Comments:  We stayed at the Magnific hotel for 1 week and would have loved to have stayed longer.
The rooms are basic but were cleaned every day we were there.
All the hotel staff were amazing they couldn't do enough for you.
The music was turned down at a certain time every night so people could sleep if they wanted.
Tekin, Billen, Ismail, Sunshine, Eyup and Nedmin were some of the staff that we got to know the most and they were brilliant.
The pool is deep but your right on the beach so wasnt too bad.
Overall an excellant holiday and will be going back next year for 2 weeks.
Can suit any age group depending what you make of it.
Entertainment in the hotel was different every night so you don't have to leave the hotel.
Paddys pub across the road from the hotel is a must for the craic and show all your GAA matches.

Comments:  I most certainly would never recommend the Hotel Magnific to anybody. Our first couple of days were spent in the Reception area, being ignored by the front desk staff & the Manager alike.
Our room was VERY dirty on arrival. We had no sheets & the towels were soiled. There was also a terrible smell in our room.
As we were there for two weeks, we decided to upgrade our room, at an additional cost of €400.
The difference was unbelievable! We went from a room that was very grotty to a boutique sytle hotel room! It was cleaned every day & we were given fresh towels on a daily basis.

It is a shame the Hotel Magnific chooses to differenciate between paying guests in both sides of the Hotel. The Managment also need to become more aware of good Customer Services & the difference it can make to a Holiday. It's location is ideal but unfortunately I shall not be returning.

Comments:  The Hotel runs with the tag line "Check in, and Chill Out", and that is exactly what we were able to do from start to finish.

This was a well earned holiday and all of the staff in the Hotel, the bar and the restaurants made this possible for me and my group.

The beach is on the door step and the hotel provides free comfy 'beds' on the beach with free umbrellas too. This was toped of with some wonderful music playing out from the bar, during the day time some great classic chill out, that is until 17.00, Happy hour when the bar wakes up, as does the music.

The staff are wonderful and nothing is too much trouble. Staff go out of their way to ensure you are well looked after from the managers to the grounds staff!

The two restaurants in the hotel host a menu which incorporates something for all tastes - and their traditional Turkish fare is second to none.

The entertainment is basic - but it is what you make of it, and the staff really help to get you all involved.

We were in the refurbished part of the Hotel and I would fully recommend paying that bit extra to stay in that part as the other rooms are less well designed, and a bit dark.

All in all - 10/10!

Comments:  Oh wow what can i say i'm only back from holidays from staying in magnific and can not wait to go back in July! I can't believe some of the comments left on this! Magnific is a brilliant hotel From the staff to the food to the cleaners.

Your room is cleaned everyday from top to bottom, all the staff knew english (bonus) the waiters were lovely on the beach at the bar and in the restaurant. the food is fantastic at the bar. Everything is verywell cleaned in the whole hotel, staff is very trustworthy and welcoming i would definality give this hotel an overall rating of 10/10.

If you are in Gumbet i would strongly advise to go and find Planet Yucca it is an amazing restaurant from the food to the staff to the hygien of the place.

I would definality reccomend this hotel to anybody and would give it 10/10 can't wait to go back love gumbet.

Comments:  My wife and I stayed at Hotel Magnific in October last year, loved the hotel. Going again in May 2008.
Always found the staff really helpful and very pleasant, even the Manager.
People forget that they are not always fully conversant with our way of life and language.
The breakfast was more than adequate - cereals, eggs, toast etc. There was plenty of choice and you always found something to eat.
We ate in the outdoor restaurant at night and the meals were excellant.
The pool was spotless which is very important.
The rooms were regularly cleaned and towels changed daily.
There were plenty of places to sit or lounge around - what more do you want?
We loved Hotel Magnific.

Comments:  We are two dudettes aged 19 and we went to Turkey on the 29th September 2007, so here is our experience of Turkey and the MAGNIFIC HOTEL.

Firstly when you eventually arrive at the hotel, you have to hang around waiting to fill a form in, think an entrance form or something and when you've been on a long flight in the middle of the night, you don't need this hassle!!

So now about the accomodation, well VERY basic to say the least!! very dated interior & furniture, the beds not very comfortable! was okay once you was drunk haha.
The worst thing about the room was the SHOWER, it was all rusted to start with and then had all flies stuck to the bottom eeeeew & you wasnt able to control the temp because was broken! Now considering unlike here you flush your paper down the toilet, I dont mind putting in a bin, if it gets emptied more than 3 times a week!!

& last but not least.... we got trapped in our room,as the handle fell off!! and we phoned reception four times and nobody came to rescue us! So we had to yell through our window at passer bys, which they didnt understand, they just laughed. So we had to be cut of the window to get out!! Good job there wasnt an emergency!

We decided to go half board, but regret it!! flies all over the food, not much choice! unless you want an olive for your breakfast! or how about a lump of cheese? flavoured water for soup at dinner we didnt bother with desserts! so we ended up having to eat out anyway, with our low funds!

Enough of the bad and in with the good.... staff at the hotel very pleasant and helpful, and we went out with a couple of the lads from the hotel on a night out, which was interesting.

