Riu Taino Hotel

My wife and I recently stayed for two weeks at the Riu Taino, which we chose after comparing several resorts by their services and amenities, photos, and customer reviews. We were looking for a place where we could relax full-time, and where our most difficult decisions would involve nothing more stressful than whether to sleep in or get up early and watch the sunrise, whether to go swimming or have another pina colada, or whether to try the pasta or the grilled fish. WOW! what a fantastic 2 weeks spent at the riu taino. loved the hotel, wonderful beach, friendly staff, we just had an overall great time. the dominicans just love the canadians and try to make the stay even more enjoyable. they love practicing their english with you. can't make any judgement calls on the food, we don't go on vacation to be food critics, there was lots of food and quite a variety. we didn't get sick which is a good thing, especially since we were told before we left, that everyone gets sick in the D.R. we had no rain, lots... more

What a delight! For the past 12 months, I have been to Manzanillo, Cuba; Riu Jalisco in P. Vallarta and recently returned from Riu Taino at P.C. Comparing all 3, Riu Taino is the best trip so far. Have to say, this trip by far came out to be better then what I had ever expected. I went with my mom on September 13th 2003 - September 20th 2003. Some of these bad review are just unreasonable. You must be the pickiest person to think that this hotel isn't great. The animation team was amazing, they work from 9am - 12am everyday 7 days a week, and they are very hard workers. This pass summer my family and I had a wonderful time during our vacation. My girls enjoyed the shows, kids camp, and the food. We enjoyed the beaches and and the tours we took. Having spent vacations in many caribbean islands I really have to give the Riu people a big thumbs up and a round of applause! These people really know what the service industry is all about. By this, I mean sastifying their customer. Their location and beach in Punta Cana is comparable to some of the most exclusive islands. So is their quality of service! We took our three daughters (17-23) for school break in Feb 2001. It was the best holiday ever. The hotel was super clean, the food fantastic and the coffee was to die for. If you have been to Paris and love the coffee there then you will know what I mean. We are going back to this hotel this winter and look forward to that coffee. I am a runner and would run 10 km every morning and it is the only beach I have ever run in my bare feet and not have to worry about debris or washed up denizens. Just returned from Riu Taino yesterday! Great vacation if you like heat and humidity! Very hot! Make sure you're air conditioner works well in your room, because it is the only place that is air conditioned! Unless of course you are a gambler and you end up in the casino which is nicely air conditioned! Don't mind the VERY RUDY Europeans! They have no common courtesy! Just got back from the RIU Taino. The food was excellent, the rooms were immaculate, and the staff was super friendly. The entertainment team was fabulous...so full of energy and life. There are many different activites and excursions to choose from. One to definitely put on your list.

Hi. I went to Rio Taino in June. I took my husband, my baby of 18 months and my 2 aunts with 60 years old. We loved it, all of us. The food is good, the crew is the best and the animation team is very good, too. They were very care with the baby and he loved the place! The beach is just there, is not too big.
