Hotel Adakule Reviews
" The Perfect Holiday! "
Submitted By: Kevin NairneWe arrived at the hotel just as the sun was setting and the amazing elevation of the hotel immediately treated us to the most spectacular sunset which could be enjoyed every night from one of many comfortable vantage positions whilst enjoying a chilled all inclusive beer or glass of tasty wine.
Our room was freshly refurbished, as I believe all of the rooms were, and it was to a high and very comfortable standard as was the entire hotel. However the lifts were peculiar to say the very least and I think had been programmed to entertain and play practical jokes on the guests, as you would push a button to go down and be taken to the top of the building instead, but who cares we were on holiday and it provided something to complain about.
Our holiday was booked all inclusive and we found the food always to be of a high standard with an exceptional range from which to pick; in fact, if anything, the selection was to big. There was lot’s to do in the daytime for our two children aged 6 and 11 years old, and the animation team were very attentive and put on a show and mini disco every evening. Since last year two more pools and a water slide complex has been added which are wonderful entertainment for the adults and children alike.
The Turkish staff was fantastic and so enthusiastic and helpful, our rooms were kept spotless and we were made exceptionally welcome.
Most of the other guests came from Holland, Belgium and Iran – IRAN! Yes, what a surprise, and if you get to know them, they are really lovely kind and caring people and not what the MEDIA has conditioned us to expect.
We had a wonderful holiday and would like to recommend this hotel to anyone who what’s a relaxing break; it’s not too loud and caters for all tastes.
I feel that the individuals who find can find more than minor faults with this hotel are possible people who would not be happy anywhere!
One negative point about the area, Kusadasi is vested by large cruise ships on a daily basis, sometimes five or six per day and the prices in the area cater for the deeper pocket, so if you are on a budget holiday do not think you will find it cheap to eat out in this area.

Submitted By: Mrs N Kavanaghwhen my guests arrived there was nobody there to greet them at the door, they didnt know where they were to go, the food was served at 10:30pm and our wedding was to finish at 12:00am
eventually when the food was served it was cold...i could right a story book on the things that this hotel promised me for my wedding day that i didnt get, i just dont have the time,
i will say, the hotel setting is beautiful (could do with a little update on furniture and paint etc) and its such a pity that the service wasnt up to standard i wouldnt even give one star for the service in this hotel, not to mention the hugely overpricing of drinks, and other foods. i dont think the owner would be too happy if he/she knew how the hotel was being run, it was an disgrace, i was embarressed to bring my closest family and friends such a long way to experience what we experienced, it was such a shame, I Would Not Recommend This Hotel for the likes of weddings.

Submitted By: Miss M DarmodyWent with my friend and had a great time, we stayed in an annex room which we loved as it was quite and had a balcony and the room was very tastefully decorated.
The food was great, room was cleaned daily with fresh towels and the staff are very helpful.
There are alot of germans and other foreigners who annoyed myself and my friend by theyre lack of respect to the staff ( snapping their fingers no pleases or thank yous... just think manners dont cost anything) the staff where great with us as we did show them respect so they would brink our drinks over when they saw our glasses empty without us even asking !!!
Kusadasi is very close with buses and taxis very very regular and there are bargains to be had..... dont be affraid to barter !!
The hotel itself is gorgeous and the private beach was fantastic for catching some rays.... to get a poolside lounger be sure to be up early to put your bed out !!
we are both young and found that if your single its not really ideal as the only single guys are the ones that work there !! more of a family and couple hotel but loved it and would return all the same .
Be sure on arrival to book your free a la carte dinner as the spaces are filled quickly.... its italian on a monday or seafood on a wednesday there is only one meal allowed per stay but doesnt matter how big your party as long as the vacancies are there.
Enjoy yourselves if youve booked as we certainly did : )

Submitted By: Miss Y TehraniThe food was great and there was a lot of choose from! The night time entertainment was ok, could be better though. The entertainment is ok for adults and older children but there is very little for smaller children except the mini disco they have.
Overall Adakule was a great hotel and we are certainly going back next year. If you do go to Adakule book a flight to Izmir airport as the one to Bodrum is a 2 hour journey to Kusadasi.
I would certainly recommend people to visit Adakule!

Submitted By: Miss E MoorfootThe entertainment varied from night to night but over all it was very good, with excursions to the local club for the younger guests. It was well organised and a member of the hotel entertainment staff were with you at all times.
I enjoyed it so much I am booking again for next year for a 2 week stay.

