My son and five of his friends ( four aged 16 and two just 17 ). This was they first ski-ing holiday alone. Have just come back from a weeks ski-ing at the Sauze D Oulx staying at the Hotel Gran Bosco and they had a great time . They said the food was lovely and more then enough. The rooms great and every-one was very helpful and they had a great time. The staff very good and the Taxi to and from the hotel was super. Thank you very much for a great Holiday.

What a Hotel! Fabulous views.
Accommodation was great and the staff were limited with English but owners were very friendly and helpful and they speak good English.
The food is good. Especially the wine list is rich; and you can trust the waiter to choose the right wine for your meal . The only funny thing about dinner is that you have to be there at 19:30 or you'll miss the buffet starters.
The bar area was welcoming, with a friendly ambience, and many people spent most of the evenings there. Bar prices were very cheap compared with other bars locally and on the mountains.
Gigi who ran mini bus courtesy service was invaluable. Thanks Gigi
We're going back there again, been four times in Sauze now and to be honest the resort and shops overall, the snow record, hotel and massive ski area are what make up a good and very memorable holiday.

We went to stay at the gran bosco hotel in Feb 2008 and had a fantastic holiday. The food was fantastic there was always something to eat and the rooms were nice too. The skiing was fantastic to plenty of red and black runs. The hotel offers a night bus into the town operated by GG which was fantastic from 4-midnight. All the staff werefriendly to. We will deffinatly be going back to visit this hotel.

Ok, booked this for a group of 14 ranging from beginners to intermediates. All young and looking for good skiing and a good range of activities and night life.
Travel: Flights were quick- around an hour and a bit. Food on them is also of a decent standard. Legroom is almost non existent. Turin airport is ok, very very slow with the bags- we were waiting an hour. Then got directed to outside the airport (a 5 minute walk) where the buses were waiting. It was a quick hour and a bit journey to the hotel. Arrived at the hotel (and had a 30 second walk uphill) at midday and had to wait until around 3 ish to check in for some unknown reason. However you can leave your stuff in the main lounge area with no problems. Hitched a lift to town with GIGI the taxi driver and got all the ski rental stuff sorted. When I came back checked into the room with no problems and got a spare key for the room too. Introduction talk was at 5.30 when we signed up for all the activities on offer, got ski passes etc. Met John the rep who is responsible for the hotel.
Room: Fairly basic but enough. A table, chairs, a decent bathroom and shower, a tv with satellite, decent beds and a balcony. The room can get a bit cold at night though. Make sure you get your shower early when you get back from skiing as the water can go cold. Cleaned by room service daily.
Facilities at the hotel: Ski's, boots etc can be left downstairs in the hotel. In the morning you walk to the bottom of the ramp outside the hotel and catch the bus (You can buy a 5 euro buspass for the whole week) this takes you to the ski lift that stops right next to the beginners areas and most of the ski lifts. Jacuzzi is there, but I didn't try it so no idea. There is a games room with an N64, Wii etc which should keep the kids and guys entertained. The hotel itself has a large and cheap bar area with Sky TV and a whole load of board games. There is also internet but you have to pay for a card to use it. GIGI the taxi driver is provided free of charge and he drives a minibus from 4-12pm back and forth to town. All the staff are very friendly and very helpful. The hotel itself is a ten minute walk from town where are the shops and clubs etc are so it's not really very far. Unfortunately after dark there are no taxis available at all, so it's either GIGI before 12 or a walk home. During the day the bus service is roughly half hourly and is quite reliable and easy to get.
Food: The breakfast is frankly what you expect from an Italian breakfast. You get cereal, cheese, ham, tea/coffee, bread rolls etc. There is loads of food available, but it isn't great quality. It will however keep you going til midday. When you arrive back at the hotel there is free tea and coffee on offer. In the evening (a rather late 7.30) you get a 4 course meal. This usually consists of some dodgy starters, a pasta dish, meat of some description then a dessert. The food is of mediocre quality and they provide so much you will never go hungry. One thing to note- Drinks aren't included and need to be bought, with the tab settled after the meal.
Activities: When we went there were events planned for almost every night. The hotel itself has it's own rep who unfortunately my party didn't have a great deal of joy with. He wasn't particularly helpful for example when I had problems with my ski pass and when another member of my party lost theirs. The activities included a pub crawl, a torchlight descent ski with meal, tickets to juventus vs intermilan, a bobsleigh, a trip to france (montgenevre), skidooing, a quiz and a slalom race. The rep failed to mention that there was a presentation for the slalom racers in the evening which coincided with the torchlight descent. We therefore had problems getting our slalom dvd and medals etc afterwards as you either did one or the other. Some of the activities were a bit steep but overall worth the cost.
Pistes: The runs are mainly intermediate quality. There are quite a few beginner areas but it's definately more set up for intermediates. I quite enjoyed myself on piste but most of the runs can be quite short and so you spent a lot of time on the lifts. It's worth heading over into the milky way to get some better and longer runs. The other parts of the milkyway don't take long to get to and have some decent runs. Montgenevre is part of the milkyway and is actually part of france. It's worth getting the bus over here instead of skiing. The beginners all seemed to enjoy the lessons.
Nightlife: There is a very good nightlife here. There not a great deal in the way of clubs which are quite expensive but there are loads of places to go for drinks (i.e. bars) and to get food from afterwards.
Overall I really enjoyed this holiday, it was cheap and cheerful. The hotel staff were lovely. In fact the only thing that spoiled it was the rep and his completely uncaring attitude. Otherwise would recommend it though.