So now for the vibe of Turkey, BRILLIANT! locals are belting and really took us under their wings! A lot of people think you get harrased, but dont be put off, just do it back it's funny! and if you say no you dont want, then thats that.
TOP TIP- Best shop is Turkish Primark!! deniz, mehmet, ali g nice guys!!

Nightlife is very good, loooooads of karaoke bars! x bar is the place to be !! good places to eat, make sure u haggle your price though!!

SO overall the holiday was excellent, we are returning this year in July, yeeeey but definately wont be visiting magnific hotel. So go to turkey but stay somewehere else!!

Comments:  I stayed at the hotel with my girl friend. We are young but we felt that this wasn't the hotel for us as a couple.

It’s one really for singles, 16-21 in age and seemed to attract these in a fair number. We would have preferred something a bit more laid back rather than the constant dance music banging out all day and night.

The up side of the hotel is that it is right on the sea front and in a good location within the village.

The Turkish men were a bit funny with my girl friend. One was very rude and said things like I should be knocking her in to place if she didn't listen to me and do what I said, and he was trying to get us into his restaurant! I guess that what it is like there.

We made the most of the holiday but would of rather of gone somewhere more easy going.

Comments:  Do not stay in the Hotel Magnific.

Do not be fooled by its beautiful surroundings we stayed there in Aug for two weeks and found the whole hotel to be an unwelcoming place from the owner/manager to the waiters on the beach.

The rooms were adequate but rarely cleaned - it was impossible to get served at the bar. The staff were horrible and constantly mixed drinks and served slops. The music is blasting out from 11am in the morning into the early hours of the next morning, you had to shout at each other to have a conversation.

The breakfast is lovely if you like flies with your food, never had dinner there.

This was our fifth consecutive holiday to Gumbet, never had any problems in our previous accommodation before with the owners. Just decided to stay near the beach for a change - O what a mistake, close it down it’s a disgrace.

Comments:  Loved Turkey and Gumbet, shame about the hotel.

Poor standard of hygiene, rooms were very badly cleaned each day and the beach beds and sand area did not seem to be properly cleaned.

The music on the beach during the day was unbearably loud and destroyed my holiday completely, there was no hope of relaxing what so ever, and I would not recommend the hotel to anyone under 18.

Breakfast was basic but adequate.

Comments:  Me and my fiancé are just back, from 2 weeks here. We would definately come back next week if we could lol, but next year will have to do.

Staff are friendly and the hotel is situated perfectly for the surrounding town. The beach is excellent and is literally your backyard when you stay here.

On a down note DO NOT take the water that is left in the room for you as it is warm and unrefrigerated and you will be charged over the odds for it so be careful!

Breakfast isn't good but thats just my taste, if you like typical continental it will suit you fine. Thats the only faults that we came across and still we would come back again and again as the hotel could not be better placed and the staff are more than helpful.

The area of Gumbet i would recommend to all and as it is a stones from Bodrum you have loads of things to do. I recommend the swimming with dolphins and Halicarnus nite club, also a boat trip is well worth the money and a good day out! Enjoy your stay at Gumbet and the Magnific!

Comments:  The Magnific was an excellently located hotel in the middle of the promenade right on the beach.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was very varied and prices were competitive. The shopping was good for bags and shoes a great variety and cheap prices. A trip to the market on the local dolmus is a hair raising experience as there doesn't seem to be any rules of the road. Barter well for any trips.

A boat trip with 5 stop over’s to include camel beach and rabbit beach etc was 15 euro and included a trip to the local Turkish baths with free taxi transfers. Gumbet is tourist friendly and caters for all age groups.

Comments:  We stayed at the Magnific Hotel in Gumbet for 1 week last July, we are going again this July (2007) and have booked to go for 2 weeks this time.

The hotel was nice, staff friendly and helpful. The pool is lovely, right on the beach. Lots of things to do, boat trips (which are cheaper if you arrange yourself on the beach, rather than through your tour operator), Turkish baths etc.

Very short walk to all of the shops and bars. You couldn't ask for more.

4 of us went last year (all aged 21-25), there are so many places you can eat out and it's quite cheap so only had bed and breakfast. Although did also eat snacks at the hotel and the food was great there.

We love Gumbet and can't wait to go back there. Now I have been to Turkey we wouldn't think of going to Spain for our holiday again.

Would recommend this hotel to anyone, however there are lots of nice hotels about the Ayaz is also a nice hotel, which is very close and also on the beach front.

The Turkish people are very friendly and will do anything to help you. Yes they do try to get you to go into every shop! But after a while you get used to it, doesn't really bother me too much, just need to be polite and say no thanks.

Can't wait to go there again this July!

Comments:  This was a great holiday and we would definitely recommend it for young people. Does any one know the names of the songs the Magnific bar men put on their CD? We are dying to remember the names of the tunes and play them in rainy England and remember the happy hour!

Excellent pool and excellent location for Bar street and the beach. Eating out was great with free wine at most places and normally about £5 a head.

Dying to go back!
