stunning!
I have just come back from this resort, and I must say how stunning it was! The hotel is very clean, is in a good location and has stunning views. The one downside was having to get up at 7.30am each morning in order to put our towels down! This is not the hotels fault, it all the Germans who get in there at the crack of dawn!! If the towels are put on too early, they get sprayed with water, as the beds get cleaned each morning. There are shops close by, bars about 5 minutes walk, one club about 10 mins walk and the other about 25mins. But there is so much to look at, we didn't mind walking. The food/drink is very cheap too. One downside of the bars is having to pay to use the toilets, and to be honest, they were disgusting!! It is only 0.50 lev which works out to be 18p so not too bad, but they could be cleaner!! I would love to go back there again. I would DEFINATELY recommend a sea view. All in all, a great holiday....and oh so hot (36 degrees) but the pool was lovely to cool down in. xXx
just some things they need to review
we have just returned from staying at this hotel we were supposed to stay there two years ago but it wasnot completed in time so we were keen to try it this year the place is fantastic rooms were spotless chaimbermaids really helpfull especailly margarita on the 8 floor only complaints were lifts not able to get a sunbed by the pool not enough for the size of the place we went out one morning there was no sun it was cold not one person by the pool but every sun lounger had been reserved with a towel and there was notices saying every guest has the right to find a sunbed any towels will be removed but nothingwas done about it also having stayed 3 times in differerant hotels we were shocked to get no free drinks with our evening meal we even had to pay for water this was no mentioned at the welcome meeting also food aimed at the german market once some of these issues have been adressed the hotel will be first rate
FANTASTIC!!
What a fabulous hotel! All the staff were VERY friendly. The food in the restaurant was lovely and Peter, our designated wine waiter was 2nd to none! The rooms were kept spotlessly clean as was the rest of the hotel. The Black Sea, although a little seaweedy on the odd day is lovely and warm and the gently shelving beach made it lovely and safe for all to play in the waves! The Bulgarian people, in general, are very friendly and we would definitely consider this hotel again next year. WARNING! DO NOT change money in the street as we were robbed of £100 by a guy on the front outside a bureau de change near the Palace Hotel.
Excellent Majestic
We stayed 1 week at Hotel Majestic in Sunny Beach in June. This is the place to go to relax for a week, with main purpose children, family, beachlife and a nice dinner in the evening. The hotel were excellent, with friendly staff, really good roomsercvice. We were also really amazed that it was so clean everywhere, int the rooms, pool-area, bars etc. The breakfast buffet was above average, the dinner buffet was good but one night was enough, more exiting food in the restaurants nearby. Enjoy Hotel Majestic, I'm sure we'll come back!
Loved This Hotel
Have just returned after spending 2 fantastic weeks in this hotel. All staff very polite and friendly, rooms cleaned spotlessly everyday,2 fantastic swimming pools ideal for kids with lifeguard supervision at all times.Very much liked that they do not allow people to leave towels on sunbeds and then disapear, staff actually remove them if you require a bed! Brilliant!!!!!!!.You could maybe be critical of the food, but on average there was always a good choice for all the different tastes of people.Lifts could also be hit & miss but this only added to the fun of staying at this hotel.
Great Hotel
My boyfriend and I stayed in the Majestic Hotel on the 18th June for 1 week, we really enjoyed our stay. The hotel was always very clean and most of the staff were always there for assistance. Reception staff were sometimes ignorant & Lazy. Rooms got cleaned daily and if you wanted a rest when the room cleaning staff came they would leave you to it and come back later. There was Plenty of areas to sit down and relax inside the hotel and the restaurant food was lovely. Dinner buffet hadnt got a large variety of foods but had a large range of fish dishes to choose from. Food was mainly Pizza, Chips, Pasta and sometimes Potato. The pool area was tidy but slightly over crowded with sun loungers.
Absolutely Fantastic
Just returned from a week at the Majestic yesterday. Cannot fault the place. Went in a party with 2 others, no kids. Hotel out of this world, no faults at all. Room was large, had 3 beds in and still room to move about. Bathroom very clean and extremely large, we had end room on 7th floor. All staff excellent, cleaning was excellent too. Pools are to die for, we got beds for 3 at 8.30 every morning, except for 2 days on beach which was also lovely. For a deposit of 20 Lev, you get clean beach towels daily too, very large ones so save on the kilos when packing there. Pools large and warm, plenty of brollies for those really hot times. Beach great, you need to get cards from reception then get 50% off beds and brollies on beach too. Sea very gentle and can go in quite a way before it gets deep, and very calm. We had self catering, lovely to have fridge in room for those cold drinks etc. Plenty of restaurants into town with so much choice of lovely food it was unreal. Extremely cheap too, eat out and drank every day and spent just over £100 each, not bad eh !! Would recommend to anybody. Im already booking for same hotel next year. You wont regret it.