A lovely family owned Hotel within a 5/10 minute walk to the slopes. Our party consisted of 55 peolple of which there were 9 children.I found the hotel to be very clean and tidy and the management and staff were always on hand to offer any help when required. The breakfast was more than adequate and the evening meal consisted of 5 courses which was of high quality.
The games room was very well equipped and a great meeting place and safe enviroment for the children to play and enjoy themselves.
Our rep Jon was extremely knowledgable on any questions that we threw at him and all this combined ensured that our party had a fantasic weeks holiday.
A big thank you to all concerned from the "Wensleydale Party"

Bit disappointed when room was not ready on arrival, but was lucky that I was one of the first rooms done. No chance of sking on first day, but sons went to try out the snow outside on the hill on their snowboards.
Rooms basic but comfortable, small beds, have an early shower to guarantee hot water in the evening, breakfast rubbish, bar prices dear but nice bottle of complementary wine in room on arrival, although was asked to pay for it when taken down for first days evening meal, soon sorted out though. Gigi who ran mini bus taxi service was invaluable, very nice pleasant bloke who was always there when you wanted a trip into town and recognised you when you were on your way back and picked you up free of charge the most endearing part of the holiday.
Sking fantastic, instructors very good.
Being the only vegetarian at the hotel at the time the staff were aware and prepared non meat alternatives on the four course meal, not bad in all.
Ski passes very dear, if you are a beginner best to get passes at the ski lift as you can pay £9 euros instead of the £30 as you dont have to go up the second or subsequent lifts first part of the week.
Overall, not a bad place to be, no noisy music, mostly had good nights sleep.

Booked 3 weeks before and it was £550 per person for half board, lift pass, ski school and equipment hire.
Hotel is slightly out of town, a 7 minute walk down a slight hill. Very easy walk.
The ski bus stop is at the bottom of the drive and the hotel operate a mini bus service from the town centre and back from 4pm to midnight. This is a god send and i found the location perfect. We did not once walk into or back from town. The view from the rooms is amazing and all the staff were very helpful.
The jacuzzi is great, 5 euros each for half hour and well worth it after a day of skiing. There is also a sauna but i didnt use this,
Rooms are basic but clean.
Food was exellent at the start of the week but deterioted towards the end of the week. with pasta being served everyday)
Its 4 course meal but its ok after a day of skiing (Marcos chip shop does kebabs and chip cheese and mayo if all else fails!)
Resort is fantastic and very rustic with loads of little shops and restuarants. Pistes are amzing and the links are great.
Will be going back to the resort next year and would also book this hotel again, great value and excellent rep service.

Gran Bosco is a family run hotel near to the gran camba chairlift ,always closed. A bit of a walk up the hill on an evening if you go out, they have courtesy mini-bus service, run by GIGI gran prix driver, from 4 pm to 12 pm. The rooms are clean. The hotel staff are all very friendly.
Breakfast was good consisting of the usual continental style food.
The evening meal was very nice and there were always a buffet of starter, 2 pastas and soup main course and dessert. The portions were huge and I usually had the starter as my main course which was more than enough.
I have a allergy to wheat and was very impressed with how our hotel and rep handled this. Everyone was very helpful, especially Jon our rep, who even checked at a restaurant on the torchlight decent if I could have anything.
The ski school was fantastic. The slopes in Sauze are beautiful, really wide, and long. Lots of red and blue runs to keep you busy. Our instructors Bruno & Alex looked after us really well and we accomplished much more than we thought we would!
Definitely would ski in Sauze D’Olux again.

I just got back from Sauze d'Oulx, hotel Gran Bosco I have to agree with the previous review only about breakfast, yes was very basic, they said continental breakfast, but is not enough for a day of skiing, but dinner was excellent.
Good transport links from hotel to the centre of resort, free bus run by hotel was very useful. Gigi driver is fantastic we call him Schumacher.
Very good staff, and service. Cleanliness of rooms and public area was excellent, owners were very friendly and helpful and they speak good English.
Very good snow, excellent ski lessons, thanks Renzo, good patient and helpful ski instructor.
We will be staying there again next year.

The bar area was welcoming, with a friendly ambience, and many people spent most of the evenings there. Bar prices were a little high compared with other bars locally, Bruno the barman is funny.

We spent a week in Sauze d'Oulx.
We are a family with two young children (8 and 5). After reading all the comments, we were worried about the hotel but fortunately our holiday was great.
The staff were very friendly, the rooms very clean and comfortable and the food really very good.
We suggest spending your holidays in this nice hotel in this great resort!

This hotel did my son and I proud. Good all round. It is at the end of the ski bus run which means you always get on in the morning, leaving people from other hotels stranded. Jon the ski rep is really helpful and makes a great ski guide.
