Great Holiday for familys by shelly
7 / 10

I felt I had to write a review for this hotel after reading such bad reviews.

I stayed here with my partner and 4 young children. The hotel was great, vey clean maybe a little dated but it is a 3* hotel not 5*. People want 5* treatment for 3* prices!

The food was lovely a great choice and it varied slightly each day, the breakfast could have been better.

The entertainment staff were lovely both for adults and children and they had a lot of time for the children day and night. 3 out of 7 nights we had to queue a bit for drinks ( we were all inclusive ) but this wasn't a problem we would just double up on drinks.

The hotel is in a great location and is also 1 of the collection and drop off points for free buses into Siam park, Aqua land, Jungle park and many more places.

You only have to cross the road and your at the beach and there are lots of nice places to eat and drink along the front.

I would go back to this hotel again with my family.

You Get What You Pay For by HappyChappy

It was me and my boyfriend's first holiday together, we are 18, and went for the cheap and cheerful option. We were checked in no problem, the staff relatively friendly, giving us all the information that we needed about the all inclusive times etc. Went to the lifts to discover the hotel was being renovated, and there were only two lifts in use, which were constantly busy, and slow. We were on the 4th floor however, so we mostly took the stairs. That night we went to dinner, and from reading previous reviews, I knew not to expect fine dining. Sure enough the food was pretty awful. From that night on I stuck to what looked edible, which was chips and salad!! Both me and my boyfriend got upset tummies further into the holiday, which we suspect was because of the food. We never went hungry though, and you could get snacks by the pool, which were nice (toasties, burgers etc..) The drinks were good, and unlimited until 11pm. There were a lot of spanish holiday makers there aswell, which was fine, but they made it obvious they do not favour the British! We got plenty of dirty looks! The entertainment was pretty much the same everynight for the kids, but we didn't stay there much, because me and my boyfriend like to venture out. Regarding cleanliness, the maids visited everyday, sweeping the floor, making the beds, new towels etc. The poolside was nice, plenty of sunbeds, but you had to pay 1.50 for a mattress which was a bit cheeky. The kids entertainers were nice, and they were always doing activities with them. There was a nice atmosphere to the hotel in general and Los Cristianos is a lovely resort to stay in. This hotel did the job for us, and we had a lovely holiday.

i do not recomend this hotel to anybody.

the staff are horrible.

the pool is alright but it was boring.

i booked all inclusive, but i didnt feel as though i was all inclusive, you have to pay for everything apart from the drinks.

the entertainment is always the same.

the gym was closed.

we had to change rooms because our air conditioning was broke.

this hotel could use more lifts.

i am very disapointed

Nice, relaxing but some minor faults by ligster
7 / 10

We stayed a week from 25th July to 1st August 2010. Overall we had a good time. First impressions when we saw the hotel on way from the airport was it looked like a dated tower block. However, inside was great - nice and clean. Checking in was fine, reception greeted us friendly.

Activities for kids was ok however we had to pay 10 euros for a day of 3 activities (such as T-shirt painting, Pool Ball walking and Pancake making). Childrens water polo was great (and free) but only twice during the week. Adults polo and football everyday.

No problem getting a sunbed (we got them around 8.30).

Meals were good. Similar meals each day but they tried to vary it by having differnt themed nights such as mexican night, asian night etc.

We were on All Inclusive and disappointed to find that we couldn't get anything to eat from 9.30 after breakfast until 1pm. We had to pay for things like crisps, ice creams and slush puppies.

Bar staff were ok - they seem to resent the fact that we were all inclusive and didn't have any manners. Hardly smiled. Made you feel guilty if you ordered a larger amount of drinks.

Wasn't busy, however, there were 8 coach loads that came all at once (as their planes were delayed) and they bombarded in to the restaurant causing mahem.

Entertainment - for children was repetitive but OK and for adults was OK.

Rooms were very clean and had fresh towels and beds were made daily.

Pool table kept breaking, and not many games in the games room were working. Crazy Golf available if you paid. Nice little park for the kids (trampoline, see-saw etc).