A very pleasant and enjoyable stay
Arrived at The Majestic on 1st June with a small amount of trepidation having read some of the reviews on here, but my reservations proved to be unfounded. My 6 year old daughter and I chose this for the lone family discount and opted for the self catering option so that we weren't tied by the breakfast and dinner sittings and could please ourselves. Our apartment was in Block 3 and very easily accessible from the main part of the hotel and contrary to popular belief not once did we encounter a problem with the lifts! The apartment itself was lovely, spacious, immaculate and with all the basics you could need apart from a kettle so if you're religious about your morning cuppa then might be an idea to pack a travel one..........and ladies if you're quite hot on having your hair just so then take your own dryer, although both mine and my straighteners barely got used! The in room TV proved sufficient entertainment for the rare times we used it. My daughter enjoyed MTV when we were getting ready and also Animal Planet and Discovery. For after hours I was quite shocked.........lol...........and surprised to stumble across an adult channel too! We rarely ventured down to the beach due to the pool being too lovely. There are two main ones and a small paddle pool for the tiny ones. All are immaculate and well maintained. My only minor grumble would be that possibly the pools aren't quite big enough for the size of the hotel. Full capacity is 2000 at the Majestic. During the week we were there capacity was at 1400, and that was right at the start of the season and although we always managed to secure sunbeds I could see that this could prove to be a big problem in the coming weeks. To be fair the hotel have covered every spare bit of pool area with beds it's just that the space isn't enough for the size of The Majestic. Eating out was really cheap and thankfully neither myself or my daughter suffered with an upset tum. As a rough guide we were eating out for 26 leva a night which at an approximate rate of 3 leva to the £ works out at about £10....fantastic. We were picking up fresh fruit in the mornings for £1........melon, strabs, cherries etc and pancakes or jacket potato for lunch for £3 for 2. There is an abundance of stalls and markets along the stretch of Sunny Beach selling all manner of clothes, handbags, belts etc. I personally didn't get drawn into buying any fake designer goods but to be fair there were some good copies if you looked hard enough. Back to the hotel...........our room was made every day and replenished with fresh towels and wherever you looked there were always staff cleaning, polishing and sweeping. The animation team provided entertainment during the day and in the evenings and you couldn't fault them either on enthusiasm if that's your thing! Word to the wise.............the bar down by the pools serves cocktails at half price (£1.70) from 4.30pm on whereas the hotel bar sells them for 8 leva (£3.00). Also bottled water, crisps, ice creams etc are half the hotel price if you buy them from the supermarket in the hotel opposite the front of The Majestic. All in all we had a fabulous time and came back very tanned, very relaxed and fully recharged and I do think I'd actually consider going back! Hope this helps.
Loved it!
Sorry Im a bit late in writing my review - stayed from 25th June 2006 for 2 weeks. Overall, our holiday was excellent, loved the large reception area, and massive pool area, although after our first couple of days (probably once schools closed for summer) we struggled to get sunbeds in the morning. Entertainment by the pool area was excellent - especially if you've got kids, or husbands/partners who act like kids! Only down side was that if you looked up as the entertainers were walking past, they came over to get you to join in, or dragged you up! If you don't want to be involved in the activities, just pretend to be asleep when they walk by! Had breakfast most days (didn't struggle for a table - we always went down about 30mins before closing), and quite often got a table outside in the shade. Had dinner every evening - found there was a good choice, however, sometimes when we went down - at about 9pm when dinner finishes at 9.30 - they had run out of some dishes. I would definately stay here again - however I think we would try self catering, as there were plenty of restaurants further down in the centre of Sunny Beach. Rooms were a good size and clean, can't remember how often towels and bed linen were changed, but I take it it was regular, as we didn't complain, and I normally would! Had a fridge in the room also, which was excellent, as we could buy our own food and drink from one of the supermarkets nearby and bring back up to our room. During our stay we had bad weather for a couple of days, there were floods out the front of the hotel and out the back! Were were stuck in for a while (you could have walked out but you'd get flithy in the flood) and the electricity went off for a couple of hours, but we all gathered in reception, and the entertainment team set up lots of activities and board games for us to get involved in. As all of the flights back to the UK were night flights last year, we could not book our room for the additional day, we had to queue on the day of check out to book a half hour slot to use the courtesy room. This half hour slot could not be booked the day before, therefore, we got up at 6 in the morning and went down and queued for about an hour before they started taking bookings. Managed to get the slot we wanted which was good, so worth the waiting.
Great
Check in was a little slow, our flight was delayed and we arrived after 2 in the morning extremly tired - they did how ever offer food in the restaurant which was a nice gesture, even though we where too tired to eat, our room was on the fourth floor, over looking the front entrance. The sea views on the other side of the hotel from the rooms where amazing. The hotel room was big enough, plenty of storage, and very clean. But was a little nosy at night, we where woken up a couple of times during the night from the noise from other guest outside out bedroom door.. We ate each night in the hotel, and also had breakfast, the food was perfect.. I would recommend it. The pool area was excellent for both children and adults. The holding of sun loungers from the night before was extremly annoying and a lot of people use the pool from outside the resort as its one of the biggest along sunny beach. Water and ice creams are extremly over priced at the resort which a downfall but to be expected. Over all we enjoyed our stay in the Majestic hotel.
