Food very good - smokling allowed in hotel except dining room - swimming pool not heated - staff very friendly - Atlas tour receptionist based in hotel very helpful - tourist train available to take you into Porec - beaches have no sand so some kind of footwear is required - lots of play areas for children - bike hire available - walking around the shore line was easy as paths there - lunch outside the hotel reasonably priced pizza ranges from 35 kunas about £4 - did not eat lunch at hotel.

This was our first visit to Croatia,...

Sep 2007, Mr D HUNT

This was our first visit to Croatia, what a great choice we made.Apart from the long delay flying with Monarch (over 6 hrs) a little information would have helped ease the frustration. The transfer around 1 to 2hrs. Although late checking in and evening meal was about to finish the hotel was more than happy for us to have a meal. The room was spotless, decent size, dressing table, tv, large wardrobe, bedside cabinets. The bathroom had a power shower (which was great after a long walk) We had a side view room with small balcony, the sea view rooms did not have balconies. No tea and coffee making facilities in the room and the hotel are not happy for guests to use own electrical items even though there is nowhere to get a drink once the bar is closed however there is a fridge in the room with water, soft drinks and minatures.
The staff were great although very busy and worked long hours they always found the time to chat or help. The room was cleaned everyday and towels and bed changed more often than we can remember. There was plenty of food (some a little too salty) they catered for all nationalities which is why we think food was a little repetative, but there was always something we could eat. All meals buffet style. The pool was clean, big enough for the amount of guests that used it at the time we were there although should imagine could be a little crowded in the high season.A great plus is that all sunbeds are stacked up and chained up at night so no towels are on beds until the staff put beds out in the morning.Entertainment not great same duet each evening singing same songs.Porec itself was spotless, some great walks, watersports, hire bikes, a noddy train (around £1) to take you to the old town 10 mins or lovely walk 25 mins all flat no hills or steps, walk on sea front or through the trees ,we felt very safe day and night as did everyone we spoke to. Very limited shops and bars near the hotel but plenty in the old town. The sea front is more like a promenade no beach has steps into the sea, plenty of sun lounges, places to eat but not overcrowded with hotels appartments and bars. All in all a very unspoiled country. We were told by our tour operator that we could easily have a day trip to Dubrovnik, wrong information, it was a coach to airport, flight, another coach and back again. Driving would take around 12hrs plus you needed special insurance to get you through the small strip of Bosnia which no company would give. Coach travellers touring manage to drive through ok.
There was not many english speaking guests but we met Vinnie & Mary , Ann & Dave, we swopped stories, had a good laugh but we also managed to communicate with many other guests from many countries.
Limited english cigarettes but other makes very cheap as was alcohol, duty free on return again limited but cheap,. prices in euro but staff willing to convert no problem. Great flight back , can't spend Kuna on flight just sterling and euro.On the whole a great holiday looking forward to going again maybe south this time.

Jun 2007, Miss C Chamberlain

Just had a great week at this hotel. We stayed in the village; they were small bungalows in parkland next to the hotel. We hired a small fridge £1.50 a day. The cleanliness and friendliness were exceptional.
I agree with the previous reviewer the food was excellent and can see no reason why anyone would thing otherwise. Choice was great and varied on a daily basis for the dinner. They were still putting out food 15 minutes before it was due to close so no fear of not having fresh or enough food.
They put on traditional music and dancing for us the last night with traditional fare in the restaurant. Service was efficient and friendly and well run.
The hotel is about 1/2 an hour walk into Porec old town along the coast and parkland or catch the small train for a pound. Porec is a very beautiful architectural town with its pedestrian cobbled streets.
Would be happy to go back.

I absolutely loved this hotel. The rooms were spotless and the hotel was really well equipped, with the Internet and tennis courts as well as mini golf and table tennis next door.
The pool is a decent size though there were not enough sun beds as usual.
I must say I was quite mystified by a review I have just read about this hotel that the food was awful. Were we staying in the same hotel? The food was delicious, especially on the fisherman's night.
There was always an excellent selection of soups, salads, vegetables, pasta, pizza and meats and fish in the evenings. At breakfast there were breads eggs, bacon, salad, fruit, cakes and cereals.
I would definitely go back to this hotel for the food alone. I wish I was there right now!

Aug 2006, Mrs J Torley

I booked this holiday with my travel and had looked at the reviews prior to booking and found that a lot of hotels do not have air conditioning.
I specifically asked when making the booking did the village have air conditioning I was told yes only to find the hotel is air conditioned not the village rooms so beware when booking with my travel.
The hotel is spotless as is every where in Porec the streets are so shiny you can slip on them. The food in the hotel was awfull. We booked half board but knew we would eat out. We ate twice in the hotel other than that we ate out. Total contrast in the restaurants the food is superb we were spoilt for choice.
