super friendly hotel
from bookster
A great 2 weeks, staff were over friendly, rooms were more than adequate, clean, nice views....grounds were well kept with nice pool and good day time restaurants and bars. By night restaurant was good as buffets go, with specials most nights. 10 mins to Rhodes Town which is fantastic, or 10 mins the other way is the best waterpark ive been to. Beach was great too, though beware some sea creatures that appeared on shore occasionally. No complaints at all, which is rare for a holiday hotel. Would def recommend and prob will return if i go back to Rhodes
Great But Beware!

Fully agree with other reviews about the general standards of this hotel. However, we do not feel that it deserves a 5 star rating in ALL aspects. We were initially well pleased to be given an upgraded room -my wife and I had booked a standard sea view room but were given a superior sea view room with 4 beds and 2 balconies! However, a major downside was that the air conditioning was totally ineffective. It consisted of an antiquated dial system with only 2 "cold" settings of 5 or 10 degrees and the air coming out was nowhere near either of those temperatures. Coming from northern climes we know what 5 degrees feels like! During our week the outsided temperature was mid to high seventies with little change overnight and sleeping was difficult. We might as well have bought a fan for all the effect the air con was having! We did not raise this with the hotel as we assumed that it was the same throughout but shortly before we were due to go home we spoke to another couple who were in the main block overlooking the largest pool and they had no problems with their air con(We were in the next block down). Imagine our annoyance! In any event we doubt if anything would have been done as we were speaking to another couple at the welcome meeting who had paid for a sea view room only to find that they had a garden view. When they complained they were met with a shrug. Another "gripe" was the lack of evening entertainment. On most nights it was the animation team or nothing. Haviing heard them we opted for nothing! However, to be fair, the hotel could not be faulted on any of the other aspects, superb location, excellent facilities, a great choice of excellent food ,stunning sea views and (mostly) very friendly staff. We enjoyed our stay and had perfect weather - it would have been the perfect holiday apart from the above.
Nice hotel, shame about air conditioning
from diablouk
A massive hotel complex with stunning public areas, great food, great service and good atmosphere. Just a few small complaints really - the door to the bathroom would not open fully as the bath overhung the doorframe. Also dispite advertising air conditioning, the hotel advised me that this is not switched on until the middle of June. Considering the temperatures were unseasonably hot, this should be reviewed. Everyone in the party ended up bitten by mosquitos as the only way to get air into the rooms was to leave balcony door open or suffer sauna like conditions all night.
Friendly and easy going

Been lucky enough to visit this hotel on many occasions and have yet to find a major fault although I do miss the terrace bar. The staff are some of the friendliest people you will find and are quick to help in any situation. If you're lucky to be served at the main bar by keros Dimitri please say a hello from me. The rooms are basic and well kept. The food is fantastic and there is plenty of it. Breakfast is full of options and there is something for all tastes. The evening meals are just as good. If you're looking for somewhere to relax then the Paradise is laid back and full of home comforts. Will be back in 2007 and can't wait :)
Unforgettable Wedding Reception!
from A TripAdvisor Member
We held our wedding reception at the Paradise Royal Mare Hotel in late August 2005 and we're still thinking back to that perfect evening. The setting, the food and the service were unparalleled and far exceeded our expectations. We highly recommend this hotel for hosting special events. The festivities started with fireworks launched from a lighted sailboat anchored near the beach in front of the hotel. Elegant, white linen-covered tables and chairs were placed in a semi-circle facing one of the hotel's large swimming pools and the sea (and the stage where the fantastic hotel-recommended band was playing). Lights and ribbons had been strung over a romantic wooden bridge that crossed over the pool and we posed for many pictures there. The buffet was absolutely fantastic! There were almost 50 different dishes, including a huge assortment of Greek specialties like moussaka and spanakopita, a giant fountain of king prawns, various types of seafood, grilled meats, two carvery stations, chefs preparing food to order at the request of our guests, lovely desserts, and a delicious, three-tiered, blue wedding cake with chocolate mousse filling and edible decorations of starfish and shells (we had picked a nautical theme). Since we live in the United States, we made the arrangements primarily by email (and the occasional phone call) to the hotel's Food and Beverage Manager, Mr. Tsampikos Tarallis. He is a gem! Mr. Tarallis is a consummate professional who was responsive, courteous, helpful, and accommodating up until the very last minute. And he stayed until three o'clock in the morning to supervise the smooth running of the festivities. Words cannot express our appreciation and gratitude for the hard work of Mr. Tarallis and his staff. They helped make our wedding day truly unforgettable. In addition, many of our overseas guests stayed at the hotel and we were very happy to have the assistance of the hotel's Reservation Manager, Ms. Eleni Paspardani. She and her staff ably arranged our guests' accommodations and kept track of their fluctuating schedules. We hope to go back to Paradise Royal Mare Hotel in the near future.

