Excellent small hotel. Spotlessly clean and very helpful staff. Surprised to see a fridge in the room and air con as it has been a few years since we were last in the islands but both worked! We would recommend this hotel for a quiet, relaxing holiday but with plenty of bars and restaurants within easy walking distance. Went on two good tours, round the island with an expat who was extremely knowledgeable, and a boat trip which was very good value for money.

Wow, what can’t I say about this lovely island? Palm Trees Hotel is fantastic, basic rooms but very clean and ample space. We stayed on the 2nd floor, apparently the best views but I believe they are still beautiful from the 1st floor.
Niko is a lovely man and works very hard to keep everyone happy. Mama makes the meals, great cook and also puts together a lovely salad. Step out of the hotel, go through some small but lovely gardens and straight to the stony beach; absolutely beautiful. Walk five minute to the right along the beach and come to a lovely harbour with great boats of all sizes to see. Facing the harbour are all the tavernas and restaurants, they all look very romantic when lit up at night looking over the harbour.
Take a boat trip and if you’re lucky as we were, you might see the dolphins; this was fantastic and very emotional to see them playing in the sea. There are plenty of watersports on the beach, paragliding was fabulous - me and my husband duo paraglided looking at the magnificent views.
I loved this holiday from start to finish and will try to book for next year, unfortunately you have to book quite early because once you have been it is very likely that you will want to return. and most people do. Hence it is hard to get a room.

Also holidayed here in Aug 07 and agree with all the aforementioned comments.
I totally fell in love with this place, both the Hotel and the Island and the views are simply beautiful. This is such a relaxing island and the people, especially Dina and co at the hotel, are delightful. Agree too about the Maistrali, with the food and service being first class.
I must also mention Joanna, the Direct Greece rep who was superb. Warm, professional, and efficient at all times. We went on several boat trips organised through Direct Greece, all of which were hugely enjoyable and good value.
We only stayed a week and it was definitely not long enough! Will definitely go back to both this hotel and this resort at some point in the future. Missing it already!

We have just come back from a fantastic holiday at the Palm Trees hotel in Nidri, Lefkas. We had never heard of Lefkas until we were looking for a late deal holiday with direct holidays, and just happened to find that there was a week available there when we wanted to go.
We found out about Nidri and the Hotel Palm trees and decided to book, as all the reviews seemed to be really good.
They were all true, the hotel is run by a lovely Greek family, and Dina speaks really good English. She has three lovely children and while we were there her husband also came from Athens to stay for his holiday. They make everyone really welcome and can't do enough for you.
The rooms are basic but clean, and the views from the balconies across the sea are like a picture postcard. The hotel is right on the beach and even though the beach is stony this didn't matter, and all of the children there didn't seem to mind. There are loads of water sports to choose from.
The harbour and main street is right by and there are lots of tavernas to choose from to eat. We found the Maistrali to be the best which is opposite the day cruise ships. There are also lots of bakeries nearby.
The main road is busy but there is a bypass due to finished soon, but there was no noise to be heard in the hotel from the busy road.
This is the sixth time we have been to Greece and we have enjoyed every holiday there, but this is the first time that we feel that we would like to go back to a place, as it just seemed to be everything and more that is wanted from a holiday.

We booked last minute and got the best deal ever. We had a wonderful time at the Hotel Palm Trees. The Family who run the hotel are the friendliest people we have ever met. They really make you feel welcome and part of the family.
The hotel is spotless and is right on the beach and it has some wonderful views. We would love to return and hope to someday.

