Just got back from rhodes where we we're stopping at the rodos sun hotel. We both thoroughly enjoyed our holiday and highly recommend the rodos sun, george and nik who run the hotel are both really friendly and very helpful. The hotel was nice and quiet, clean and is situated in good location. We would definitely stay there again!

After reading the reviews on this site, I was confident that we had made the right choice of apartments. The hotel was above and beyond my expectations. The family who run the hotel are lovely and will do anything to help make your holiday more enjoyable. Gorge the owner can recommend some lovely places to visit and eat and his son Nick can recommend some good nights out.
The room itself was simple but clean and spacious. The linen was changed regularly. The pool bar offers some cheap drinks and light snacks throughout the day.
Falaraki town its self has a lot to offer guest of all ages, from bars and clubs to tours around the islands and boat trips. The beach is also lush with lots of places to eat close by.

First the positives, yes it`s very clean, tidy, spacious, only a few minutes walk to the beach etc.... They are friendly when you first arrive. Pool is ideal, plenty of sun loungers all in all ok.
Faliraki is lively, plenty of bars and restaraunts, small fairground for the kids, did`nt see any trouble, no realy bad behaviour, very hot, nice place.
Now the negatives, staff on flight out were`nt as good/nice as on the way home, seemed more interested in messin about and having a laugh than doing their job, i asked for a bottle of water as my wife had to take timed meds on arrival at Rhodes, 20 mins later and with the seat belt sign on the steward walked past and looked at me and said "oh sorry i totally forgot about you" and then went to get it. On the way home they were much better.
The apartments are very very basic, 2x electric rings, fridge, sink, cupboard, plates, bowls etc... NO toaster/grill/kettle/microwave (the whole idea of self catering is to mostly do your own food) this meant all you could realy do was rolls/sandwiches/soup, no bacon sarnie/toastie/beans on toast etc.. these are the little snacks that get you through the day before you go out for a meal and a beer in the night.
Now you can go downstairs to the bar/reception and buy all of this there, ham & cheese toastie/full english brekky etc... but as the Pound is so crap against the Euro at the mo it works out bloody expensive, and this is what most of the people staying there did, now a few of us went to the local mini markets to buy bits/beers etc... to have in the room and so we noticed that as the week went on and we werent spending at the bar (0.75 for Mythos @ mini market, 2.50 @ bar) we were talked to less and by the end of the week totally ignored so if you dont buy your food and drinks from the bar you`ve been warned. (by the way you even have to supply your own toilet roll after the one they give you runs out! tight or what?)
So if you`ve got plenty of money and you are too lazy to even make toast in the morning then this place is for you, you`ll love it (the food is good) but if you realy want self catering and you are on a bit of a budget i`d give it a miss.
We are 36yrs & 42yrs, well traveled, been from All Inc in Bulgaria down to this place so weve done a good mix.

My friend and I chose the Rodos Sun...

My friend and I chose the Rodos Sun after reading the fantastic reviews online. It lived up to those reviews. We had a fantastic holiday. The family that run the hotel were lovely and knew us by first name after the first couple of days. They were really helpful - much better than our rubbish rep from First choice! The hotel is small which means that you aren't left scrabbling for a sunbed by the pool as there is always plenty of room! One point - as it is self catering they only provide you with one toilet roll but you can buy more at the local shops cheaply! The staff laid on this BBQ for all the guests on the Monday eve and it was great, yummy food complete with games and then a trip to a Karaoke bar - do it! You really get to know other people staying in the hotel! As for the resort - the beach was only a ten minute walk and near the harbour. I would recommend booking a boat trip from the harbour - much cheaper and nicer than your travel agents will be! We went on the 'marcos polo' boat, visting bays, snorkeling and had a BBQ which was the best day out. We weren't too close to all the nightlife, about 15/20 min walk to town centre which really suited us as we weren't up for clubbing every night! I was a bit worried that Faliraki would be really trashy, but the Rodos Sun is set away from the large complexes and we had a really lovely holiday, best of both worlds. I would consider returning, but would book the holiday direct with the hotel and not bother with the rubbish travel agents!

