More Traveller reviews of Ville Kolocep Hotel
Stunningly beautiful, fantastic facilities coupled with great customer service. The pictures really don't do it justice.

I've read through a few other reviews and they've pretty much said it all so I'll keep this brief. This is a true 5 star experience in terms of location (the bay is absolutely stunning), accommodation (can't think of how our junior suite complete with sea view could have been better), activities (went walking, kayaking, snorkeling and on a couple of unofficial excursions) and the food and drink on offer (breakfast and evening buffet were very reasonable, the local Croatian wines were very palatable and the local beer Orjusko was a real...

No Fuss, Just Relaxation
from Craigtown
First a bit of context - My wife is 7 months pregnant and was in need of a spot of relaxation given our upcoming arrival. I'm not normally a beach holiday fan, but on this occasion I was looking for somewhere to chill out and do nothing. This hotel was very reasonably priced and although it requires a ferry from the mainland this only serves to increase the blissful seclusion. We took the Atlas bus to the Gruz harbour (35 kuna) and then the ferry onwards to Kolocep (17 Kuna, 30 mins) The ferry company runs four times daily except...

A haven of peace
from Pogs147
Have recently returned from a 10 day stay at Villa Kolocep and had a fantastic and thoroughly relaxing stay. This was our first visit to Croatia and we were very impressed. Getting to the hotel requires a 30 min journey by Atlas coach (about £3.50 per person) or taxi (about £30) from the airport to Port Gruz and then a 25 min ferry trip on the regular Jadrolinija ferry to the island (about £4.50 per person). The hotel does put on water taxi facilities if the ferry times are not convenient but these need to be pre booked and are much...

Absolutely stunning views and relaxation
from LuckyIrishYank
My husband and I stayed on the island of Kolocep for our first visit to Dubrovnik. It was a great island for relaxation and beautiful scenery. We wanted a holiday for pure relaxation, sunshine & great food. That is exactly what we got. The locals were friendly and the food was brilliant. The hotel was comfortable, clean and great value. The local tratatoria had great food (a lovely steak and chips (€13.00) or pizza for very little cost and the local beer was good and also cheap (€2.50). There is also a wonderful, more upscale...

Peaceful Island Haven
from halfboard
Reading other reviews on here, we had high hopes that Kolocep would be as good as it was reported. I can now confirm without hesitation that this turned out to be the case. Beautiful location ( ask for a sea view room and you won't be disappointed) and a totally peaceful island. Hotel was excellent. Good choice of food, both for breakfast and evening meal (though breakfast eggs were never hot enough!). Media centre in room was a brilliant inclusive extra and provided TV, internet access and a film library of 111 films. Plenty of walks to...

Excellent get away!
from Timems
Brilliant rooms (we emailed to ask for a sea view room and it was a fantastic view, no extra charge), Media centres in rooms with many films and good internet access. Friendly staff, excellent breakfast, Kayaking around the island was very easy (we casually managed it in well under 3 hours) no need for the expensive organised tour. Restaurants on the island not brilliant but hotel buffet was good. Wednesday and Saturday nights late night boat back from Dubrovnik. Ideal for a quiet get away not good if you want an active nightlife.
Quiet, Beautiful Island Getaway
from executive_function
Our stay at Villa Kolocep was the highlight of a seven-country European tour. This laid-back island with picture postcard views at every turn is an ideal destination for visitors who need relief from the tourist circuit. The setting is spectacular. Villa Kolocep sits on a small bay with a Croatian rarity--a small sand beach. A fine, simple, freshwater pool overlooks the beach. Island hills and mainland peaks frame every view. Kolocep Island has 120 inhabitants grouped in 2 small villages. There are 2 local restaurants, a small...

A peaceful place
from dressedforsuccess
We stayed for just over a week and had a lovely, relaxing family holiday. The room was clean and comfortable and adequte for our purposes. We found that the longer we stayed the friendlier the staff became and they were always very helpful. My husband and I were with our three-year-old daughter and it was a great location for us. The hotel has a lovely swimming pool and the adjacent beach is perfect for young children. As previous reviewers have mentioned there is not a really any choice of restaurants and this is not a...

Perfect place for a relaxed break with kids
from bowjam70
The hotel itself was clean, with modern facilities such as internet and free video-on-demand access in the rooms, and all rooms came with balconies and air-conditioning. As the rooms are separated into a number of blocks, rather than one central building, there is no easy access to rooms for blocks further back from reception, which means it could be a fairly difficult walk up steps with suitcases to get to those rooms. There did not seem to be much in the way of available assistance, but I'm sure if people did have difficulties, help could...

Very relaxing hotel and island
from Clare28
We stayed here for a week and so feel we can give a good picture of what to expect! This hotel is of a very good standard; clean and comfortable and providing very good food and drink. We were full board and found there were always plenty of lovely things to eat from the self-service buffet. Even kids got adequate provision with chips/pizza, etc. offered as an option at most meals. But the fish and salads are wonderful. The staff are mostly very friendly. Some (e.g. behind the bar!) are a bit surly but this is probably partly due to...
