUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This Place Gets an Unfair Rep

Having just got back from the Costa Sur today, I feel that the reviews of the place give it a very unfair reputation.
Yes, you wont be waited on hand and foot, yes its not 5* food, but for what you pay to get there, its an excellent little hotel.
We went in a group of 8, and had two rooms in the apartment half, and a twin room in the hotel half. Each room was clean, tidy and made up every day. The air con is great at keeping the room cool and fresh.
The restaurant was basic food, but as it has to cater for such varying taste, it did OK. On the last day we were there there was a massive paella which went down well with people who had it. The staff kept on top of it and as soon as anything ran out they replaced it quickly. Tables were kept clean and remade throughout the duration of the sitting.
Costa Sur had a decent mix of couples and young groups there. We spent everyday relaxing round the pool and didn't see any trouble or anything like that. Lots of friendly people and a very laid back atmosphere.
The staff, while working slowly as is Spanish culture, were generally helpful and diligent. There was just the one unhelpful staff member who was less than enthusiastic about helping you.
The staff do keep on top of rowdiness at night - we received three 'Wolf' (The security guy bore an uncanny resemblance to Wolf from Gladiators) warnings over the week and we weren't the loudest there by any stretch of the imagination.
Overall, I really enjoyed my stay here and would have absolutely no hesitation in going back to the same place. We stayed in a group of 8 after finishing university and loved it.

Horrible Hotel - Just Dont Go!!!

I just would not go! I am 16years old and had an amazing holiday in ibiza with my mam but we would never use this hotel again!
It was discusting the way the staff spoke to people, especially the woman that was in the dinner room... the only friendly people of the hotel was the cleaners. although our beds were clean, near the end of our 2 week holiday there was a lot of ants running around the floor and we told them repeatly about this and nothing was done.
Also a lot of the people we met whilist there told us that they were in bed and someone would come in and pinch there belongings. There was 2 girls and they both had babies, they were sat in the comfy seats waiting to get picked up to go the airport, they fel asleep and woke up, their bags were gone but no staff had seen!
Ihonestly think that it is the staff that is stealing everyones belongings and something should be done about it!
Please DONT go to this hotel!!!

Not the best

Costa sur wasnt the best hotel on the Island!
Was extremely worried as was last minute booking and I had read alot of bad reviews before arrival.
Some staff were friendly but most were very ignorant and didnt make you feel welcome.
Food was not at all edible! Had one meal in the week I stayed.
The rooms were very basic but clean, pool area was clean but did notice towards end of week alot of rubbish about the hotel and pool area. Woke up one morning to find damp beach towels laid down all the stairs due to a leak in the roof!!!
Watch all belongings and get a safe!! few people we got to know in the hotel had rooms broken into and belongings such as passports money etc stolen.
Few people who were leaving on the same day as us had their bags stolen at the pool with passports and tickets.
Not ideal hotel for families

OMG i'm eighteen.
I loved ibiza but please no one stay here.
The people advising you not to worry..
They normally go for new arrivals(young people)
We had to sleep hugging our bags. Took our passports&plane tickets everywhere.
People were getting there cases cut open.
We stayed in night one night, watched the hotel member trying to get in through our window(on lower floor beside pool).
Dont go in the pool its minging. You have no idea what we seen. There was human poo lying beside the pool for days!! The staff are idiots. They dont help you. Useless, unhelpful. never happy.
We had to clean our room it was that bad, my bed fell apart. The curtains fell of the floor. Just dont go there. anyone! They dont let you in if your drunk&in late. He said he was going to call the police because me and the girls were laughing in the hall way?
