Aug 2007, Miss S Williams

Me and my 3 best mates all aged 18-19 went for a week in May...just as the nightlife was kicking off! This was the best holiday we have all ever had. We had the time of our lives!
Costas and Thomas were so funny and friendly, always offering us the strongest cocktail- "dog's bollocks" which was gorgeous!
The poolside was fab with music always playing, a good selection on ice creams which is always a good thing.
All of the food there was fantastic as was the service! The Malia strip was amazing...we never arrived back at the apartments before 5am! And Thomas was always very obliging offering us all cheese toasties when we rolled in... Fab!
We would all definitely recommend this place (for younger people)...what an amazing holiday!

Jul 2007, Mr Olliebooth

There were 18 of us aged from 17 - 21 staying at the legendry Sarpidon apartments and it was the most enjoyable holiday experience of my life.
Arriving at daft o clock on Sat morning we were greeted by Thomas (legend) and quickly shown to are rooms which were basic and cleaned regularly.
Spending a lot of our time lounging around the bar and pool area which I believed was by far the best in Malia. During the day there were loads to do from play station 3, music playing 24-7, films on a big screen, all sky channels and not forgetting the class pool and sunbathing area scattered around the poolside.
Just like to say that on Sunday nights the Miss Malia contest is a great laugh make sure you do it, great value, big bbq, good night then everyone goes down to the strip.
I would defo recommend it to all people who are up for a lively holiday because that’s what it is.
I would like to say a big thanks to all the staff there all legends and I would defo go back in the future.
If there is anyone reading this that was there when we were gets hold of us. Cheers.
Manchester boys.

Jun 2007, Mr W Dickson

I stayed at the Sarpidon Apartments in June 2007 and an absolute ball.
The apartments themselves are pretty basic but for the amount of time you spend in the apartment it doesn’t really matter.
The food at the bar is delicious and reasonably priced, the bar is open 24-7, and you can get a cheese toastie throughout the night.
The staff are extremely helpful Thomas and Costos who work the bar and Gordon who just does a bit of everything. I would recommend going to the bbq normally held on a Sunday where there is a quiz karaoke and Miss Malia competition (guys dressed by the girls) it was extremely funny.
Malia itself is a good night out, but I would recommend at least once staying off the main strip and going to the littler quiet bars where the people are extremely friendly.
The weather was unreal was early 40's when we were there, but it was expected to get a lot hotter. All in all Malia is a really good holiday.

Jun 2007, Ms L Roberts

6 girls from 29 - 34 went to The Sarpidon 29/05 - 12/06/07.
The apartments are clean and basic (as usual for Greek self catering apartments) but our 3 bed was very spacious.
The staff are all fabulous, Kostas and Tomas at the 24 hr pool bar were friendly without being sleazy, and the owner Catherine was really pleasant. Gordon was a little too persistent in making you buy the Sunday tickets, but the show nights really were worth it!
The apartments are about 5 minutes walk to the strip and 15 - 20 mins to the beach, ideal for a quiet life and the tavernas in the old town have great Greek cuisine.
Unfortunately our holiday was spoilt somewhat by the arrival in our second week of a load of younger holidaymakers who disrupted our peaceful poolside! This is obviously no fault of the apartments, but this is a warning for those looking for a peaceful break! Up until then there was a really good atmosphere by the pool as the 24 hr bar helps you meet people at all hours!
On the whole a fantastic holiday and I wouldn't hesitate to go again at the end of May, but I'll be avoiding it like the plague in peak season!

May 2007, Mrs Y A Chambers

Arrived early hours of Sat 4th May, met and greeted by Thomas, shown to room, straight down to the 24hr bar.
Well what a holiday, wanted relaxation, got it, rooms basic and comfortable, cleaned daily. Air conditioning available at a good rate, and anything else you required you just needed to ask.
Facilities there to do your own thing, although there was food on offer in the bar from 9 till late.
Just outside the main town in Malia village, 5 mins to main street and good ten minute walk to main strip and beach.
All staff very pleasant and could not do enough for you. Late checkout available for those bad flights back home.
Entertainment and barbecue on Sunday night, Miss Malia, well what a laugh, have already booked to go back in September, and also next year in May.
Early season ideal for those of the more mature age range, as high season is when all the youngsters go! Plenty of Local Tavernas nearby offering local Greek foods and of course Raki!
All in all a great time and would recommend to friends to go there, even just for a week. Well done all at the Sarpidon!