Submitted By: Mrs W LeeWe have two young children one of which is a fussy eater but there was always something he ate. The room was lovely and was cleaned everyday and clean towels left.
The food was lovely with lots of choice and made fresh in front of you.
The location was excellent with wonderful views of the sunset. Entertainment was okay we never went to the disco but the shows where good.
I guess one downfall would be the amount of steps but we expected this with the hotel built into a cliff! There were lifts which helped!
I would love to go back to this hotel but will fly to Izmir rather than Bodrum as I couldn't stomach the two hour transfer!
" Have just returned from The Adakule... "
Submitted By: Mrs S BoothThe staff were excellent and could not do enough for you. The food was excellent, there was not a night when you couldn't find something to your taste.
Would highly recommend this hotel and will indeed be looking to rebook for next year.
If there was anything I would add it would be that there were quite a lot of steps, so perhaps not suitable for more elderly guests.

Submitted By: Mrs C SweetingStaff were very pleasant. We were on the 5th floor with wonderful clean spacious rooms. Excellent sea views.
Food was presented well with lots to offer. Plenty of seating available. The hotel was clean .buses and trips were easy to get access to.
We have no complaints at all and will return we spoke to several people there and all enjoyed it. Night time entertainment maybe could be better but lots of different areas to go. Also for the price excellent value.
The above Bodrum airport report though was 100% correct. Think the hotel has been totally refurbished. Give it a try you will not be disappointed.
" Overall a great holiday but I... "
Submitted By: Miss M SolomonOn arrival to the hotel we were greeted and taken to our room quickly and efficiently. We were lucky to have a room on the second floor and although we didn't have a balcony we had a great sea view.
The mini bar is only stocked with one large bottle of water and is never restocked, but is big enough to hold bottles of wine etc.
The air conditioning worked in a fashion but we didn't bother with it too much as it just made the room smell of smoke. None of the rooms are kept non smoking.
On the whole I wasn't disappointed with the hotel but I wouldn't recommend people paying for an all inclusive deal. The food was standard buffet style and was very bland and didn't inspire you to eat it. The waiting staff didn't speak much English and I felt we were mainly ignored at dinner time.
I have been on many all inclusive holidays and I have never known a hotel not to serve cocktails before. The drinks available are very limited. Don't even bother going to the disco.
We only eat at the hotel for three nights the rest we went into Kusadasi town where we had fabulous steaks. This hotel is not a 5 star I would personally rate it a good 3 star.
" First impressions were good as... "
Submitted By: Mrs D StevensonThe bedroom was big and clean, but still the musty smell lingered (got used to it). The room was a bit shabby and had seen better days, but then I knew that five star in Turkey is like 2/3 in England. The mini bar was a 2 litre bottle of water. One English channel on the TV, BBC World News but keep watching and we found Top Gear coming on.
The linen was changed often and the bedspread had different patterns made into it every day. Clean towels were left every day. The disposing of toilet roll into a small open bin was a bit off putting but it's like that everywhere, maybe better if it had a lid, but an open bin! Needless to say other half was banned from doing a number 2 in the toilet and had to go to the hotels. I just couldn't put up with that! We took a walk around the hotel and I was still in two minds. Still thought about the pictures on the website.
However, after a day or two really started to like it. It is more of a family hotel, those wanting raucous Butlin style entertainment for yourselves and your children will be heavily disappointed it is a very quiet hotel except at 3.30 at the pool when the men become children in the water polo contest which is held in the kid's pool so they generally can't swim for an hour while that goes on, recommend watching it though men are hilarious.
The entertainment was thin, one night I thought we would go to a show and ended up being it. I won Queen of the Show beating Turkish women (90% audience Turkish, shock!), Iranian and a German. All good clean family fun! Won a bottle of wine and a bubble massage.
No films were shown in the cinema or if they were we didn't know about it. The internet was £4.00 for an hour much to the delight of our 10 year old, 3 antiquated computers, but hey they worked. The games room was basically that, a pool table, a snooker table and some archaic games machines.
The pool is too small for the hotel, however if you are not a pool person it's not so bad and it's better at particular times of the day. You also have the "beach" (stones) and the jetty with two other areas also to sunbathe or swim in the sea.
The hotel is a lot bigger than what it shows on the internet and if you don't like lifts there are lots and lots of stairs or slopes. We found the food okay, there is so much of it there is bound to be something that you like. My other half and my daughter are the fussiest eaters going and they didn't go hungry. If dinner is not to their liking, which was quite often the case they would fill up on spaghetti, pizza, burgers, chips, salad, doner kebabs at the pool bar. Ice cream was served but only for half an hour a day 4.30-5.00p.m. that was very disappointing. The drinks are a good selection. Avoid the canteen coffee if you can, the machines at the pool and in the lobby do a much better coffee. Forget tea unless you like it really strong.
The view from the room is stunning and to sit and eat on the balcony in the dining area and watch the sun go down is just beautiful. We found some of the reception staff quite unhelpful when I lost my tour ticket (just got a shrug of the shoulders, bothered!) However, after insisting I use the lobby phone and not my room got it sorted much to her disgust! I found that quite hilarious. Beware of the photo guy, he charges about £80.00 for a set of his photos and gets some bizarre poses out of people, check his board out.
I suggest you explore the hotel once you have been allocated your room. It's huge! You will be picky about things here and there, ie. a bit shabby, pool a bit small, not a lot of entertainment, do with a bit of a scrub here and there.
We would definitely go back there again as it was the most chilled out and relaxed holiday that I have ever had. It is a fantastic base to explore Ephesus and the Temple of Artemis, Highly recommend Ephesus, Temple of Artemis turned out to be a ditch with water, a load of broken pillars and one remaining intact. Wonder why it's a seventh wonder! But still, its history and I love it.
I recommend Yelcin as a waiter, what a lovely young man. Even reserved a table for us on our last night when it was really busy with the new intakes.
This is not a place for raver's, people with young children or those that have difficulty walking. If you are looking for an attractive setting, Turkish food, a good Tourist base, sauna's, massage, private cove, hammocks in the garden, a giggle at the entertainment (10p.m.-11p.m.), watching a Turkish wedding (one held when there, beautiful), sunset at dinner on the balcony, stunning views, lively town, cheap shopping then go! I paid £300 for a week all inclusive so didn't expect the Ritz, got what I paid for and more I reckon. It was no way five star, but we had a fantastic chilled out time. Daughter was happy swimming, internet, beach, bit of entertainment, food and also met some lovely English people (not many there, but that's not always a bad thing).
One warning beware of ear infections they are rife in Turkey, not just in this hotel. We did not suffer and neither did another family. But 5 children from 2 families did! If you are prone, wear ear plugs. Also BODRUM AIRPORT IS A RIP OFF, £10 FOR HOTDOG CHIPS AND COKE, £5.50 FOR A BEER, £5.40 for two coffees, not to sad, but coffee is mank! So make sure you have some money left and also some oxygen. Very smoky. Has smoking area downstairs, so you go upstairs to cafe and they also smoke there. As there is only two rooms, upstairs and downstairs, hard to get away from the smoke.