Overall, we were pleased with our stay.

not the best sol melia hotel by malbear
5 / 10

just came back from this hotel,11/07/10 fair play very clean rooms nice clean towels every day but how can a hotel with 15 floors only have one bar open and that was the poolside bar which was very small sometimes there would only be 1 staff but when the spaniards started to come in ( omg loads and loads of them, they also opened another bar for them to watch the world cup) there would be 2 staff on. Kids club repetative same music every night bingo using a tooth pick !!! and an hour of entertainment which was generally good food ok depending on the time you went to the resturant been to a sol melia/flintstone hotel before sol tordos palma nova and it was far far in front of the dacil wouldn't waste money on this hotel again

To Whom It May Concern,

I'm writing to you as i have just returned home from Sol Princess Dacil last week and I am absolutely disgusted in the way that myself and my partner was treated upon arrival. We have stayed at Sol Princess Dacil on a couple of occasions 1 being in Oct just gone as we holiday in tenerife twice a year. Every time we have stayed at this hotel we have been bed and breakfast and found it very pleasant and clean and was going to book the hotel again in this October coming After the experience that we just had the the Princess Dacil me and my partner will never stay there again!! We arrived on the 1st of April on a 2 week stay when we arrived we were left standing there waiting to check in for 20 minutes while the receptionists ignored us and served all the spanish customers even though we were waiting longer . Then we were told that they didn't have enough room for us as it was the spanish holidays and they had over booked with all the spanish so they advised we had to stay in another hotel for 1 night. Now i can understand a mistake to overbook 1 room but as we were stood waiting for a taxi to transfer us to the other hotel we noticed that other english holidayers were being told the same thing but they were checking in new spanish holidayers without a problem at all now correct if i'm wrong but wouldn't you say that was a little racist towards the british?? I know that might be a harsh way to put it but that's how it felt i was annoyed at the fact of being told we couldn't stay in the room that we had booked and paid for way in advance. We naturally complained and they offered upgrading us to all inclusive we rejected the offer at first as me and my partner go on holiday to venture out we dont go away to be couped up in a hotel for 2 weeks. When we refused they said they would upgrade the room airconditioning, again we refused as we were not at all happy. The receptionist which was male was very arrogant and said well you take it or don't have anything i was shocked in the way that i was spoken to , so i asked for the manager.

The manager came over and apologised for the inconvience and said we misewell except the offer of all inclusive as they couldn't offer us anything else. I didnt want to be offered anything i just wanted to get into the room that i paid for and start our holiday. We ended up accepting the all-inclusive but we were still very unhappy. Then we had to move to the other hotel to stay the night there but was told to return to the sol princess dacil the next day at 12 to check in. The day after we returned to Princess Dacil at 12pm to check in as we were told to do so by the manager only to find out our room wasn't ready and it would only be ready for after 14:00pm. By that time i was really fed up i wasn't happy at all. Our holiday was spoilt not only was we messed around the day before and moved to another hotel so we lost 1 day there but we were getting messed around the following day making us lose another day. Eventually they got a room ready for us so we checked in and went to our room.

Throughout the 2 weeks we only ate in the restaurant on the evening 2 or 3 times as all that was on the menu was veal steak at lunch and veal stew for dinner so yep your thoughts are right!! The left over veal steaks at lunch were turned into stew for the evening meal . To put it politly it was disgusting and just to top the holiday off a male receptionist kept hitting on my partner asking for the key to our room so he could go there . Now my partner is not a homosexual and has nothing against homosexuals but the receptionist was not leaving my partner alone and was making him feel very uncomfortable. Now you would expect your employee to act a little more professional!!

I just cant get over the experience that we had at Princess Dacil , we've stayed many times before in the past and never had any problems and as said before in this email i was going to book again to stay in October coming but after the appalling service we just experienced i don't think i would spend money to stay there again. I certainly wont be writing nice reviews about Princess Dacil as i have done for the past couple of years on the internet and i certainly wont be recommending this hotel to any friends or family again. We lost 2 days of our holiday because of the poor management at this hotel and was made to feel very very uncomfortable by the crude remarks made by the gay receptionist. Its totally unacceptable to be made to feel like that on your holiday you go there to relax and enjoy yourselves our holiday was completely and utterly ruined. Yes ok you may think well you got upgraded to all inclusive the matter of the fact is we didn't want that and didn't really use it , it was pointless. Anybody looking to book the Princess Dacil Please think carefully

NO Disabled Access. by john c
2 / 10

This hotel has a ramp of sorts up to the reception.

But that is as far as you get.

Due to renovation works there is no ramp to get you up to the lifts (15 storey hotel)

Food

There is quite a good selection especailly if you use the Mediteranean food counter, but be aware of the breakfast bacon it needs hanging for 5 mins to let the grease drip off.Theb Dining room was more like a works canteen.

The pool is quite good although when we were there various families wer having water pistol fights across the pool and running around the edge, whilst the pool attendants did bugger all to stop it.

If you use the hotel bar take a torch because it is very dimly lit.

Of choice I would not use this horel again.

