Ioannis & Danny's Hotel

Just come back with 2 girlfriends from Dannys,cant praise the hotel enough.The staff could not do enough for you nothing was too much trouble,the food was excelllent too.This part in Zante is very quiet but perfect for a relaxing break,beautiful beaches,people and place,will be back without a doubt!!Thankyou to all staff at Danny's

Just returned from my second stay here. Would not usually go to the same place twice but just had to. This family run establishment is clean, friendly and fun. There are two pools, one is next to the snack bar which does great, reasonably price meals and snacks and serves lovely ice cold beer, music a little overpowering though. The other pool is much quieter and good for some peaceful reading and sun worshipping. The rooms are clean and modern with basic cooking facilities and each with a balcony for breakfast and cards in the evening.The main bar was fun in the evening with Pool tournament, Karaoke, quiz and a very good value Greek night and very friendly staff. The village was lovely and still very unspoilt by rowdy bars with so many lovely places to eat and drink that we were spoilt for choice, it is only a short walk to Alykes, the next resort where the bars are a bit more lively. There is a beautiful beach with very safe shallow water suitable for young children. Would have given a 10 but for the Grumpy woman who runs the shop on the complex, the only time she was civil was when she was trying to sell us tickets for her Greek night!

The apartments in general were amazing. The staff were very friendly (other than one, who I will mention in due time), and hard working. I was there for a week and Yannis and his wife never took a day off. They were always in pleasant moods and were very friendly and accommodating.
The pool area was lovely. Very relaxing, quiet, with a reasonably priced bar right next to it. And the Greek Night was brilliant!
The rooms were big enough- not enormous, but I wasn't expecting enormous (nor did they say they'd be enormous).
The only main downfall this place has is the cleaning staff who are, for lack of a better word, useless. I went to the beach one night and came back to go to bed. There was still sand in my bed five days later. And we received one set of fresh towels the entire week we were there, and two toilet rolls (for four people).
Additionally, some of our stuff went missing. I found one of my expensive tshirts oddly stuffed down the side of the corner sofa. Definitely *not* where I left it, and in too tight a space to have fallen down there accidentally. One of my other friends lost an expensive jumper, that had only ever been in that room. Unfortunately, we never found that. Since we didn't receive fresh bedding or towels, it confuses me as to what the cleaning staff were doing in our room every day.
Upon asking the lady who runs the shop and the maid service about the missing items, she got very shirty with us (even though we weren't originally accusing her service).
So unfortunately, that spoilt it a bit. Ioannis and Danny's would be a definite 10/10 for me, if the cleaning staff were replaced with a respectable, honest, hardworking force.

Having just returned from 7 days in Alykanas and a stay at Danny's hotel I would have to say that I would definately return, all staff including Danny, Joanna and Aphrodite were helpful and welcoming nothing was too much trouble and any request (the loan of a bottle opener for the week) was met with a friendly attitude. the rooms were immaculate on arrival, well equipped for our self catering holiday. rooms/bin and sheets changed regularly, pool area spotless including a jacuzzi. snack pool bar cheap and food excellent. the bar on an evening was entertaining and friendly. the area had plenty of bars and restuarants to keep a group of 5 mid twenty to thirty somethings happy without being to 'clubby' due to the early season the area was quite quiet but we were happy to spend time in Danny's bar each evening with the staff and other residents.

Just returned from a 7 night stay at Danny's and have to say it was by far our best holiday yet. The Staff were very welcoming, the room was clean and tidy and had everything we needed. Yannis, Jo, Linda, Stellios and Aphrodite, nothing was to much trouble for them and they made our holiday what it was. The pool snack bar had something for everyone and the evening entertainment in Danny's bar was superb. Big thank you to everyone at Danny's and we can wait to return soon.

