Excellent holiday all over and the hotel really helped with that.
It was quite a last minute booking, and we got a really good deal staying at this 3 star rated hotel.
However, on checking in we were up-graded for free by the receptionist to a business suite because apparently if they had the space, and as it was our first stay in the Golden Tulip chain, they wanted to make our vacation as great as possible.
Now, cynics might say it’s just a ploy to get our business in the future - and of course you are right - but it was unasked for, and the room was lovely.
All the staff made us feel very welcome and were very friendly- also not batting an eyelid when we came in at 6am from clubbing all night!
MY boyfriend and I had a great time. The hotel is well placed for the station and shops as well as the infamous red light district should that tickle your fancy...
There weren’t many restaurants we fancied very close by, but the whole city is very navigable either by food, tram or boat and you feel safe at night and so well in the mood for exploring.
Go to Amsterdam- you'll love it!

A lively group of 6 of my family went to Amsterdam for the first time and stayed at the Golden Tulip Amsterdam-Centre. The hotel was beautiful with everything very new looking and to a high standard. They also have all their Xmas decorations up and it made it look even more special.
The rooms just as nice however they seemed a little small perhaps due to the size of the super king size bed which was a very nice touch.
The location of the hotel was perfect for us new comers as we wanted to be within easy reach of all the main attractions.
Breakfast was nice and a wide variety including a good attempt at cooked breakfast as well as cereal, fruit, croissants all that continental stuff.
They did have a nice bar downstairs but they didn't keep it open as much as they should (ie their opening times) but they were happy to open it for us. Staff were ever so friendly and really made us feel very welcome in such a posh looking hotel.

I was staying in the hotel to do day trips which was very convenient because the railway station next to the hotel brings you to Amsterdam and The Hague in a brief period of time. The distance to the city centre was also great, I went to different places by foot only.
In the hotel, the hotelroom was comfortable and beautifully decorated. The service I got was good: I had great help at the front desk and the service in the restaurant was nice. Even the breakfast was one of the best hotel breakfasts I ever had.
I definitly will return.
