Blanc Palace Aparthotel

Just returned from a 14 day holiday here (via Thomas Cook).

We found the hotel to be excellent, particularly if you have young children. The staff were friendly, very good facilities and spacious rooms. The entertainment laid on was very much enjoyed by my 3-year-old daughter.

The comment below regarding lack of restaurants just isn’t true, there are over half a dozen nice ones within a pleasant 20 minute stroll, although the exchange rate of the Euro does make them a little pricey. The hotel itself has a pleasant snack bar and evening restaurant, which was ok too.

The nearest beach is a little small, but again ideal for young kids. Others can be reached either by a 20 minute walk or via the buses that step just outside the hotel. (cheap and easy to use)

All in all very pleased and would defiantly recommend to anyone with young children.

We were supposedly upgraded to this hotel because our other resort was no longer available, this was no upgrade.We were told by Thomas cook that the resort although quieter than calan blanes it was the same. There is hardly any choice for eating out and the prices are a lot dearer than other neighbouring towns. We spent a small fortune on taxis just to have a greater choice of restaurants. The hotel itself is very nice and the staff are very friendly. If you like lazing by the pool like us then be prepared to get up extra early to get a sunbed or you'll end up on the grass being bitten by the ants. There were 2 seperate incidents while we were there.1 was an attempted break-in during the day and another was a 14 year old girl was mugged outside the hotel for her mobile phone. The hotel lacks security in the form of cctv as it is situated out of town its an easy target for these type of incidents. Needless to say will not be returning!!!!!

my family and i which included two children aged 7 & 9 had a fabulous time. the appartments where very spacious and cleaned nearly every day to our supprise. everybody was so helpful and friendly right from the reception to the cleaners.

the pool area was lovely and clean and a lovely size even the baby pool, was great as we also went with younger children.

very quiet and laid back resort but you can get buses very easily.

there are some lovely restaurants around especially the steak house

which is well worth the visit.

reps where fantastic espcially stu really made you feel relaxed and they where always around.

children club entertainers made you very at ease especially as it was our first time for the clubs, look out for cheeky charlie and her gany

dont mind children then go here, if you have children they make friends very easily

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Blanc Palace for 7 nights from 27th June 2008.

Upon arriving, we were a bit apprehensive to see how close to the road the hotel is, but this doesn't matter at all. We never heard road/car noise. Our room had a balcony overlooking the children's play area, which worried us a bit, but it turned out fine. As a couple travelling alone without children, we never like to spend too much time around other people's kids! This hotel is definitely family orientated, especially with the kids club & entertainment. But this didn't spoil our holiday.

The hotel is sparkling clean & so was our room. We had fresh towels every day & a full room clean 3 times in the week. Our lounge area was the perfect size, with a huge bedroom & bathroom. The balcony was a great size too.

All the staff we encountered were polite & very helpful. Our only complaint would be that the kids club entertainers were very loud around the pool most days, trying to arrange volleyball & other activities. However, we put up with it as the hotel & pool were so pleasant and would definitely go back there.

We hired a car for the whole week, and would say that Sa Caleta is the perfect resort from which to explore the west side of the island. On several evenings we walked into Cuitadella (20 mins) then got the bus back to the hotel (5 mins). The last bus is just after midnight so you get plenty of time to have a meal & explore the beautiful city with its many cobbled streets & gorgeous harbour. We would also recommend a visit to Macarella beach, the most beautiful beach we have ever seen. It is well worth the 20min walk through pretty woodland to get there. Plus there is a great cafe called Bar Susy, serving food & drinks all day.

We wouldn't hesitate to recommend Blanc Palace.

We have just returned from a last minute holiday to Blanc Palace, with 2 children ages 11 &13. The aparthotel was lovely, equipped with t.v. with several UK channels, kitchenette with microwave, hob and fridge. A good size bedroom and bathroom. The whole hotel was immaculately kept and maintained, and staff were friendly and helpful. There was entertainment each evening and the entertainment staff were brilliant each afternoon arranging water polo or a game for the kids of all ages. The pool was lovely, with plenty of sunbeds and parasols but was never overcrowded. There was also a good size childrens pool.