Just returned from a girlie holiday...

Just returned from a girlie holiday in Rodos Sun. 5 girls aged 19. And we absolutely loved it.
Rodos Sun is a lovely hotel, very clean, but Kitchen is very basic - 2 rings, fridge, sink, cutlery and plate each, a few saucepans. So to heat water you needed to use saucepan. No oven either.
Location is good, about a 15 min walk to bar/club street. There is two ways to go, down the main roads or across a dirt track. Both about same distance.
rooms were cleaned twice in our 10 day stay. Wasnt a problem but the towels did get a bit dirty.
Staff are lovely, you must attend the BBQ on monday nights, we won 92 euros on the card bingo!
Faliraki itself is absolutely gorgeous, as it is known as a 18-30 and twentys hot spot i expected it to be a bit 'chavvy' admittedly there was a few larger louts out at night. But the bar street and club street were great, no sick or mess on the streets. The beach is absolutely gorgeous. One of the nicest beachs ive been too. Toilets were also always stocked with toilet paper in the toilets next to Acropolis bar.
Highly recommended town and hotel. Will definitely visit again.

Jul 2008, Miss HL Lavell

Me and my boyfriend have just returned from our 2 week holiday at the Rodos Sun! I was very happy with the hotel George and Nick the owners were so friendly and were always there 24/7 if we needed anything! The pool was a lot bigger than it looks on the pictures and always very clean. The rooms are very spacious and you have to pay 35 euro a week for the air conditioning which we didn’t mind as it was 45 degrees! There were a few disadvantages like the room only gets cleaned every 3 days which when you have to put the toilet paper in the bin is not acceptable you also have to keep the same towels for 3 days but as there was only 2 of is this didn’t effect us too much, also you do not get given toilet paper unless you ask for it! Other than that we had a brilliant time and we would definitely go back there and recommend it to anyone i have never met such nice people!

My partner and i just arrived back from staying at the rodos sun, and enjoyed every minute. We took our two teenage daughters they absolutely loved it. The rodos sun is spotlessley clean and the owners can not do enough for you. They have alot of respect for there clients and do not tolerate any noise late at night. good location, if any of you know faliraki it is positioned behind the evi hotel, ten mins walk to the beach, and if you walk to the far end of the beach by the harbour it is much quieter, there is a small taverna called christos, call in there the people are great and really look after you. Nick and george at the rodos sun were really friendly gave us lots of info and made us feel at home. I cried when i left im definately going back we had a brill time. thank nick and george see you next year. mick and rache and the girls

the very best place we ever stayed. the nicest and friendliest people you could ever meet.George Nick Stella @ Mitch make you feel just at home. the rooms are the cleanest we have ever seen and with balconies over looking the pool a lovely view at nights when all the lights are on. a short walk to the shops and the beach make it an ideal position to be. just out of the town center and all the noise it makes for a very relaxing holiday.

I've got nothing but good memories of the Rodos Sun Hotels. Its a well run family apartment/studios which catered to "ALL" our domestic needs. Close enough to the supermarkets, bars and the beach.
The atmosphere at Rodos was very relaxing and friendly. Whether you're up for a dip in the pool or sitting at the bar. I missed the famous bbq which was a shame but overall a great place to stay because you've got genuinely good people looking after you.
Thanks Nic and family. Would definitely go back to Rodos Sun when in Faliraki.

Absolutely brilliant! I and my friend went; we were both 18 so looking for a really busy holiday! Everyone there was fab; the staff did anything they could to help you!
We had our air-con on heating for 3days, until George came to the rescue!
Definitely going back next year, just the kind of place we were looking for; basic accommodation and close to the nightlife! Would recommend to anyone.

Thought staying in the apartments was great, they were clean, not too far from the shops or the night life. It was clean and all your staff were polite to everyone.
The bbq night was the best and all the other nights. Wish I was still there with you all but coming back next year can’t wait.