This was our second visit to the hotel palm trees, the first being in 2003.
This small, family run hotel is a pure delight. The views (especially from the 2nd floor) are spectacular and the Hotel clean and welcoming. The hotel is owned by mama and Papa (who speak little English), helped by the daughter Dina and Nikos (both speak English excellently).
From the moment you arrive to the moment you leave, you are made to feel like one of the family. The first was in 2003, it was my partner’s birthday and Dina helped to arrange a birthday cake which simply made her day. On arriving for the second visit in 2005, Dina instantly recognised us and came to welcome us back. With any holiday it is the little things that make it. These little things are in abundance at the Hotel Palm Trees.
The only problem we have now is that nowhere lives up to the standard and sheer pleasure we get from a stay at this charming hotel. This year (August 2006) we stayed at Parga (120km or so from Nidri) and although very nice, on our day trip by hire car to Nidri, we instantly wished we staying there instead.
Needless to say we have already book to go back to the Hotel Palm trees again in August 2007. We are already counting the days down.

Agree with most of the comments. Thought about giving 10/10 but then had a change of mind. We have been to a number of places in Greece. Some basic, some 4 star hotels but this is the first where the water supply regularly fails for around 2 hours each evening between 19:00 and 21:00.
Yes I know it’s high season in a hot country but like I said it’s a first for us and according to some, it’s something to do with not a lack of water but a lack of pressure.

We have just returned from a most memorable holiday on the beautiful resort of Nidri, but what made it extra special was the way we were treated at the Palm Trees Hotel.
On arrival you are warmly greeted by Nichos and his sister Dina and from that moment you are treated like part of the family with introductions to Mama and Papa and Dina's children Costas, Anna, and the latest addition baby Theo.
Not to be left out we were also introduce to Dina's husband Spiros following his homecoming from Athens where he has a business with his father. Nothing is too much trouble for Nichos and Dina and from the initial welcome you are addressed by your name with a cheery "how are you today" whenever they see you.
The breakfast is basic but typically English consisting of Orange Juice, Corn Flakes and Toast, Tea and Coffee. The hotel has a perfect location and every room has a sea view which gives spectacular views of the surrounding islands and the equally impressive harbour.
I would certainly have no hesitation in returning to the Palm Trees hotel as have many other people in the past.

We travelled in June last year with Direct Greece. Palm Trees is a small hotel where you feel like one of the family. If you want the spectacular views from the Hotel book rooms on the 2nd floor - 11 and 12 are the best. Lots to do during the day, nice bays to discover if you take the trouble to explore the Island.
Abundance of different places to eat at night and bars to have that last drink before bed. We have booked again for September 06 cannot wait. The only downside - the beach - it is a long narrow strip so the sun beds are close "quite cosy"!! Book now you will not be disappointed.

What a wonderful holiday I had, lovely family and nothing too much trouble. It's the 1st time I've had a holiday as a single person and I felt really safe and secure there.
Recommend it to any lady on her own. Can't wait to go back, but am having trouble trying to re-book at present!

A small 16 bedroom hotel, immaculately clean, once inside the room you open the shutters to a stunning view of the beach and ocean, which starts at the bottom of the garden. A family run hotel, mother, father, sister and brother. Nothing was too much trouble, we even joined in with their children’s birthday celebrations. The views out to Skorpios(Onassiss island) are incredible. Tavernas 2 minutes away, and they all remembered our names, even when we did not eat at the same ones every evening. The bakers around the corner, gave more food to us then we actually went in for, always with a smile. Our 11year old son wanted a Greek silver ring. Upon finding a jeweller he tried many on, and when we came to pay the owner she said she just wanted a kiss from him-no charge for the ring. we are booked in again for next year, they are all return visitors-some even eleven times!!

I have just returned from Palm trees and Dinas lovely family. It is warm and friendly, the children are so well behaved and helpful endeavouring all the time to practise their English. Mama and Papa, Dinas parents are ready with a smile, as they have little English and Mama cooks special Greek dishes. This was my first time on holiday alone and I was a bit nervous, but the family and the other guests made me very welcome, a number of the other guests were returning for the umpteenth time, which says a lot about the people and the area. All the rooms face the sea with balconys and the sea is just a few steps from the building itself. The views are
spectacular and the eating places in the area are numerous, such a lot of choices! I would certainly return again
