Just home from 1 week at this resort, we had a wonderful time, on the slopes. A few disappointing moments, the bus trip from Gerona to the hotel seemed to take forever, 4 and a half hour. half way there they stop at a road side cafe and you know what that means, they... more

Food was awful!!
from Splog
I have to agree with most of the other reviews about the food! We got back Sunday 11th Feb. People in hotel really friendly, barman especially good and if you want something decent to eat, eat in there! There were certainly some strange combinations in the restaurant and kids not keen (8 and 11). We made sure they had something decent at lunchtime so didn't go hungry. Room good - spacious and comfy, just make sure you have an off peak bath (before 5 and after 8) or the water is tepid. Chair lift great - just outside the door. Instructors fantastic - special mention to Stephanie and Jasmine. I learned more off Stephanie in 5 days than all the other 15 days ski school I have had put together. I certainly would recommend hotel, just be prepared for the food! Would also recommend the Torchlit descent for a change of scene, but not the afternoon shopping in Andorra town, unless you want a McDonald's!!!!!

Just returned on 4th Feb from a week at the Crest. Great Value if youre not TOO particular about your food, but we didnt go hungry! The room was clean, beds made every day and bathroom cleaned. The Chairlift outside the door was fantastic as I wouldn't have been able to face the uphill treck from the main gondola after a day on the slopes! That was the only downside of the holiday, that hill at 1.00 am!!. Had a fantastic time, went on all the 'organised outings' and met with some fantastic new friends. Get a small cheap rucksack and bring drinks etc up the mountain as these are expensive and add up.The Panaroma reps, especially Lauren, were fantastic and very visable all the time. Highly recommended!!
food for thought!!!!!

This was our second year going to arinsal ,my family love the skiing and the people are fantastic , the crest is a warm clean hotel only problem we could complain about was the food . we know we appreciate we are in a different country and not going to have food like home but they really need to start listening to visitors complaints ,also when you have children staying hotels need to consider thier tastes as most kids will not eat a lot of salad ,or pasta dishes.. this may seem very trival but when we stayed here last year this hotel was 3rd or 4th popular and now it has gone down to 9th . On the plus side the crest is at the top of the village which is away from all the noise if you have kids you will appreciate this ,, also the chairlift is righr outside and is a god send when you have just finished a hard day on the slopes also if you go to arinsal visit the irish pub..el.derby they are the most friendly bunch of people ever ,dean an darin who run it drove us home to the crest every nite with the kids saved us a bit of a walk ( not many would do that for customers) we met our instructor diego there and knew him from last year and also andreias who were all such fun .. We are going back to arinsal next year again as we really do love it there but not sure we will stay at the crest if the food problem was sorted out we wouldnt have a problem with this hotel!!!! .
Good hotel for families.