The resort of Sa Caleta was fairly quiet, ideal for us but not for anyone looking for nightlife. There were several bars, bowling, a chinese restaurant, and Cituadella a historical town was easily reached by a 20 minute walk. There were bus stops outside the hotel where you could go to Cituadella or nearby resorts for a few euros. The scenery is beautiful and the island is very green and clean.

We would highly recommend Blanc Palace for a family holiday.

(the only reason why i am writing this review is because i do not want to put the place down, but to tell people with teenage children that this place is only suitable for people with children under the age of 10)

the place was very clean and in a quiet area. the local shop, what they open the side gate to, is ver over-priced compared to the other shop on the other side of the complex, which you are not directed too. everything was geared towards young children and i wish we had known this before booking as we would not have taken our 14 year old son. plus the night entertainment was naff!

besides that the hotel was very clean and very friendly, and for the right people, a lovely hotel.

We are a family of 4 - 2 adults and 13 month old twins and have just returned from our first foreign trip with our babies. The holiday has been harder work than we were expecting purely because we were away from home and away from our routine, but the hotel facilities did not make it particularly easy to enjoy being away with young children. First of all, the apartments are tiny. The main living room is very cramped and we had to keep re-arranging the furniture until we had enough room to let the girls crawl about. The bedroom was not much better by the time we had 2 cots in there. The positioning of the cots in the room meant we couldn't use the wardrobe, which therefore meant suitcases on the floor with our clothes in. The bathroom was off the bedroom, so when the girls were in bed we had to creep through and use the bathroom without the light on so as not to disturb them. The swimming pool area was nice and big, plenty of room for everyone and lots of sunbeds and parasols but the pool was that cold that no-one hardly went in! The pool itself was huge so I expect this had something to do with why the water never heated up. There is a snackbar by the pool which had great staff, in the main, and the food there was good. Not a great deal of choice but still was ok. We only tried the restaurant twice - the first time we were there for opening at 6.30pm and the second time we took the food back to our room to eat. Quality not great, choice was ok but again the staff were nice and the presentation was good. We didn't try any other restaurants nearby so can't comment on those. The actual resort of Sa Caleta was practically non-existent! There were 2 small supermarkets a couple of minutes away which were well stocked and there was a hypermarket about 20 minutes walk, where we did most of our shopping. There isn't really much to do around there if the weather is bad, so going out of season with young children is a bit risky! We didn't try any of the evening entertainment so can't comment on that. The place was nice enough and all said we did enjoy the holiday, it just wasn't what we were expecting having read other reviews and the holiday brochure.

The blanc palace hotel is absouletely spectacular! i have been to menorca for 9 years in a row this year being number 10 and i have felt that the hotel has been so good that we keep on going back. the atmosphere day and night is buzzing and the waiters and cleaning staff etc are always upbeat and greet you in some way shape or form. If you visit menorca visit the blanc palace hotel and just see how good it really is.

This holiday was booked at a last minuet deal for my family of 3 to Menorca. We'd never been before and absolutely loved this last minute get away.

The flight was perfect and on time and the transfer from the airport to the hotel was fantastic.

The hotel itself was in a quiet part of the island and there were few shops and bars around which made the holiday quiet and enjoyable. All the staff at the hotel were fantastically polite and helpful. Entertainment was good, more for people with young families. The hotel was spotlessly clean and tidy. Rooms were brilliant and spacious for us and also very clean. There was plenty to do on this break and only took a little amount of time to go on the buses to other towns.

This holiday was by far the best holiday we have ever had out of the many holiday's abroad we have been on. Well worth the money and we would recommend this holiday and hotel Blanc Palace to anyone.

OVERALL A FANTASTIC HOLIDAY, BRILLIANT PLACE TO STAY WE WILL MOST LIKELY GO BACK IN THE NEXT COUPLE OF YEARS. ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC!!!
