Majestic hotel is amazing. Cleaners...

Majestic hotel is amazing. Cleaners working nonstop to keep hotel spotless. Sea view is def recommended!
We went self catering which I would recommend for 2 reasons. 1st we met couple who did half board and they said food was nice but nothing special and had to get in early.
2nd eating out really cheap, 2 adults 2 kids can get main courses deserts couple drinks each for about £30 (that includes a t-bone steak as 1 of mains and big portions!).
Drink in hotel quite cheap about £1.60 a pint (local stuff which I recommend!) even cheaper out of hotel some places £1 a pint. Cocktails at night always on happy hour buy 1 get 1 free or 50% off.
Loads of shops selling dodgy looking "designer" gear but loads selling worthwhile souvenirs and gifts.
Lots to do on beach which is right next to hotel. Would def recommend jet skis about £20 for 15 mins.
Only downside is if you want a decent pool bed you need to be down early. Lots of Germans who are down early and reserve all beds with towels something not meant to do but pool attendants do nothing about it.
We were getting down about 7.30am and there were already about 20 towels out but loads of beds so as long as down by 10am should get a bed, any later and will be pushing it.
Weather gorgeous couple of days a little bit cloudy but was still hot!
If going don't change money at hotel, rubbish exchange rate. Use Company called Crown. Reps recommend them they have loads of booths all along sea front. Don’t use any other they advertise good rates but don’t pay those rates and once money handed over nothing you can do. Hotel was giving us 240lv for a £100 traveller’s chq, Crown gave us 276lv for a £100 chq which works out about £13 more for every £100 which soon adds up.
Whilst eating out would def recommend restaurant called chilli peppers. Is a Wild West restaurant that do brilliant food and have dancers on every night at 9pm and 10 pm, great entertainment for all familt
Going back next year can’t wait!!

The location and visual appearance of...

Jun 2007, Mr R Morrissey

The location and visual appearance of the Majestic Hotel is absolutely stunning, with fabulous views of the beach.
The facilities and friendliness of the staff were first class, and the cleanliness of the whole hotel was unbelievable.
We found the food very good for the price paid with enough variety to make sure we didn't have to eat the same dish twice. Also found the restaurants in the town very cheap so ate out just as much, without making it an expensive break.
All in all we enjoyed our week immensely, providing a relaxed atmosphere, superb beach and pool area and enough evening entertainment to forget about the stressful world of the UK.
Would certainly recommend to anyone.

Jun 2007, Mr T Simmons

The Majestic hotel is absolutely stunning, especially at night. The rooms were comfortable, very well equipped & spotlessly clean.
In fact the whole hotel is clinically clean. There is a team of cleaners who seem to be doing every inch of the place 24/7! It truly was a lovely place to stay, & the staff were friendly & efficient at all times.
The pools were equally impressive, with life guards & sun beds for all. For the place & the location, I would give 10/10 rating.
The only very small downside was the restaurant. It was once again very clean, all food was well presented etc, but unless you made sure that you were amongst the first down in the mornings, it was a little like a rugby scrum to try to get anything worth eating.
Also, the food was a little bit the same each day, & the cuisine was aimed more towards the Germans & Scandinavians than towards the British guests.
All in all, we had an excellent holiday here. There wasn't too much in the way of Cultural experience to be had, but if you want a packaged tourism break, you couldn't get much better than coming here. We'll definitely be going back to Majestic.

Oct 2006, Mrs June & Tom McKay

Just arrived home 8th Oct from Sunny Beach after 2 weeks. We really could not fault this hotel, beautiful entrance, beautiful walk up from the beach especially at night. Lovely rooms, spacious, light and very clean, the cleanest we have ever stayed in. The cleaners seem to be working 24 hrs a day. Our rooms were done every day, clean towels and clean bedding every other day.
The food was in abundance and even if you are not German we always found plenty that we liked - their soups especially are really tasty - I can only say to those who complain about the food, you must be really fussy and you are in Bulgaria by the way! There is however a MacDonald’s on the main drag for those less imaginative people!
As for the lifts, yeah they did have a mind of their own sometimes, stopping at floors and nobody there, but they were certainly not dangerous. The Spa and health club in the hotel is rather expensive on comparison, I would recommend having a massage from the Massage Boss on the beach, for 30 minutes at 20 Lev (£8) you will get the best back, shoulder, neck massage ever.
All in all I would definitely recommend this hotel and it is away from the constant noise in the centre.