We stayed at the Crest with 3 kids, aged 9 and 10. The room was clean and spacious, had a few problems with the bathroom, but your halfway up a mountain you cant expect the best plumbing. The beds were comfortable enough and the maid came in and made the bed everyday. The food was OK, some strange combinations, but the kids were able to get what they wanted and there was plenty. The staff at the hotel were all really friendly and helpful, which is more than can be said for the panorama rep. ("look in the book", being the answer to most questions). The bar and lounge were good and the games room for the kids is a godsend when you want a quiet drink. The chairlift outside the hotel is a quick and easy way to get to the top otherwise its a walk down the hill to the gondola which takes a good 10 minutes, where there isnt always a footpath the whole way down. Its not a bad walk down, but a bit of a hike up again. Try the Quo Vardis Pub just up from the gondola, really friendly staff, kids welcome, and food is really nice too. Couldnt fault the ski/board school instructors Marcus, Ismael and Ivanna who were really great with the kids. Our only problem was the lack of snow, but that isnt anyone's fault. By ski accomodation standards this was a comfortable and clean hotel.
Crest Hotel
from NickandSarah
Just got back from Andorra today (sun 31st) stayed at the Crest hotel, where do i start. The accomodation average for a ski resort, rooms comfortable and welcoming apart from a few cleaning issues not that bad. As for the restaurant DONT GO THERE, how are you supposed to ski all day on a cold continental breakfast ?. Evening meal not much better a poor selection of food some hot but nothing to get excited about (unless you like RAW chicken because the chef grilled it instead of baking it). Out of twenty five parties twenty have made complaints to airtours about the discracefull food served up (we cant all be that picky). On the plus side Martin in the bar will bend over backwards to fulfil your every needs ie cooking nice pizza etc after dinner. The two man chairlift is a stone throw away from the front doors and will take you to the nursery ski school area and hire shops. Because they have had no snowfall the few slopes that are open are man made and dangerously busy, with a mixture of beginer skiers and boarders and experienced skiers tearing down the pist, a recipe for disaster. Be WARNED we seen a lot come back down on strechers. We would not return to this hotel but the resort yes, much later in the year as the lack of snow spoils everything. I have tried to simplify this post so not to drag it on and give you an honest opinion hope this helps.
Functional - Clean & Warm
from LKMeath
Excellent location which to me is paramount. Chairlift literally right beside hotel. The food is, as I said, functional. Rooms are spacious enough and are clean and warm. This hotel is suitable for families. We were a couple who went with a family of two kids so were prepared for the family oriented holiday. Staff are very friendly and helpful. If you're looking for luxury go somewhere else, otherwise, it's ideal if you're not fussy and really are there to ski and just use the hotel as somewhere to put your head down at night.
Excellent value, clean and child friendly!

Having just returned from a week at the Crest, have to say we cant really fault it. The rooms were of a good size, more importantly were clean and i have never slept in such a comfy bed in my life! The rooms were kept at a really comfortable temperature and were user friendly. The meals at the Crest were all good and we had NO bugs crawling through our salad at all, sometimes the combinations were a little strange but if you want to eat pizza and chips or chicken nuggets and chips all week then I would suggest staying at home!! Ski-ing in Arinsal was fab, make sure you visit Pal on the cable car its really pretty over there, tree lined runs and not too busy. A day in Arcalise is a must, no-one on the slopes in the week, get the free bus into La Massana, and then wait for the bus to Arcalise just over the road, wicked. Get a cab back to Arinsal on the way home, as we waited for an hour and a half and no bus turned up and we wished we had just got a cab in the first place. It cost us 7 euros, not worth worrying about. Great week, kids really enjoyed it, lift passes dirt cheap especially in booking through Panorama, kids under 14 free and adults £75 buy one get one free, cant ask better than that!

good rooms
from A TripAdvisor Member
Good basic rooms with plenty of space if you're lucky enough to get a 4 person room for 2 people. A little noisy with the sound of excited children echoing through the stair wells and open plan lobby. There is a chair lift just by the hotel up to the slopes, so extremely convenient. The hotel is north of the main town if Arinsal, so a bit of an up hill trek home in the evenings if you go out. The food at Crest was horrible. Avoid the salad, which was crawling with bugs!!! The hotel was fine apart from that, with room service every day and no uneccesary charges for linen hire or deposits you get in some French resrts. I would advise booking here as the price is good and spend what you saved eating in town at either the pizza place or argentinian grill opposite the gondola which were both very good value. Arinsal is a great place to learn to snowboard. Can get pretty busy at the weekends though and watch out for the spanish kids who will not mind if you get in their way, they'll just plough in to you. There are very few drag lifts, perfect for snowboarders! The tuition is first rate and there are many english speaking instructors. Hire of equipment cheap and of a good standard and the lift passes are the cheapest in Europe. It is a bit limited for advanced skiing and snowboarding but the resort is linked to Pal by cable car, which is more picturesque and has more variety of runs. We will be going back this year though maybe not to Hotel Crest....might try self catering instead!

Went with a party of 18, most of them first time on a skiing holiday. Had been to Arinsal twice before and knew it was good for beginners, so as I was organising the trip thought it safer to stick with somewhere I knew. Had been to Hotel Crest the year before. Hardly any... more
