Lanzarote is a very family friendly Island. Club Oceano was recommended by friends over twenty years ago. Its run by a lovely family and their reception and bar staff are all from Britain and have worked there a long time too, they are very friendly and go out of their way... more

All staff very helpful and friendly. Plenty of sun beds. Rooms spacious and clean regularly cleaned and bed changed with TV if required in lounge and kitchen. Good bar with Tvs. Reasonably priced food and drink. Supermarkets near with shops and lovely beach a short walk away. Booked again for next year same room.

We went to Club Oceano to celebrate our wedding anniversary and took 11 family members with us, ages from 3 to 30. There was no entertainment, but this was not required as PDC has it all on the strip. Great pools for all ages. Food good if eating in. Apartments good level... more

Stayed here last year,when booking it on the phone in England I was promised a lovely room with a huge balcony overlooking the pool, on arrival we were put in a pokey room in the corner with a small terrace and nowhere to sit in the sun i.e. dark on the terrace, although it was dark when we arrived i immediately asked at reception, and explained we were promised a large balcony. i was told there was nothing available, the room we had backed onto a road, and that was it,noise from 1.30am through till 4.30am 1 hours sleep and then the bin men... more

Just got back from the Club Oceano. Here are my thoughts… British owned and run complex, with a high percentage of repeat customers. All bar and reception staff are English and all the guests seem to be British as well. Seems to attract large mature groups who tend to congregate around a section of the pool. Fairly old but well looked after complex. It has 40 apartments on ground or 1st floor, half East facing, the rest South facing. We had a pleasant few days at half term at Club Oceano and weren't disappointed. The apartment was a good size, kitchen really well equipped (so, you had to make tea then plug in the toaster, not so very difficult we found), beds comfy (even the fold up bed daughter slept on), bathroom clean and spacious. The ants were promptly dealt with when we mentioned them - this is the sort of thing you find in warmer climates and must expect some creepy-crawlies, what matters is how the management react to it. Just returned from the Club Oceano Apartments 24th October. Superb apartments,1 bedded apartment is really big, large balcony, you could sit about 6 on easily, loveley view over the pool, rooms cleaned every other day,pool cleaned every day, bar excellent very friendly staff. Hotel is located about 3 mins walk to the beach and the main strip. The strip itself its ok, lots of tourist tack shops though and people trying to get you in bars. the old town / harbour is lovely, takes 20 mins to walk or 2.50 euros!!!!!!! taxi from airport... more

Just back from a week in the Oceano apts. Requested a ground floor apt. and got it. The only thing was when we arrived there was a problem with ants in our apartment. Wouldnt mind if it was just the both of us but we had an 8 mth old baby girl as well. But the management and staff were very helpful and moved us as soon as we made the complaint. We have just returned from a 2 week stay at these apartments in Puerto del Carmen and given what I'd read on here before we went, I have to say we were a bit disppointed. The apartments were very basic and I suppose you get what you pay for..... I'd read that the whole complex had been renovated recently, so I was disappointed to see that the improvments seemed to have been confined to the public areas - the pool and bar area were quite nice. Thanks to Lanzalass69 for your comments regarding Club Oceano. It is a shame that you didn’t mention any of your comments to our management team at Club Oceano as some of these matters could have been addressed at the time. Last year all the external and public areas of the complex were refurbished and the complex was closed for some three months. During this time we installed the flat screen TV’s in all the apartments. So far, yours is the only complaint regarding the rental costs of the TV’s. We felt that having the TV’s on a rental basis, when and if people wanted to use the TV’s, was fairer than imposing a blanket overall charge and including it within the rental cost of the apartment. There are only a few people who actually chose to use the TV’s in the apartments when they are on holiday especially when there are three large screen TV’s in the bar area. We DO NOT refill branded bottles with a cheaper substitute, the only bottles we refill are the lime cordial bottles which we use washed out wine or spirit bottles for. Sometimes the plastic pourers on the spirit bottlenecks break and the contents has to be transfered to a different bottle. Our bar staff are generally very highly praised by our clients. Many of our staff develop lasting friendships with our clients. They do not try to push themselves on people and if, they judge that someone is a little more reserved, they take note of this and act accordingly. With regard to your comments regarding the sofas and beds, I am sure that you will appreciate that one person’s comfort may differ from another’s. Again, if you had mentioned this to our management team, we could have supplied extra cushions, mattresses etc. Likewise, with regard to any disturbance you encountered from the road, if you had spoken to the management team on site, they would have tried to find you a quieter apartment. We try to ensure that there are sufficient sunbeds around the pool at all times and do not encourage the reservation of beds. Again, if you felt that there were insufficient beds or that people were reserving beds and not using them, a word with my colleagues in reception, would have sorted the problem for you. With regard to the staffing, I am pleased that our maid and maintenance staff met with your approval. It is a shame that you did not discuss your feelings with the management team at Club Oceano as many of your issues could have been addressed and rectified by them. We pride ourselves on a 75-80% repeat and recommended clientele and we hope that every one of our clients will enjoy their stay with us. Ocean Club Holidays

just returned from 2 weeks in lanzarote and would like to say anyone who is looking for a good standard of self catering accomadation the club oceano are well equipped apts with kettle, toaster ,tv plus also an iron and ironing board provided. there is a very nice pool area with a chidrens pool plus a jacuzzi,plenty of comfortable sun beds are provided so no need to get up early to get one ,onsite is good snack bar serving good quality food till 8 in the evening ,we found the staff who were all english to be very friendly and helpful. lots... more

My partner and I are just back from a 10 day break in Lanzarote. Our first time there. We stayed at the Club Oceano Complex in Puerto Del Carmen. The accommodation was excellent. The complex itself is situated in a residential area of Puerto Del Carmen, however it is only a 10 minute walk to the numerous shops, pubs and restaurants.
