We booked on-line llayda hotel and appartments, the advertisment stated that there were 3 swimming pools, laudry service, kids entertainment. There was also a picture of a slide shown.
When we arrived the hotel had 2 swimming pools, no laundry service and no entertainment. The slide in these appartments looked nothing like that in the advertisement we saw and thought we booked on the internet.
The place we are staying is friendly. We have no complaint with the staff or accomodation here. We are putting this on holiday reviews because we feel sunmaster are breaking trading standard rules by giving out false information to make these appartments appeal to families. We are still on holiday at the moment and tried to make a complaint to the overseas assistance we could not get through.
We are having a good timeş. We just wanted to make people aware to be careful when booking on the internet. Things are not always what they seem.

It was quite a good holiday. The bar staff were very friendly. Especially Adnan look out for him. We ate in the hotel a few times but ate out mostly (good pizzas at ilyda). Were even thinking about going back in October we enjoyed it that much. We done quite a few excursions whilst we were there. If you go with Scotravel i wouldn't recommend booking any excursions with them as the rep Ali was there 3 Times in 2 weeks whilst we were there. He also was very unhelpful as my brother booked Diving and cancelled. So Ali said he would get us the money back and never bothered to get us it back. If your looking for a good night out go down to the beach front and have a look at some of the bars there. Salt 'n' pepa is a good club and has quite reasonable prices. As your walking down the road you will get hassled a lot just keep walking past them. Also the icemeller market is better than the mamaris one.

My friends and I stayed at the Club Ilayda this June and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. There was 9 of us all together, and we didnt expect to be able to please everyone, but was pleasantly surprised with our first time in Turkey.
Hotel was clean and tidy, and we had our sheets and towels changed regularly. The staff were lovely and didnt hassle us as much as we'd been warned they might! Ozzy was especially helpful, teaching us bits of Turkish, so Merharba to him!
We did loads of trips that we booked with UNCLE JOHNS, (opposite of clup ilayda), all of them really good value for money. Jeep Safari was the most fun any of us had had in years (and we're not a quiet bunch!), and our driver Tarzan made the day! Also went Diving and White-water Rafting, both experiences not to be missed! We booked a boat trip with Nostradamus Tours, they were just after Uncle Johns on the same street and nabbed us but the transfer didnt come to get us so UNCLE JOHN sent us on his boat instead!
We ate in the town most nights, but the hotel food was pretty good, and cheap too. Local resturants were a bit hassly, but the hotel staff said its because the season is not very busy this year and everyone is competing for the same business. We ate at Anfi Restaurant a few times, good fry ups and lovely steaks in the evening. Staff were so friendly and they couldnt do enough for us, even when we just stopped in for a drink!
We liked Icmeler market better than Marmaris as it was open air, so not so hot, and the beach there was also much nicer. All in all though, 8 ouf the 9 of us said we'd stay at the Club Ilayda again, so thats pretty positive! Hope this review helps, happy holidays!

After reading some of the reviews on here i was utterly scared and as this was my first ever holiday aboard i was even more worried.
When we arrived at the hotel which is about a hour and half transfer time from airport it was 5.30am and i was very suprised. The night staff were very welcoming and helpful, and spoke very good english also. The room was very basic but clean and tidy and there was plently towels and fresh bedding which is normally something thats lacking.
When we went it was the north east school holidays but it was quite quiet still, the second pool was hardly ever used but thats a fab pool was a more relaxing time, the larer pool with the slide is great, deep enough to drive, safe enough for kids and not to deep where weaker swimmers would be wary.
The waiter staff were lovely and we made friends with a couple of them, they all speak very good english and were great with the kids.
The food at the hotel was fab and the prices were okay, if you looked about you could get it cheaper but we were happy where we were, we did eat out and there is some lovely places to eat, a lot do cheaper for large groups (there was 9 of us) and alot offer buy evening meal get free full english the next morning.
The town centre is lovely, loads of places to spend your cash however they are very pushing and i found it very over the top. Where we stayed there was a group of shops less than 5 mins walk where you could get top notch knock offs for just a cheap at town and was never hassled once they were only but kind and friendly.
We took a trip to turtle beach that we booked through a little agency (turn left out of the hotel reception down the road you see a shop called pound town its just at the other coner) but if you look straight opposite the hotel theres a little supermarket see the guy in there because he also owns the travel shop.
all in all i had a fab hol, the weather was great, the people wer great, the hotel was great and i have just booked my week away same time next year already and i only came back saturday.
enjoy i know you will............

