" Airtours made a mistake and somehow... "
Submitted By: Mr S P Dale
Airtours made a mistake and somehow because half of our party flew in from Birmingham and half flew from Gatwick they had only arranged our self catering apartment for 2 people (ie half the party).
They were very good about this and upgraded the lucky second 2 of us to the Hermitage Hotel on a half board basis! We were very happy with the upgrade and thoroughly enjoyed staying at the Hermitage.
You can literally ski to the door of the hotel, stick your gear in their equipment room and go straight to the bar!
The room was very modern and clean (and cleaned to a high standard every day), had a balcony, WiFi and the meals were really excellent. We had 4 or 5 courses of excellent Italian food served to our tables every night. It's some of the best food I've eaten and it really made our holiday.
I only felt sorry for the other 2 in our group who were in the self catering! I would like to go back next year and I'm even thinking of going back in the summer to try out the walking/ mountain biking up there. I'd highly recommend the Hermitage Hotel.

" Four of us decided to book this hotel... "
Submitted By: Miss G Starr
Four of us decided to book this hotel because of its convenient location to the Clotes ski lift and the fact you can ski to your door. We also checked the few reviews we could find and everything looked ok.
I must say the location is truley the best thing about this hotel. My room was something from the 1980's, which I could cope with if it was clean. Mouldy ceiling and curtains and a urine stained toilet was not what I was expecting. The others in our party had a newly re-furbished room which indeed looked much better then my room, however, the cleaning standards were the same, need i say it, more mould. They were also fortunate enough to have a balcony, however, the room stank of cigarette smoke, so much so that they slept all night with the doors and windows open. The hotel was fully booked so they could not move rooms.
The evening meal was typical Italian Style which would have been nice if you could taste the sauce on the pasta, (it tasted like it had been watered down) and identify the meat. Meat is obviously too expensive to buy and was hard to spot in the dishes. This was not just the opinion of our party, many other guests were equally disappointed, but in true English fashion people were not worried about complaining, but only one group we spoke to said they would return. The general theme of the hotel seems to be cost cutting, which is a great shame as if some money was spent where needed it could be a lovely hotel.

" Hotel Hermitage is a perfect location... "

Hotel Hermitage is a perfect location for your holiday in Sauze d'Oulx.
Centrally located and only 20 metres far from the slopes.
I stayed there with my family for a week and our holiday was great.
The rooms are very nice: everything looks new.
Breakfast is good but dinner was special.
Good choice of starters, two types of pasta, a main course and a dessert.
Staff is very friendly and helpfull.

" Thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Sauze... "
Submitted By: Mr P Chapman
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Sauze D'Oulx. Skiing was a little testing at times as no significant snow had fallen for about two weeks but the varied slopes kept us occupied for the whole week.
The Hermitage hotel is conveniently situated about 100 metres from the Clotes chairlift (upgraded to a four man chairlift this season). The rooms are very modern with wall mounted LCD TVs and very spacious. Meals are very good with four courses in the evening and a continental breakfast. Staff are very friendly and approachable.
Overall a very good holiday and I'm sure we will return soon.