Just returned from a quick week getaway. 3-9.04.10. Booked the evening before we flew from Manchester. Booked via Travel Republic independelty arrived at the hotel at 1.30a.m. so we were quite tired upon arrival. We were welcomed by a friendly enough chap, gave him our full details and he inform my boyfriend and I that the hotel was full and that we were not booked into the hotel until the following day! This was highly embarrassing as there were other new holiday makers waiting to be checked in and the chap looked concerened with regards to getting the very busy queue down, we politley as true British early 30's we are let our fellow holiday makers check in whilst we used our initiative and emailed the hotel with proof that we have booked for 7 nghts commencing the night we arrived. After waiting an hour and being exhausted we informed the hotel chap that the emails are proof that we have booked the hotel correctly. To be honest once he knew that it was not "our" fault, he quickly made a call to a neighbouring hotel 4* Spring Hotel (can see from this hotel, highly recommend it), they organised a taxi to collect and drop of the following day.

We stayed the morning at this hotel in order to give Sol Princesa Dacil the opportunity to organise our room, we finally went back to the Dacil Hotel only to be greeted by a younger chap who didnt know of our situation and told us that the room was still not ready. My boyfriend calmy informed them that we have been in Tenerife for 12 hours and still not been able to gain access to our room. He wanted some form of compensation and the chap over the reception offered us all inclusive, we was happy to receive this. We had breakfast and lunch within the hotel as part of our holiday hence the reason why we wanted B&B was getting ready and having local / different food which you will find that is you visit this hotel the food is the same every day. However the overall holiday expericne was ok, didn't stay in the hotel at evenings so unable to comment on the entertainment etc, this hotel would be good for familiaris who wanted to abuse the all inclusinve offer! Unfortunately don't think that I would be using this hotel again. Hotel is very close to the airport and also the Water Park which is a must!

Never Again by holiday people
2 / 10

3 of us adults stayed here in febuary 2010, we all agreed it was the worst all inclucive hotel we have ever been in. it gost us over £500 each for one week and when we got to the hotel the 1st thing the saff at the desk said was that we were economy class?, we didnt know where to put our faces, how can they charge that sort of money and say that, the rooms they gave us we small and faceing what can only be described as a tip, it wasnt clean, the food was ok but nothing special, we might there was very little local drinks to choose from. might as well have gone halfboard, the staff were not helpfull in anyway, infact it seemed as if you were all inclusive, u were served last. the entertainment was the same everynight, if you have kids they will hate it, its more for older people. we are all in our 50s and have been to a lot of places and for us all to agree this was the worst is saying somthing. NEVER AGAIN.

Wonderfull Holidays by gemmababe08

This hotel is truley one of the nicest hotels i have been to,

I went in the summer or 2007 & 2008, and intened to go for 2011.

The hotel is within walking distance to a lovley beach, the weather was always nice, and the people are so friendly.

The staff at the hotel are extremly friendly. Espeacially the childrens entertainers, who provide excellent quallity of games and activites to take part in.

There are plenty of sunbeds for everyone.

The rooms were nice, bed sheets were cleaned every day. and fresh towels were lay.

The food was lovley there was a wide choice of styles to chose from.

Only downside to the hotel from both times when i was there, is the lifts, they tend to get stuck. so i stick to the stairs.

I would deffanatly recommed this hotel, to familys, and couples. i had a great time both times i went.

Visit 3 times a year by danielle

Look at all the reviews that are written most weeks. We have been coming to Princesa Dacil for the past 10 years 3 times a year. It is in a great position, we love all the staff who aim to please. I agree with some of the reviews regarding food etc it could be improvesd which I believe has in the last year. Winter time is the best as the same people are here and everyone joins in with everything that is going on. Not sure all inclusive has improved things it certainly hasnt for us as indoor bar has close earlier and we always enjoyed last drink in hotel and having chats with bar staff and waiters. Love going to bars in Los Cristianos always go Miners Retreat and say hello to Alan who owns it and then on to Dreamers to watch the show which is Derek and Mark an Iris coupke who are really good but really miss shows that they used to have on such as Rod Stewart, Cy Benson and Buddy Graham. Sorry to say, but the recession has had a big impact on Tenerife hope it can get back to what it was a couple of years ago

Contender for worst hotel in Tenerife by Unhappy camper
1 / 10

Checked in early evening to find superior room was surprisingly spacious with superb view from balcony but was shared with two pigeons who thought they owned the place.Found we were still in time to have dinner in the works canteen because that was probably the most accurate description for the depressing site that met us at the door. The food sadly lived up to works canteen standards and that's probably being unkind to the majority of these establishments. It was simply appalling. When you discover that the hair drier in the bathroom had a timer which cuts out after 25 seconds you start to realise that the meally mouthed accountants who run this place have ordered cut backs at every opportunity . There were 4 elderly lifts for the 15 floors in the hotel but one had to be completely sealed off for major rebuild after breaking down and stranding

residents for up to half an hour. We were especially sorry for the staff who were doing their best under difficult conditions.

The management of this hotel should hang their heads in shame. Wild horses would not drag us back to this sad place.
