Just home from 1 week at this resort, we had a wonderful time, on the slopes.
A few disappointing moments, the bus trip from Gerona to the hotel seemed to take forever, 4 and a half hour. half way there they stop at a road side cafe and you know what that means, they charge what they like, if I was going again I wouldn't get off the bus only to stretch my legs.
When we arrived at the hotel the rooms were given out very quickly (a good point) As for the hotel it was basic, there was a fridge in the room but that was all. No kettle, so every time we wanted a cup of tea or coffee we had to go to the bar and buy it. The maids come every day and make the beds but they only leave clean towels twice a week.
The bar and lobby area of the hotel wasn't very well lit. The lobby had a big fire so we sat round it most nights and we had to light it ourselves. Not a lot to do in the hotel, the rep's held a quiz night on the Wednesday which was good fun. Apart from that it was a long walk down hill into town to the nearest bar.
The walk down wasn't too bad it was the walk back home again. Taxis are not available and if you are lucky to get a taxi they charge whatever comes into their heads. No fixed price, About 16euro's for a mile and a half. There didn’t seem too much about the town only ski shops.
Lucky enough the nearest ski lift is right next to the hotel so that was a very big plus, 50 meters and we were on the chair. The centre on the slope's where we hired our skis from charge 50 euro a week for a locker. The hotel charges 10 euro's a week and you get your 10 Euros back whenever you hand in the key. Anyone with 2 or 3 children will likely have to fork out the 50 Euros because you couldn't carry the skis and boots from and to the hotel.
The food in the hotel was rubbish every morning we had cheese ham and bread. Lucky enough someone complained on the Thursday night so we got a fry up on the Friday morning. That was the biggest down side after a day’s skiing the dinner wasn't worth the hassle.
The rep we had was a great lad from Dublin, He was called B, yep just B. He had time for everyone and was there in the mornings and every evening from 5 - 7pm. He was full of information and if he didn’t know it he went and found out for you, nothing was any hassle for him.
All in all I don’t think we'd go back to this hotel, They could do a lot more with it if they would spend a few Euros on it. A taxi service would be wonderful
Happy skiing.

Went with a party of 18, most of them first time on a skiing holiday. Had been to Arinsal twice before and knew it was good for beginners, so as I was organising the trip thought it safer to stick with somewhere I knew. Had been to Hotel Crest the year before.
Hardly any snow the week before we arrived so I was panicking, but it started to snow the afternoon we arrived and continued for hours, best snow ever for the whole week.
Everyone was impressed by the size of the hotel rooms. The main criticism was the fact that there were no tea/coffee making facilities in them. This meant you had to buy from the resturant/bar, but one of our party managed to get a cup of hot water from the bar each night and made her own. The rooms are kept clean, beds made each day, but would have like towels replaced more often.
Food I felt had improved from the year before, still not fantastic, but everyone found something that they could eat and we had two kids with us who were fussy eaters.
We liked being able to keep our skis etc. in the hotel basement, saved the scramble at the lockers on the slopes.
The hotel is beginning to look a bit "tired", but then we were there the last week of the season. Could do with improving some of the seating in the entrance area where everyone sits at night. Bar is small, but we didn't find this to be a problem.
Location in the village is not great, if you want to go somewhere different at night, but we were happy to stay in, as we had kids with us. They went out side and slid down the slope at the side. Saw quite a lot of people allowing very young children to do this in the afternoon, when the lifts were still open, which was not very safe. When the snow conditions are right you are able to ski down to the hotel, but at the end of the run there is a bend, you cannot see what is beyond it and it ends just outside the Hotel. There were quite a lot of skiers and snow boarders using this run and they wouldn't have seen these kids until the last minute. Noticed quite a few "near misses". Not the Hotels fault, just parents with not a lot of common sense.
Panorama Reps were quite good, didn't really need to use them much.
Hate the long transfer from Gerona, but after five years in Andorra, know what to expect.
Overall a good hotel, so long as you are not expecting luxury, but then you do not pay over the top for it.