Just got back after a superb holiday - Whilst not using all the facilities at Danny's - we liked to go to beach and see a bit of the island - I would recommend these studios to all my friends and family. Up to date rooms - modern kitchen, bed and bathroom. We had change of sheets at least every 4 days and bin in toilet changed daily. Only disappointment was a taxi - ordered through Danny's (goes by the name of Jimmy) - left us standing at St Nicholas Port which is quite remote for nearly two hours in the evening - luckily had enough money on mobile to ring the only taxi firm on the island who were very helpful and retrieved two very concerned ladies. Saying that Proprietor of Danny's was very concerned that we had been let down which was not his fault at all - wonderful holiday - wonderful area - food above average as tried all the different restaurants - and management and staff at Danny's were as good as it gets

Dannys is a friendly family run complex.They all make you very welcome and cannot do enough for you.
Danny's bar is very friendly and welcoming for the start of your night, end of your night or the entire night, having some entertainment certain nights.
The rooms are spacious and clean, also cleaned regular thoughout your stay.
We went away for 2 weeks in july 2010,and would love to return to Danny's and would recommend this to our family and friends.

We stayed here for 2 weeks,are just back and have absolutely no complaints whatsoever! The apartments are situated on a road off the main road and would be suitable for young children. We had breakfast at the pool bar every morning cooked expertly by Gary! The bigger bar away from the pool and rooms, run a fantastic Greek night, quizes and kareoke through the week. Although we were there so early in the season, only the Greek night was held. The area is very rural and there are some lovely walks. The restaurants on the main street have play areas for the younger children in their restaurants. We hired a car for only 20 Euros a day and toured the island. Great hol, friendly people - we'll be back.

We have just come back from dannys and we had a good holiday, the apartments are basic and with 4 of us in the one room it was a bit of a squeeze, there are 2 single beds and the other 2 are folding beds which were fine. We had a room overlooking the pool on the 1st floor. The maid came every day but to be honest the floor was not mopped every day and the balconey was not touched at all during our stay, meaning we helped ourselves to the brush and mop and did it ourselves. towels and sheets were changed twice a week. also i have to mention that makeup went missing from the room, this was in a makeup bag in the fridge !! Other than that everyone was quite friendly, the couple at the pool bar were great and the pizza's were delicious. prices ranged from 1.50 for a small beer to 3.50 for a spirit but they were generous with the measures. The other main bar, Danny's was more expensive. Watch out for the shop, everything except for cigarettes is more expensive than elsewhere. Also the woman that works there was a bit on the moody side !! Stelios (aka danny) sat in the main bar every evening watching the coming and going of guests but was friendly enough challenging my husband to pool matches frequently. the staff in the bar were excellent with the kids (son 10 and daughter 15) The bar staff sound a hooter everytime someone walks in or out of the bar and if they walk past, i found this a bit of a pain but we played them at their own game and waved enthusiastically when walking past. The pool area was kept clean and there were plenty of sunbeds for everyone (have to say we went the week before the summer holidays start so the second week was much busier and i would imagine it gets pretty heaving from now on) Altogether it was better than i had expected having read some terrible reviews, we would consider going back to the apartment but will definately return to Zante.

I'm not saying everybodies stay was like ours but I'm just saying how it was.
1. We did not receive a very warm welcome.
2. There was 4 of us, 2 adults & 2 children. The room we feel was not really big enough to sleep us.
3. Money & makeup went missing from our room, the money was in a padlocked purse.
4. The mini market they own is not cheap & you have to be careful not to get ripped off, check your change & add up the total of your items yourself. Another thing to watch for is they will charge you for a free item too.
5. We did not receive toilet paper that often, 1 roll every 5th day, we ended up buying our own. We had clean towels & bedding changed 3 times in the 2 weeks we were there.
6. The staff at the pool bar were quite rude. I ordered a pizza for my kids, after people after me got served & 40mins later I went to ask where our pizza was, I was told "I gave it to those people & we are not making anymore" no apology or anything. I asked for our money back & I was just looked at stupid and asked "why" I said "well because you gave our pizza to someone else & a pizza was what my children wanted" eventually I got my money back.
7. Rooms were cleaned every other day.
8. Pool area was nice.