Apr 2007, Mr J Smith

Arrived at Sarpidon to be met by a confused man. The reason for the confusion was that we had declined transfers and hired car from airport. He did not know who we were.
However he was quick to inform us the bar was open 24hrs daily. As we both didn’t drink alcohol we declined the delights of the bar. I went to the bar on one occasion to ask if I could lend an iron.
They were very quick to point out that I hadn’t been near the bar all week and no iron available. The atmosphere wasn’t good.
The rooms were clean and tidy. The general decor of the complex was ok. Apart from the big SARPIDON sign at the end of the pool. This resembled the sign from the film my beautiful launderette. A bit tacky to say the least.
On one occasion my friend was walking down the stairs, he was intercepted and asked if he wanted an extension on the room. We declined, having already been told the high rate charged for this service.
We will not be returning to Sarpidon.

Me and my family stayed at the sarpidon, and I can honestly say it was the worst holiday I’ve ever been on, you get charged for toilet rolls, you have to make the towels last for about 2 or 3 days as the cleaners don’t come in that often.
It is definitely for the young and lively, the only thing I can say is that the food was nice, the rooms are very basic, The staff seem very frendly on your arrival but once they realise your not going to spend all your money in the bar they are not interested Gordon and his bbq tickets that was a wash out I bet the north east don’t miss him I know I don’t

Me and 3 mates stayed at the legendry Sarpidon apartments! I had an absolute ball! A bit of a walk from the beach, it’s a good 10 minute walk but I didn’t really go to the beach we stayed at the apartment eating a drinking all day! Great! Prices are ok too! The strip is the best I’ve ever been too!
The people that work there are fab too, really, really friendly ex-pesh Tomas!
Rooms are basic, but clean, which is all us youngsters want! Definitely recommend it!

Everyone seems to love this place...

Aug 2006, Mr M Cook

Everyone seems to love this place except me and my mates (15 of us in total). Fair play, the bar is useful and the food is good but the people that work there are only after your money. If you as much as open a menu, they appear beside the table asking what you want. Some may say good service but after a week or so its very irritating having them constantly trying to get money off you.
Gordon wouldn’t leave us alone about buying bbq tickets despite us all paying on the first day. Thomas started out as our best mate but kicked off every time we bought a drink from the supermarket because we weren't buying it from behind the bar and no popularity was gained when they charged us 75 euros to keep our room for a few more hours because we had a late flight and were only booked in till 12 mid-day.
Alright place but the staff spoil it by constantly trying to rob you blind and the bbq was a bit of a let down too.

May 2006, clairiebelle

Us 3 girls (in early twenties) spent a week in Malia at the Sarpidon Apartments and absolutely loved it! The apartments are in the old town which is not that far from the main 'strip', about a ten minute walk, (the beach is at the end of the strip), which is the perfect distance - close to all the action yet far enough so that in the early hours, after all night partying, you can get a peaceful night's sleep!
Everyone who works at Sarpidon is really friendly and the cleaners are very happy to quietly clean around you whilst you sleep in the mornings. The apartments themselves are very clean, everything works (showers/taps). The weekly Sarpidon quiz night is a must - you get great food, lots of alcohol and a highly entertaining night for a fair price.
After our holiday we all said that we would, without a doubt, return to Malia just to stay at Sarpidon again. Oh yes, and don't forget to sign the guest-book before you leave!

Jan 2006, Miss L Turnbull

I cannot describe how much I love these apartments! A large group of people from school all went to Malia in 2004 and we all stayed at different apartments. The Sarpidon Apartments were by far the cleanest, friendliest and the most lively! exactly what we wanted! So much so I went back for more in 2005!
The staff are really friendly and are guaranteed to be stood there when you roll in at 7am after a hard night partying............and offer you ANOTHER drink! Legends!
The cleaners come every two days and are very quiet so not to wake you if you're still asleep! (it did happen on one or two occasions) and they are very thorough too!
It is situated about 15 mins from the main night life but that gives you plenty of time to grab some food on your way to bed! And the beach is about a 20-25 minute walk away depending on how hung-over you are!
Overall, a fantastic place that I will recommend to anyone and everyone! And i assure you that you will see me there next year!

Three girls, 1 big room, air con etc...

Sep 2004, Miss V Victoria

Three girls, 1 big room, air con etc - brilliant.
Slightly out of the action but only a short walk to the beach road. Room was fabulous and the 24 hour bar is just what you need, when you think you’ve had enough, you walk in and always end up ordering just one more before bed! At 6am!
Thomas, Gordon (flash) and Sophie are great, however Sophie gets a bit miffed with females at times, don’t know why, maybe it was just us but we were hardly ever there! The bar snacks are great and you can order and have the food on your balcony. Fabulous!
can really complain they were all great, the people in the hotel staying are all really friendly and it’s a great atmosphere!
Approximately a 15 minute walk to the main street at night and 25 minute wander down to the beach. In any event it was brilliant! The hotel should just move nearer the beach then it would be perfect! I have never heard a bad word about this accommodation before I went and I now know why, its ideal, don’t hesitate get it booked you’ll really enjoy it! Don’t forget to sign the guest book at the Sarpidon before you leave! It makes for great reading!