Just come back from sunny beach and I...
6 / 10
Sep 2006, Miss L Healy

Just come back from sunny beach and I must say it is the worst holiday I have had up to yet. Luckily this hotel was nice. I couldn't believe upon entering the apartment that we didn't have a mirror in the bedroom, only in the bathroom (that is no good).
Everything else was fine. Majestic looked really glamorous compared with most others. The food was always cold and the restaurants were terrible, steak houses everywhere and Kebab stalls. There is that much that I disliked about this holiday I can't write it all down. They charge you for the toilet which I wouldn't mind paying if the toilets were clean. In my opinion there are better countries to go to than this one.
The entertainment is no good even in the bars there were nobody in them. Also look out for the golf carts and biked that run you over. And beware, my dad lost £100 on the streets by the people who get you to change your money on the streets. He was given fake money. Only use Crown Exchange places.

Jun 2006, Miss A A

On arrival at the Majestic Hotel we were very impressed with how the hotel looked. We had been informed by our Thomson Rep that a meal had been laid on for us in the dining room as our flight had been delayed. This turned out to be left overs from the evening meal. A little bit of warm salad, a plate of onions, some bread and something else I couldn't even describe.
Once we had checked in we found our room and were very impressed, the rooms were spacious, had a small fridge and were exceptionally clean! At 3am it was a very welcome sight. Unfortunately other members of our party were not so lucky and tried several times to get into their room, only to find (after 2 hours of trying the key) that the room they had been given was occupied already! Luckily the guests were very understanding and didn't mind being woken up at 5am!
They were then allocated a room on the 11th floor, but continued to have problems with their keys and had to have them re-programmed everyday. Outside by the pool was very nice, there were more than enough sun loungers and there wasn't too much of a fight to get a good spot in the sun. There were activities by the "Animation Team" every day by the pool, but not a lot was happening at night. Food was OK, it caters more for the Germans and Swedes rather than English, but it was OK.
A little more fresh fruit would have been nice, but you can buy that in the streets for practically nothing! We were very unlucky with the weather and found that there wasn't much to do at the hotel when it was raining, although, I have been informed that the indoor gym is now open - that would have been very welcome having had 3 days of rain and storms! We had a lot of trouble with the lifts, they dropped a couple of times when people were getting out and you wouldn't always end up on the floor that you intended.
All in all, a nicely set out hotel, which is exceptionally clean, but needs to work on its food, entertainment and Customer Service!

May 2006, Calamity Jane

On Arrival there was a weird smell in the hotel but we soon realised it was plaster as the hotel was just being finished off, in fact it was being painted whilst we were there. However this did not interfere with our stay one bit.
The hotel was very clean and modern. We were half board and the food was an added bonus. It was a buffet style breakfast and tea, which an excellent choice. The fried eggs were the best I had ever had! The only down fall was you were allocated a sitting of either 6.00-7.30 or 8.00 -9.30 and couldn’t change.
The room was lovely, no tea making facilities but a TV with a few English channels, a balcony and a complimentary bottle of sparkling wine on arrival. The hairdryer was like what you get at the swimming baths, so I suggest ladies take their own.
The animation team provide "entertainment" by day this consists of darts, aerobics etc. On the evening there is entertainment 9.30pm-10.30 consisting of either a quiz, bingo, singing and dancing or comedy sketches. Its ok and probably ideal for families staying at the hotel.
Overall it was good value for money and the hotel contributed to an enjoyable holiday.