Wonderfull quiet break
from hazlyn
We have just returned from 2 weeks at this lovely hotel. Our arrival was prompt and we were quickly allocated a very nice sea-view room (paid for in advance) The gardens are very nice, well established and well kept. We had come for the first time without children for a well earned restful break, which is exactly what we got. The staff, for the most part, were cheerful and helpfu. The pool in front of our annex (Karimos), was always quiet and peaceful. The beach isn't the best in the world but clean with ample lsun-beds etc. Lunch in the snack bar by the main pool always had plenty of choice at a reasonable cost. We soon found out that this time of the year is particularly popular with Italian clients and the food in the main restaurant reflected this. We understood there was to be an International menu each evening; there was as long as you enjoy pasta in all it's shapes and forms!! There were other choices but quite limited, we certainly didn't starve. The local shops provide all your needs at better prices than the Hotel mini-market. We made use of the bar opposite the Hotel, 'RENI' cafe bar, we always had a friendly reception, and if you like sport there is usually a good selection of football matches,UK and International, most evenings. Overall a good choice for a relaxing holiday. The taxi service from the reception is excellent, Rhodes town costing only 6 Euros either way as opposed to the bus 1.70 Euros, (but what an experience!!). We booked a trip to the Island of Symi, much cheaper by local agent, this was well worth the 90 minute ferry trip, or 45 minutes by hydrofoil.
Families will love it.

Recently returned from the Aldemare Royal Mare (24th August 2005). There were 7 in our party one teenager and one 11 year old. To their delight just outside their room was a freshwater pool. There are 7 pools on the site, the main being larger than I have ever seen (saltwater). The hotel was very clean and has all the facilities a family would want. Each block of rooms has their own pool. Its vast and you are right on the beach. The beach is very clean and the sea gorgeous to swim in, no seaweed anywhere to be seen. Loads of sunbeds, you have to pay a deposit of €15 for each poolside towel which is returned when you leave. I think the only downside to this large hotel is the entertainment, although the animation team did put on a very amateur outdoor show every night, there were no acts or local folklore shows of interest. The shows were all in Greek/Italian. This is the only time I think that I have ever been anywhere where the Brits were out numbered by the Italians or Eastern Europeans. Kids - there is everything you can wish for from a wonderful water slide, table tennis, floodlit tennis courts, lots of swimming pools, mini golf, football pitch (only small), the list is endless. I would recommend it to anybody with a family. I was just slightly disappointed with the food. Everybody kept well, no issues with cleanliness at all. We had a problem with noisy neighbours and were moved straight away to a suite. The noisy neighbours were two English lads!!!! In the evening you could stroll outside the hotel, there are bars and shops to peruse. All in all a good hotel, I've never been to Rhodes before - it was extremely hot but surprisingly very green. We went to Butterfly valley and to Lindos for days out and Rhodes town is not to be missed. If you like to shop or see a bit of the old ruins you will like Rhodes town. Taxi's are inexpensive and Rhodes town is 6K away.
lovely hotel, but terrible kids club and lack of english people
from A TripAdvisor Member
We stayed at the aldemar from the 10 aug to 24 aug. Our room was next to one of the small pools, which was fantastic and quiet. The main pool was packed! The food was lovely and always plenty of choice, although the children's buffet is not to standard, so our children ate off the main buffet which was not a problem. The hotel run kids club was terrible. they spoke little english and never smiled, our children (aged 6 and 4) were bored after 1 hour. The children's disco was good, but the evening entertainment was not brilliant. The hotel had very little english people so our children made no friends, but there was lots of Italians, russians etc!!! We would recommend the hotel to couples and families with younger children who do not want to use the kids club. P.s. would not let the children use the water slide on there own as it was a disaster waiting to happen. No life guard to control the amount of children going down and how quickly they went down.
Great and very nice hotel!

When we arrived at the hotel (surrounded by a lot of trees and flowers) we were impressed. Beautiful lobby, nice big pool, a lot of restaurants, a clean and big room, tennis court... Don't go there if you want to lose some weight. There is a great choice of all kinds of food. Every day you can choose something else to eat. The food was delicious!! There is also a separate place for the children to eat. There is also an animation team. So if you have children they can do some watergym, go on the waterslide.... The music is nevertheless everyday the same which bothered me a bit. This was until now the best hotel I have ever stayed and I recommend it to everyone!!
