Ibis Schiphol Airport Hotel

Flew KLM and booked with Opodo as they offered cheapest flights for period required. Efficient service on full flights both directions. Self service check in very user friendly(better than BA), particularly at schipol. Felt seat room was very tight compaired with BA or even Easyjet.
Ibis airport hotel has free regular shuttle bus from outside terminal to hotel. Shuttle also carries to other Accor group hotels and is overcrowded mid to late morning when heading toward the airport but is much more spacious at other times. Hotel was booked via Accor website and received a late booking discount price of 69euro per night per room (usually 79euro) B&B. Have previously booked this hotel via octopus travel (via Easyjet website) & they give good value & a clear indication of total price.
Hotel is very clean with efficient, helpful staff except in the bar, where they couldn’t give a toss, but drinking in a hotel bar in Amsterdam is a sin anyway.
Room comfortable with safe to deposit valuables, comfortable bed & a quiet atmosphere missing from a lot of hotels. Room cleaned to immaculate standard & ‘do not disturb’ signs respected.
Ate in one of the hotel restaurants one evening; service a little on the slow side but food & wine vg.
All in all pretty good, going back with the out-laws in December. Worth the trip if only to pick up 16 cartons of cigarettes at 1/2 ‘greedy Gordon’s’ price but don’t bother with spirits as the price is no better than the UK.
