Myself, my partner, our children (aged 2 and 12) and my mum visited hotel Xaloc in May half term this year. Even though the hotel is only 3 star, we had a fantastic stay. The hotel is very clean, the staff very welcoming, a good variety of food is available on the buffet and the pool bar serves good food at reasonable prices. The hotel is perfectly situated, very close to the beach and the shops. Punta Prima, though not very picturesque, is a great base for seeing the Island by bus or hire car, or, as we did, spending most of the time by the pool! Sun beds were always available and the pool never got crowded, so we could easily relax knowing the children were safe. The hotel itself is very quiet, with entertainment provided only a couple of evenings a week. There arent any childrens clubs but the children were more than happy! So if you're looking for a relaxing holiday, in a quiet resort, then this is the place to go. We enjoyed it so much we are going back in August for 10 nights. Can't wait!!

We always enjoy ourselfs at the Xaloc, 2 weeks every year for the past 5 ! It is a very clean, friendly although basic hotel, good value for the money.
Punta Prima is delightful small resort, spoilt only by one thing....the price, condition and availability of the sunbeds on the beach, it would be nice at our age to be able to relax in comfort occasionaly. Unfortunately San Lois council, who own them, don't care about the visitors, so hardly anyone ever uses them.

Everything good that has been said in other reviews is true, the hotel is very nice, clean with friendly staff. But there are two items which appear on the description of the hotel that are not true.
1. There are no lifts.
2. There is no money exchange ( this has to be done at the local supermarket )
Apart from these I would recommend this hotel to anyone with children. The beach is within 50 M of the hotel and, apart from some nuisance seaweed, is a very nice beach.
The food in the hotel is very well cooked and served and consists of good 'basic' cooking, and is very nice.

Myself and my partner Phil went here for the 1st time and thoroughly enjoyed it.
Hotel was very clean, fresh towels everyday, food excellent, staff friendly and only a stone throw from the beach.
Met some lovely people from all over.
We hired a car for few days and explored the island and found some amazing beaches, went to the zoo and to different towns/cities on the island. We also went on the Catamaran in Mahon and got a commentated tour around the bay.
Only downsides of holiday were not enough entertainment and no air con in rooms.
Thanks for fantastic holiday!

We stayed at the Xaloc hotel on the recommendation of the reviews on this site and we weren't dissapointed.
It was quiet and relaxing ,we could always get a lounger at the pool no matter what time we went down which is a rare thing on holiday.Spent most days at the beach which is really clean and not too busy. The food in the the hotel was great and there was good. The local restaurants were great too, lots of nice fish!.
The bus to mahon only takes 25 mins and is worth going if you get itchy feet, we also walked to cala d'Alcaufar and S'Algar.
If you want a quiet relaxing holiday this is for you there are no clubs or noisy bars in the resort so if that's what your after I'd give it a miss.

My 13yr old daughter and I had a fantastic holiday at the Xaloc Playa Hotel in July and will definately be going again. The hotel was spotlessly clean, the staff were super and the food was excellent. We couldn't fault it at all. Our bedroom was on the first floor overlooking the gardens and all we could hear were the birds singing. The beach is only a 30 second walk away and is beautiful - I've never seen such white sand and clear blue water anywhere else in Europe.
We thought Punta Prima was lovely; quiet and not touristy at all, in fact it felt very Spanish. The bus to Mahon left hourly from right next to the hotel, and from Mahon you can get all over the island very easily. We loved Mahon; do go on the boat trip around the harbour, it's the second largest natural one in the world. The road train from Punta Prima to Binibeca was great too. You can get off the train at Binibeca beach and catch it back again later.
Our First Choice rep, Helen, was was really friendly and very helpful. We went on one island trip as we didn't hire a car and had a super day.
If its the nightlife you want then this is probably not the place for you but it certainly ticked all the right boxes for us - quiet and relaxing. See you next year Xaloc Playa.

This was my first holiday abroad and was extremely nervous.
We were greeted at Mahon airport by a very friendly rep who showed us to our transfer coach and gave us a guided tour to our hotel.
On arrival at our hotel we were met by a very friendly receptionist named Sandy. We could not get to our apartment straight away but were told to use the pool and other facilities. After 30 mins we were told what apartment we would be in. The apartment was fab, clean towels and bedding were brought in every day by the friendly cleaners.
We had this holiday as an early honeymoon and enjoyed it so much we have already booked to return next year. I would give this out of 10 an easy 11.

The hotel staff very helpful and friendly On our arrival at 10.30 pm a salad was waiting for us in the dining room The rooms were kept exceptionally clean and tidy as was the rest of the hotel and grounds The food was very good with a comprehensive choice every mealtime The resort is nice and quiet but within easy reach of mahon (bus service on time and reasonably priced) and all areas of this small and friendly island Our only complaint was that there was no air conditioning in the rooms and we had to hire a fan which did not make much difference, so spent some uncomfortbly hot nights Air conditioning would make this a 10/10 hokiiday destination for me and my grandson

This was our second visit to the Xaloc player the first was exceptional very quiet lovely hotel food and staff great. On arrival this time having requested a ground floor Accommodation through the tour operator we where stuck on the first floor no lifts at this hotel and it made the holiday very difficult for my wife climbing up stairs,The lack of Sun beds and availability leave a lot to be desired this hotel is no longer a haven for peace you can no longer swim in the pool for people playing ball games the good news is the beech is very near however due to the lack of sun beds we where forced to pay out 168 Euros to hire sun beds on the beech for the 2week holiday,The beds in the hotel have been renewed since our last visit if you like sleeping on a rock hard bed this place is for you you must also pay out for fans as the rooms have no air conditioning Now the good news the maid service is great ,The food is also very good for 3star loads of choice overall this was a very expensive and dissapointing holiday

This was our first trip abraod since the birth of our son (now 20mths) & we were nervous about the facilities, food, accomaodation. We were very pleasantly surprised & if you're looking for a place to take toddlers then this is the perfect place to start with. A very positive experience for us which we would gladly repeat. The rooms were clean & tended to every day. The staff were friendly & helpful. They even let us put milk in the bar fridge for our son's night time feeds. The pool was great, clean & very child friendly. Everything we'd asked for through the tour operator was done. There were many playgrounds in the resort & a beautiful beach to keep us entertained when we wanted a break from the hotel pool. The food was different every night & the bar staff accomodating & helpful especially considering their late nights & early mornings. The only things that could be improved are the entertainment which varied in qualitity, bar snack which were only available for 2 hours a day & some air conditioning in the rooms.
