Les Hauts Bois Apartments Reviews
" Very well run apartments with all the... "
Submitted By: Mrs M Archibald
Very well run apartments with all the facilities to ease any skiing holiday. Own lockers for skis, boots etc. Locker room located for easy ski out and in to the apartments. Lifts to all areas in the apartments.
The apartments themselves were a good size. The kitchen area was well equipped and the beds were comfortable.
Good facilities in respect of the saunas, steam rooms and swimming pool.
The reception was well run and in particular Julien (French man on reception) was always there to give the extra 10%. Nothing was too much trouble for him and he was one of the best 'Receptionists' we as a family had ever come across. He did everything in a professional manner and was always courteous. We would give him 10 out of 10.
We would certainly stay there again and look for other places under the MGM sign.

Accommodation: For 5 of the 6 years we have booked MGM apartments which are incredibly good value and the best accommodation we have stayed in while on ski holidays.
Beautifully decorated in Alpine Style, they are incredibly clean and much more spacious than your average ski accommodation. They also all have 'spa' facilities with pool (be aware they are heated to French standards - pretty nippy in comparison with British heated pools) and saunas/steam rooms. You generally get a voucher to use once and then pay local rates - not too bad.
The last one we stayed at, les Hauts Bois, proved just as good as previous MGM accommodation we have used. Right on the Piste - a short run down a blue from the ski lockers to the lift then from there very easy to get across the whole La Plagne area.
Also easy to get to supermarket in resort to buy provisions and very good cooking facilities at the apartments.
Ski Terrain: LOTS for all ages and abilities and because it is the highest you can stay at this resort, and pretty high for the Alps in general, the snow was still excellent in April 2006 (1st-8th). Easy to get to different resorts within the area, all with good restaurants to stop for lunch, at regular Alpine prices so not cheap but generally affordable.
Aime 2000: Quite a small resort with few restaurants but good links, both ski and cable car for the evenings, to La Plagne. Not really a 'party' resort but good if you like eating out and generally the company of friends rather than clubbing/pubbing.
All staff at the accommodation were very friendly and helpful. We always try to speak French when we can but there was an English person working there and most of the French staff speaks good English.
It's actually nice when you find one that doesn't as it's a good opportunity to try out your French and do something to redeem the general view held of the English that we assume everyone should speak our language!