I visited this particular place in May 07, i enjoyed the visit to Marmaris so much that i returned twice after that. However i never went back to Ilayda. I have never ever been so incenced by a place in my life! There is a guest book where you leave your email adds for future offers, i ddint realise i was adding my name int here to become a future offer!! About a month after my return from there i recieved a really bizzare email from a random guy telling me how much he had heard about me and how he had obtained my email address from this place. I am completely disgusted I now know my email address is in being passed around on the grounds that I am good looking and lots of fun (not sure how they came to this conclusion!!!!)
Not only that but while we were there we got harrassed by the staff who also gave mye mail out to each other! Thank heavens i did not give my number to anyone.
If you do choose to go adn stay in this over priced, lout filled dirty place please do not leave your email address!!!!!
Stupid of me as it was my own doing for being so trusting

Visited Ilayda for the first time and fully enjoyed ourselves! The Staff were very friendly and the pool was fantastic!
First day we did have problems with the air conditioning but as soon as we reported it we were sorted within the hour. Rooms are basic (but who wants to spend their holidays in the room anyway) but are clean. Facilities were fine this was advertised to us as 4 stars but would admit more 3 star.
I can agree that sunloungers were a problem, as people were leaving towels and going out for the day. If we couldn’t get a sunbed we would go down to the beach, again we met some really nice people; the beach although not big was ok.
All in all had a great time will go back next year the staff there made our time really enjoyable, especially the little guy behind the bar! You know who we are "Sex on the Beach"
People may say that you do get hassled there, to be honest yes they will ask you to come inside but not to the point they have got you by the collar, just one no and they will leave you alone.
Marmaris is a great place, fantastic food and people, would certainly recommend it!

Was horrified to read last few comments on this site just minutes after booking holiday through Sunmaster and can believe all of them to be true, bad, and good.
When we arrived we were impressed with the main entrance/foyer then was told our room (by not the best English speaker) was next door in the annexe. We had to ask a passing member of staff to show us the exact way.
First worry was, our, and other nearby doors in the poorly lit bottom floor corridor had damage as if by forced entry and had holes that had been kicked in and been "repaired".
Our room inside was reasonable; it did look as if it had been recently decorated albeit by blind amateurs! Sofa bed set up with clean sheets. TV which had the odd English channel (BBC 24 Hr news.) (but who wants to watch Telly) Air-Con which was up and running all week for no extra charge!
Fridge was clean and working. A small two element hob which we never used (looked a bit dodgy) but wasn't needed anyway. Kettle and enough clean crocks etc available.
The main bedroom was basic but ok, two single beds (easily pushed together) clean sheets and changed every other day.
Toilet and shower clean except for a bit of mildew in the shower cubicle and some of the wall fixings (shelving etc) were loose.
Our view from balcony, bearing in mind we were on ground floor, was of other very nearby hotels via lime trees (I can recommend fresh lime in glasses of nice chilled EFES pilsner).
Overall not bad.
Most of staff seemed pleasant and helpful, especially when ordering food and drink.
There are three pools, inc one with an aqua-slide (The water being turned off which effectively prevented further use around 5pm every night whether anyone wanted to use it or not).
This brings me to the only real criticism of which I was really annoyed about. It was reported at least twice, once by me about one set of ladders in main pool which one of the steps had broken/come loose on one side creating a potential hazard. The guy I spoke to did go and look and agreed there was a problem and went and spoke to another guy who I took to be a maintenance person, who only gave me a dirty look and nothing else!
Needless to say nothing was done to repair or prevent the further use of these potentially lethal steps whilst we were there (another 3 days).
Another warning! Be very careful around the pool as the smooth marble and water combination makes it very slippery as one elderly man found out when he slipped and had to be taken to Hospital by Ambulance (He is ok by the way). We were impressed by the promptness of the Ambulance crew (less than 10 mins from when he fell). There is a Hospital fairly close we think.
The food and drink at the hotel was fine but not all that cheap (Large EFES 4.5 YTL)
plain Pizza 10 YTL e.g. I suggest you find a restaurant called Leyla's "formally known as The Mayfair" walk towards beach following canal turn right to main shopping area before sea front and it's on the left somewhere not too far (10 mins? usually a bit drunk on way back, well at only 2.5 YTL approx £1 for large EFES What do you expect?) Oh and the foods cheap 'n' cheerful to 5 course for 13 YTL approx £5, soup, garlic bread any main course (except steak a couple YTL more) sweet (three flavour ice cream or pancake) Tea, Coffee or Turkish Tea Not bad Eh? Ok for us vegetarians as well! Served by friendly staff. We ate there for most of week.
Overall we enjoyed our stay in Turkey weather was great! If you don't mind being pestered by nearly every shop/restaurant person trying to get you spend your money eating or buying from their establishment then you will too.
A week is not enough!