Submitted By: Mr P GrantMini bar not stocked up as stated in the details we were given, air conditioning non existent etc etc. I would say however that we were luckier with our room which was reasonable although having said that, not really up to 5 star and of course still the air conditioning problem and no mini bar.
The companies using this hotel should really give people a much better idea of what they are going to, as we had the offer of a 4 star when booking which could well have been much better but we chose to pay another £150.00 to go to the Adakule because of it being a 5 star. Ever been had!!
" Holiday from 6th Aug to 20th Aug... "
Submitted By: VictoriaAir con did not work if did was warm air blowing out.... Bathrooms had mould around the bath & sink. Rooms were big but some of the rooms were shabby.
Swimming pool was a joke for the amount of people in the holiday.
Mini Club, what mini club just a fenced off area with a slide & few toys for toddlers. Nothing for my 5 year old. And it was not safe to leave any child there.... Management of the hotel was no help in trying to sort our complaints that we had with the hotel, Just interested in taking your money.
The beach had a few problems with sewage from the hotel & paints being emptied into the sea from the hotel. Was not a happy site to see....You don't get what you see on the internet, the dining area is not the same as the photo's on the internet... So you are mislead in what you’re reading & paying for....
This holiday was booked for my Birthday my Aunt's plus my parents 25th Anniversary, was not a 5star hotel in any way... This holiday was not cheap so feel we was robbed. This Hotel needs closing down it's so dated...
I would not recommend this hotel to anyone, Avoid it don't lose out like we did. Looks good from the main entrance but that's it, looks like a prison from the sea view.
We have photo's of this hotel & have put in a complaint about our stay here. We have been going to Turkey for many years now, this was the hotel from hell... Hope this review helps anyone in thinking of staying there DON'T.

First impressions of the Hotel was WOW, i loved it. me my husband and my 1 year old daughter stayed in the Annex Block room 7409 on the 3rd Floor and the room was nice big and spacious with a touch of modern class it was a shame about the balcony view as there was a mountain in the way.
There ar 5 out door pools and 1 small indoor pool and 3 water slides, the food was beautyful, tasty and the staff were soo lovely and welcoming, there is a small private beach with 3 private shafts over looking the sea, just soo beautyful.
The luggage boy was funny as he was hanging around for a tip and i just totally forgot... make sure you check oout the dolpin park, it was good.
This hotel is excellent for disable people and parent with buggies, they do meet the requirements. all in all i have nothing bad to say abot the hotel, just that when ur done and ready to check out dnt forget your towel cards cause they will charge you 10 turkish liras for them.
Advice: its a beautyful city, when you go into town make sure you haggel cause they will rip you off.
Activities: the beach view was lovely when the sun was going down
Good for: Beach