My holiday for the last week in August with my husband and 3 young children was, overall quite disappointing at this hotel. This was because Ilayda is advertised as a child friendly 4 star hotel and it is so not.
Firstly, it must be said that it is more a 3 star than a 4 star so don't expect anything much more than a basic room for your accommodation, and only 2 single beds and 2 pullout sofas for the children. This left us no where decent to sit in the evenings when you wanted to chill out before dinner.
The main pool was good but disappointingly too deep for the kids, which then meant we had to purchase arm bands from across the road at an extortionate expense. Breakfast was ok, lots of nearby restaurants all selling the same kind of food but pretty good quality.
Marmaris beach was rubbish, one of those man made sand beaches about 20 mins walk from the Ilayda. Overall Marmaris is full of British holiday makers, mainly from North East and Liverpool. The resort is too commercialised, more like Blackpool pleasure beach than the Med.
Definitely wouldn't go to Marmaris again and has spoilt my view on Turkey. There are so many other idiyic and more beautiful places.

I booked this holiday through work (cosmos) for mum 44 nanna 78 auntie 43 my boyfriend 20 and myself 18. We took a wheelchair for nanna as she cant walk far distances.
When we arrived they tried giving us 2 rooms on the 3rd floor not possible with nanna so after an argument trying to tell the receptionist, who didn’t speak very good English, me and boyfriend in 1st room ground floor and everyone else ground floor further down.
All the rooms get a pool view either the waterslide view or pool view at the back of hotel although you cant see much with the overgrown trees and plants blocking the view from the balcony.
The 1st week was fine but the 2nd week my boyfriend and I came in from something to eat and found 6 cockroaches, 3 on the bed and the others ran under the cupboards, well I went mad at reception who said get some spray from the market!
I said no you get someone to shift them ok, someone will come I hour later no one arrived so I told my mum, she killed them so I went to bed.
Day after same happened another 3, complained let us stay in another room that night but had to go back in the morning after a row the next day I managed to get room transfer and they said that they will disinfect the original room I noticed 2 days later that new arrivals had been put in that room!
The water slide was great fun but dangerous no one to supervise at the top of the slide kids were climbing up at the bottom as people were going down and also allot of children injured themselves as no one waits at the top until you are in the water and kick you in the back.
Grown men and women fighting over sun loungers as people would go to the beach and leave towels for 3 hours come back and sunbathe round the pool.
My mum got up every morning at 6 to make sure we had beds most of them would already have towels on at that time.
One day mum tom (boyfriend) and I went for breakfast down the way at dominos which I recommend. Only there for 1 hour max we came back and our towels had been taken off and left on table, the manager did this to them all as everyone started arguing we got them back but we had no choice as everyone else did the same.
So what should be done is a sign any towels un occupied more than 1 hour report to reception and get towels therefore no arguments around pool everyone happy. Also people would put sun loungers together blocking the walkway to the pool and several times had to climb over tables and sun loungers to enter pool area.
The food ok in hotel but go to dominos free internet and play stations for kids free. English breakfast next morning. This is my 5th visit to Marmaris and the worst place I’ve ever stayed never returning to club Ilayda again and I’ve made our managers aware I think it shouldn’t even be in our brochure!

i stayed at club ilayda for 2 weeks. 23rd june - 6th july.
flew from glasgow airport, got delayed for 4 hours!
was really good. rooms clean.
most barstaff were really nice expecially adman! he let us put lipstick on him :-)).
there is 3 pools, theres a big pool and baby pool at the front, and theres another door near the reception which leads 2 the back which is another quieter pool ( 3rd pool ) with a playpark and mini zoo, not really a zoo just some pidgeons, chickens and chicks! we just discoverd this part of the hotel on our 2nd week!
the slide in the big pool i found really dangerous, the stairs are veryy shaky & the first time i went on the slide i got a friction burn down my arm and twisted my ankle and couldnt walk right for 3 days! the only thing i can say that wasnt that good was there wasnt alot of teenagers and there was no entertainment, the bar closed at half1 / 2am and the drinks were expensive ( we took drink with us from duty free ). and one of the barstaff ( the one who looked a little gay with the big head ''no offence'' ) grabbed my brothers top by the scruff of the neck and picked him and threw him down on the floor, we complained but he denied it!
the september bar do a reallly nice scottish breakfast for 99p, 2 lira 50. the staff in there are really friendly :D. and the china town resteraunt just across from the taj mahal and point centre in town did really nice proper currys, the curry sauce tasted almost the same as back home except it looked abit darker.
